God Does, We Receive

It Is Written, Hebrews 11:1, now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
It is very difficult for many Christians to accept the fact, that works do not earn blessings. They feel that they do not deserve blessings if they don't work for them. As a result, many are confused and unhappy.
Blessings in all their forms, are a gift from God. A gift is not earned, but given with love. It must be received from God to be a blessing. If we put restrictions on the gift, and do not receive it, we grieve God, the giver. Our gift to God, is praise, worship, gratefulness. We do these things verbally, in our hearts, and living according to His Word.
To put it in simple terms. Do you require your children to work for everything you give them? Would you stop giving them if they didn't work, but were thankful, and pleased you by their behavior?
If we can give our children, unconditional love, and things that make them happy, how much more will our Father give us? We don't have to think about it, all we have to do is believe according to God's Word. If we really look at each day in our lives, we will notice blessings that we never realized before. Try it and see what I mean. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Time To Decide

It Is Written, Proverbs 3:4-5, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Most of us go through life with problems facing us most of the time. We get over one, and up pops another. Some of these problems are the result of choices we make, and some just seem to happen.
We can go through life in a constant state of anger, depression, frustration, or relative peace and calm. Problems usually come up without warning and catch us off guard. That is usually when the trouble starts.
How we handle a problem, is a choice we have to make. We can control the problem, or the problem can control us. For instance, we are in a check out line that is long. It is hot and you are tired. The line seems to be standing still. You notice that the first person in line is holding things up because she has so many coupons.
Ask yourself this. If I get angry or get verbally abusive, will that solve the problem? More than likely, no. So choose to say to yourself, this is not worth being upset about, and ruining the day. Let it go.
If you are having trouble with problems, choose to give them to the number one problem solver, God Himself. Then just  relax your mind, and have peace. Sounds pretty simple I know, but it does work. It works because that is what God told us to do. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

The Real Meaning Of Christmas

It Is Written, Luke 2:10-14, then the angel said to them, "do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger". And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the Heavenly host praising God and saying glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace and goodwill toward men!
Many people recognize Christmas as representing the birth of Jesus. They are fortunate because they at least recognize Jesus to some extent, during this season.
It is unfortunate, but many Christians do not recognize the true significance of Jesus birth. It is the reality of John 3:16. If not for this event, all of mankind would be destined for hell.
Jesus birth started the wheels in motion, that eventually led to His crucifixion, death, and resurrection. His life made salvation possible for all who accepted Him as Savior.
So this Christmas, take a little time, especially with your family, to rejoice, for the greatest gift God gave us, his only Son. Have a joyful, grateful, Christmas, celebrating the beginning of our redemption. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Keep In Touch

It Is Written, Acts 20:35, ( Paul said to the Ephesians ) I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said," it is more blessed to give than to receive." Paul was referring to our time as well as our money.
As we approach this Christmas season, we think about close friends and relatives, and acknowledge what they mean to us, with a card, or a phone call, or even a visit.
It is the time of year that warms and softens the hearts of many people. It is the perfect time to show our appreciation, especially to those who have helped us in some way, even if they just listen to us.
It is  also a good time to give some thought to others, even people we don't know. A kind word, doing something helpful, or even giving a couple of dollars to a person in need, the church, or some charity.
Acts of kindness are always a blessing to the giver, and the receiver. Both are blessed. Giving of yourself, and your time, in an attitude of love, makes God smile.
God gave us His best, His only son, for our salvation. We should make an effort to give our best to God. How do we do that? By following Jesus example, in how we act with God's children. Remember, we are all God's children, and all of our acts of charity and kindness should not be just at this time of year, but should be a way of life that we follow all year in remembrance of what Jesus did for us. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Ho Hum Attitude

It Is Written, Ephesians 2:8, for by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God.
Many of us go through life, without giving a thought to what comes after we die. Many believe that there is nothing after we die. Others believe there is a Heaven, but do not believe in hell.
Most of these thoughts come to people because they would rather have false happiness, than to face the truth. Listed below are the truths about common beliefs held by many.
If there is no Heaven or hell, why would Jesus suffer and die? For what purpose?
There is only one way to Heaven, that is through Jesus.
God does not send people to hell, they choose hell when they reject Jesus.
All the good works you do, no matter how many, will not earn salvation.
The Bible is God's instruction manual to us. It does not change, and will never change. You may try to change God's Word, to match the way we live in these days, but that will never change what God says. You could change the law of gravity to fit what you believe, but there will still be gravity. If that is true about gravity, how can you possibly change God's Word? God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

What If ?

It Is Written, Psalm 121:7, the Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.
When I woke up this morning, a chilling thought crossed my mind. What if we went to bed at night feeling very good about everything, and woke up in the morning, to find out that the rapture happened that night, and we got left behind.
Can you imagine how the knowledge of that would affect you mentally and physically? Your realization that the Bible is true. The panic as you read about what is going to happen.
Some people do not believe in the rapture. What if they are wrong? Do you want to take a chance on what someone else thinks?
Many people, including many people that say they are Christians, believe there are a number of ways to get to Heaven, and that all people believe in the same God. If you have thoughts like that, you'd better check your Bible.
The only true answer is in the Bible. In acts 4:12, it says," there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved". I'd say that leaves no room for doubt.
After you read the Bible and find out what's what, say the prayer of salvation with all your heart, truly repent, and you will be saved. The fact is whether the rapture happens in your lifetime or not, you are still a child of God, for eternity with Him. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

Ignore The Noise

It Is Written, John 14:27, peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
As we all know, the world is full of noise. I am not talking about the clamor of everyday life, I am talking about events that create situations that can lead to sin, and that assault our faith.
Let me give a good example of what I am referring to. We have just come through 18 months of a major disgrace to our nation. I'm referring to the primaries and the election.
If you paid any attention to the politics involved, you no doubt noticed what amounted to absolute hatred all around. Dirt digging, extreme dirty tactics, rhetoric, and lies beyond measure, were the norm.
Both parties, as well as the media, were all involved. Nothing was beyond their reach, and there was no depth to which they would not descend to. When the election was over, some people marched, and some took up rioting. Violence in fact, and even death threats were and still are, a daily occurrence.
So why do I say all this? In the heat of the moment, it is pretty easy to get caught up in all of this, and forget we are suppose to be followers of Jesus, and not satan, who causes all of this turmoil. Realize that God allows what happens for His own reasons. We should pray every day for a good outcome, and a change in people's hearts. Pray and don't condemn. Judging belongs to the Creator. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Trust

It Is Written, Proverbs 3:5-6, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
These verses are the answer to life, and believe me, it is no exaggeration. It's usually pretty difficult to follow these instructions, because we like to think that we are in charge. But if we want peace and happiness in our lives, it is essential. I'm sure I'm not the only one that found out the hard way, and it cost me. This is a brief story of my experience. I tell this is an example from real life.
From the time I was very young, I had confidence in my abilities such as they were. Everything came pretty easy to me in school and later at work. I was pretty good at problem solving, and since I had no lack of confidence, I fell into planning all kinds of things.
A strange thing began to happen. Things that absolutely should have worked, didn't. Things that shouldn't have happened, did. Everything I touched or did, according to my plans, turned into a disaster.
It finally dawned on me that when everything was going good I really wasn't a part of it. It's like when I didn't think about it, God did. As a result of all of this, I went for years having successes that had nothing to do with me, but with the grace of God in my life. It was like the footprints in the sand poem. When I decided to plan things my way, I actually took myself away from God, so He let me do it my way. When I stayed out of the picture, then He took over, and things went right.
So it is, when we finally realize the truth of this verse, and start trusting God, He will take care of us. I guess I don't have to tell you that I have reached the point where I let the Lord Himself direct everything in my life, and I just enjoy His love and peace. Try it you'll like it. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Focus On Jesus, Not Problems

It Is Written, John 14:6, Jesus said to him ( Thomas ) , I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
One of the biggest problems we all face, is the fact that we all have problems. Is there a way to get rid of problems? No. Does that mean there will always be problems? Yes.
You may be wondering how a child of God can have problems during his life. The answer is simple, but it disappoints many, and angers some. Here it is anyway.
God allows problems in our lives, because problems help our faith to grow. God allows problems because He wants us to seek Him in all things. If we never had problems, most of us would never feel the need for God, or His love for us.
When we focus on Jesus for everything in our lives, we are victorious in everything we do. He loves us, and enjoys taking care of us. Our focus and dependence on Jesus, shows our love for Him.
Focus is a lot like words. Faith filled words produce blessings. Negative words produce failure. So we see that focus on Jesus produces blessings, and focus on worldly stuff, eventually produces heart ache and death.
What do you focus on? God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Look Around And See

It Is Written, Philippians 4:8, finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.
Many people claim that the Bible is just a book of fairy tales. Some may try to convince you that the Bible is full of inaccuracies, but when pressed, none of these people can make a plausible case for their opinion.
When you meet people with these opinions, you can be sure that they never really read the Bible. Then of course you meet those who reject the Bible because it interferes with their lifestyle. So what is the true story of the Bible?
An ordinary person like myself, who reads the Bible every day, starts to get the idea about the validity of the Bible. I say starts to, because even if you read it a dozen times, or 50 times, you always learn something new.
There are hundreds and hundreds of prophecies and promises of God through the prophets. As you read, you find out that these prophecies that were written hundreds of years before the fact, were fulfilled to the smallest detail.
If you read the Bible, you will find the story of today's world, as it was written 2000 to 3000 years ago. If you consider that the biblical prophecies are always right, look at world events of today, and you have a pretty good idea of what's coming next. God's Word is always true. Let him who has eyes to see and ears to hear take heed. No fairytales ever written,  or ever told, told the story the way it really is, or predicted anything that is totally accurate like the Bible. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

Sin

It Is Written, 1 John 3:8, he who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Sin is in many ways, a very controversial subject. Sin in today's world means different things to different people.
Society for the most part, in this politically correct world, view everything as OK. It seems that no form of self-indulgence is taboo. Many of these people do not recognize the existence of hell, so they go about doing what ever makes them feel good, even if it is outrageous and hurts other people.
You even have differences in opinions from so-called believers. Some believe that you can work off your sins, and get to Heaven by your good works. Others believe that you are saved by grace, through what Jesus did on the cross.
The correct answer is, what does God say? When you read the Bible, which is the Word of God, you'll find that His idea of sin, seems impossible to live up to. As a matter of fact, by ourselves it is impossible.
Jesus says you have committed sins like adultery and many others, even if it is only in your heart. In God's opinion, and it is his opinion that counts, you are just as guilty as if you did it in the flesh.
Of course God knew all of this, so he sent His only Son to forgive all of our sins, past, present, and future. All we had to do for salvation, is ask forgiveness, repent, and accept Jesus as our one and only Savior. So there you have it. Sin is what God says it is, and Jesus did for us what we could not do for ourselves, that is forgiveness of sins. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

By His Grace

It Is Written, Romans 6:14, for sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
The phrase "by the grace of God" puzzles many people. The easiest way to describe it, is the Bible definition. It is the gift from God, not earned by us.
As you read the Word, you find that this gift is given during the acceptance of Jesus as Savior. It is undeserved, and cannot be attained by works. Another thing many people don't recognize as being grace, is, all the blessings that goes with it.
The most important thing, is with salvation you become a child of God. Eternal life with God is another. We don't realize how much it really means, because we receive it all by faith, and we don't realize how long forever is.
We also have direct access to our Father in Heaven, Jesus the son, and the Holy Spirit. To start listing all of the benefits would take a very long time. You will however find them all in the Bible.
All blessings we receive, even the ones we take for granted, like our five senses, are a gift from God. Everything we think say and do is because of His unmerited grace and favor toward us. If you look in your concordance at the back of your Bible under grace, you will find many verses that explaine exactly what grace is. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Undeniable Proof

The prophecies of Isaiah 53:1-12, make for very interesting reading, and should be a part of every Christian's life. It is very important for people to meditate on this chapter and these verses for a number of reasons.
Hundreds of years before Jesus, Isaiah wrote of what Jesus would go through to bring us salvation. I have read this chapter many times and it never failed to grab my heart. I always marvel that Jesus sacrificed for me and everyone else including you my friend. It seems that Isaiah's words inspired deep repentance in many people.
The Bible speaks of many prophecies, some applying to Jesus Himself. We also hear about God's promises, and the fact that He cannot lie. Many of us read and believe the Bible. We read the Word of God, and sometimes fail to recognize the deep truths of it. You might say we have head knowledge instead of heart knowledge.
Praise the Lord for the Holy Spirit, and His works in our lives. The other day I watched a movie called Jesus of Nazareth. During the end of the crucifixion scene, the narrator recited several verses from Isaiah 53.
It struck me how accurate Isaiah was when he said by Jesus stripes we are healed. I finally got heart knowledge of the truths in the Bible. Fact of the matter is every prophecy that was ever given by God to a prophet, has been fulfilled exactly as it was given. There is not one prophecy that was not fulfilled exactly. When you look at it it just goes to prove that God's Words are true, so everything the Bible says, must also be true. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Don't Blame God

It Is Written, Romans 3:10-18, there is none righteous, no not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; in the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.
When you read these verses, it should become absolutely clear that if blame is to be placed on  anyone, it should be placed on each of us. Which one of us can say these verses don't describe us to some extent.
All of us have used our free will to disobey God. Since our society has been turning to political correctness we have taken God out of everything. We have taken God out of our daily life, our country, our schools, everything there is. It has gotten to the point where I need not tell you that our courts and government have done so many outrageous things against the Word of God, that only God's love keeps us from being destroyed.
It comes right down to this my friends. How can any of us blame God when we reject Him and accept what satan does. God does not cause all the problems in this world, satan does. So let's look at it the way it is. God allows us to use our free will, and it is up to us to use it properly. We must all make a choice about who we follow, God, or satan. If we choose to reject God, then we have absolutely no right to blame Him for anything. We must look to ourselves. So before any of us can say why did God allow that, or why did God do that, we must search our conscience first, and realize we have sinned. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

A New Thought

It Is Written, James 4:12, there is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?
If you have been a church member for any length of time, or have a Christian friend, you probably know that God tells us not to judge others. Have you ever thought about the reasons that God has for hating judging, and why it is a sin in God's eyes? Offhand, I can think of at least two possibilities.
First of all, God created everything that exists. Man is without a doubt God's greatest creation. God gave man dominion over the earth, including every living thing. God also gave each person a responsibility in life.
When we judge someone else, we are basically saying that God messed up in some way, because we feel that others are flawed in some way. We act like we know better than God. Remember each person has to answer to God for what they do, or don't do. He does not need our opinion or help.
When we judge someone, we are saying that we are better than them. When that happens, we commit one of the most common, and deadliest sins. Pride is the biggest cause of destruction of men's souls. God hates pride so much, because He loves us. If we don't repent, God might lose one of His children. Be aware, just let God take care of it. I found out that if we want to judge someone, we should judge ourselves. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

God's Law Stands

It Is Written, Romans 6:23, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God's law is written down in a book, called the Bible. It was given by God to the Holy Spirit, who in turn inspired the people who wrote it.
God's laws were written as instructions to His children, so that they could join Him in eternity when their time on earth was finished. They are never changing instructions. They are the same for all generations, and not subject to change.
Look at it this way. Thousands of years ago, liquid water was wet. It is wet today, and will be wet as long as the earth exists.
Many people in our world today, are trying to rewrite God's law, by out and out going against it. They put their own interpretation on everything and presume to know what God was thinking when He wrote them.. They think the Bible should conform to them, instead of them conforming to the Bible. The Bible tells us in countless verses what happens to those who refuse or distort God's law.
No matter what excuse people have for abortion, homosexuality, thinking Jesus is not the only way to be saved, and countless other changes and distortions they think of, it  will never change God's laws. Some people even think that if they get God out of their lives, they will have no responsibility concerning what God says. God says what He means, and means what He says. Read and follow only God's Word, not someone else's. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

God Is Our Fortress

It Is Written, Psalm 91:2, I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.
It doesn't matter where you live in this entire world, you can't help feeling that the world is going down the toilet. The news is full of violence, corruption, and extraordinary evil. Where can you go to escape? How can you prepare yourself for what is happening now, and is yet to come?
The answer is not stockpiling supplies and finding a secluded place to stay. Money will not help, and guns will not protect us during times of anarchy. Chaos is started and fueled by satan. So the question is what do you do next?
In Psalm 46:1, it says that God is our refuge and our strength. Nothing man-made can save anyone. The evil is overwhelming. We only fool ourselves if we think we can overcome the circumstances. satan is an evil spirit with incredible power. By ourselves we cannot fight him. In order to defeat him, we must operate in the spirit.
You may be asking, how can I do that? The answer is Jesus Christ. He defeated satan, sin, and death. After Jesus resurrection, He gave us power over satan in His Name. James 4:7 says submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Getting into God's Word, and staying in it, will give you a good foundation, establish your faith, and get you through the toughest times. The Lord is our source for every good thing, and He wants us to count on  Him. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Let Your Light Shine

It Is Written, Matthew 5:14-16, you are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.
If you are a Christian, you are probably familiar with these verses. Most people do not know what they really mean, and a lot of them, do not even try to find out.
Here is a brief description of what Jesus meant. We all know that if you cover or hide a light, it doesn't accomplish its purpose. Jesus said you are a light in the darkness of this world.
When you accept Jesus as your Savior, you have Him with you all of the time, and the Holy Spirit within you to guide you. When we received the fruits of the spirit at salvation, Galatians 5:22-23, and live by them in our hearts, and everyday life, we reflect the light of Jesus. The closer we get to Him, the brighter the light.
If we keep all of this to ourselves, and do not share them with others, it is like hiding our light under a bushel. Our reflected light is supposed to shine in the darkness to show other people the way Jesus expects us to live.
When we share these fruits with others by our actions, they see Jesus light and salvation reflected through us. Make your light shine in today's darkness in the world. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Turn It Over

It Is Written, Proverbs 3:5-6, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.
One of the hardest things for most people to do, is to turn their entire life over to God. They feel they are giving up control, because they don't really know or trust God yet.
Here is a harsh fact. You and I never had control over anything. Ecclesiastes 9:11 says it all. Time and chance happen to all. From the smallest thing to the biggest, we have free will to make a choice. God's will or our will. Let's look at both and see what makes the most sense.
First let's do it our way. We gather thoughts or facts, some of which might not be correct. So right from the start, we make a flawed decision. To reach our goal, there are at least dozens of things that must happen in perfect order and timing, to accomplish the best result.
If our decision is to let God guide us, He will. When God operates He sees all, and He can correct anything that will not result in the best answer. With God, chance does not enter into it at all. It is His love and mighty power, that makes things happen for those who trust in Him.
So, what makes the most sense to you? God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

A Happy Christian

It Is Written, Proverbs 15:13, a glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.
Believe it or not, there are happy people, even in this messed up world. Most of these happy people are true Christians. How is that possible, and how did they get that way?
The answer is simple. They have a relationship with Jesus. As most of us know, in order to have a relationship with someone, you must really know and trust that person. You are probably wondering how it is possible to build a relationship with someone you cannot see. That answer is also simple, but at the same time, very difficult for most people when they start.
There are two main keys to building that relationship with God. Spend time meditating on the Word, and talking to the Holy Spirit as much as possible. As you read the Word, and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, and live according to the Word, and guidance from the Holy Spirit, you will have a true relationship with God, before you even realize it.
As you lean more on God, you will lean less on the world and what it says. When you trust God completely for everything, you will be happy too. After all, God is the only way to true happiness. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Looking At Our Flag

It Is Written, Romans 12:2, and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
As I write this message, I do so with a less than happy heart. Up until 1973, when the supreme court legalized murder, in the form of abortion,I was proud of my country, and seeing our flag, moved me. But the country I felt so good about, started on a downward spiral that picks up more speed every day. As we see how our justice system, and government operate, it is easy to see the influence for evil.
Our court system, headed by the Supreme Court, has strayed from their job of interpreting our Constitution. They have become lawmakers, with a lifetime job, and no accountability. They are largely responsible for our political correctness. The rule of law the way the founding fathers envisioned it, is all but gone.
I am not a doom and gloom guy. This can all be reversed. Prayer is a powerful tool. We must all play a part that many Christians have avoided for years. That part is voting. When we don't vote, we do not have a choice about what gets forced on us.
Pray with your heart, and vote for people who will bring God back to our land. We have governments at all levels, who have lifetime jobs. Many of them have a goal of being reelected, so they can continue to take care of themselves only, and not the people who trusted them.
Let us take back our country. No vote, is a vote. If we don't vote, we will get what we deserve. Don't be fooled, it will get worse if we don't step up and do something now. Are you going to do your part, and vote the Bible? God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

A New Christian

It Is Written,2 Corinthians 5:17, therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.
When people receive Christ, it is normal for them to want to do extraordinary things for God. Many want to become preachers, so they can tell the world about Jesus. Almost all of these new Christians don't realize that they only took the first step.
To be a real follower of Christ, Matthew 10:38 says, whoever does not take up his cross and follow me, is not worthy of me. Mark 8:34, Matthew 16:24, Luke 9:23, all referred to taking up the cross and following Jesus.
Not sure what that means? The quick answer to that question is, live your daily life, without complaint, realizing that you are doing what God intended for you to do. God has a great plan for each of us, and that plan is unlocked to us, as we get closer to God, through His Word, the Bible.
A relationship with God, is an ongoing, lifetime thing. The rewards far and away exceedes the effort. You will walk in the greatest peace in your heart, that will be beyond measure. If you really want to please God, and you are starting out, it is not as hard as you think. I suggest you read Isaiah chapter 58:6-11.  When you follow that, you are doing what God wants you to do. God Bless You and Your Family. Praise the Lord!

The Holy Spirit's Voice

It Is Written, John 14:26, but the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, that one will teach you all things and will remind you of everything which I myself sent to you.
Obeying God is a problem for many people. They somehow get the idea that God is like some kind of dictator, ordering people about. His rules seem like my way or the highway. This could not be farther from what He desires
Take a look at some of the results of your own decisions, without condemning yourself. Were the results good or bad? How did they affect you and your family? Do you have any regrets, or would you like a do over ?
Picture driving to a tiny town on the other side of the country. Would you  do it without a map? Are your map reading skills good enough? If you use the GPS, it will tell you where to turn, and which road to take. It will correct you when you don't follow a particular instruction.
Life is a tougher trip. We need the ultimate direction giver. Pioneers used guides, because they knew what lay ahead. God knows every little obstacle and how it will affect us. No one, including the smartest of us can do that. So the best advice is,  partner up with the one who died for you, and wants the best for you, in this life and the next. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

Time Flies

It Is Written, Ephesians 5:15-16, see then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Have you ever looked back at your life, and wondered where all those years went? Were you shocked by it? Join the club.
When you are young, 20 or 30 years in the future seems like a long way off. You have plenty of time to get your life in order, or do you? Remember this. Today you are where it seemed was a long way off, 20 or 30 years ago.
Consider this. If you haven't made much progress in the last 30 years, what do you expect will be different in the next 30, if you don't change the way you do things. Life can last another 50 or 60 years, or another fifty or sixty seconds. We don't know when the clock will stop ticking for us.
Here is a simple suggestion. Re-evaluate your life, realizing how quickly time flies. Are you right with God? Someone once said, live each day as if it is your last. Someday it will be. Go with God, and the years will be fruitful. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Messengers for Salvation

It Is Written, Hebrews 1:14, are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
Do you have someone close to you, who is not saved yet? If you do, you are not alone. People who don't know Jesus, usually feel uncomfortable at the mention of Jesus name. They may change the subject, or flat out say that they don't want to discuss it. There are usually reasons for this attitude that even they don't know.
When you mention the name of Jesus, you plant a seed. Don't give up. Don't pursue this by yourself, unless you are led by the Holy Spirit. All you have to do is plant the seed and the Holy Spirit will do the rest.
A couple of weeks ago, I heard a well-known preacher say that God will send an angel in the form of a person, to someone we pray for to be saved. That may seem a little hard to believe, but I really do believe that that is exactly what happens.
At this point I guess I will stretch it and say something that I honestly believe to be true. A person who is saved, through the power of the Holy Spirit, can send his spirit to someone in order for them to get the message. All it really takes, is love.
It all really boils down to this. When you pray for someone to receive a messenger that they will listen to, about Jesus, and believe it with your heart, the Holy Spirit will make it happen. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Everyone Is Important

It Is Written, 1 Corinthians 12:14, for in fact the body is not one member but many.
Everyone is important to God. When He created the world, and planned the generations that would inhabit it, He didn't create favorites. Since God had a plan for each person, He values each person and the role they fill in this world.
When you accept Jesus and follow His plan, your life is blessed. You benefit from all God has because you are His child. You are a part of His body, the church, on this earth.
No one who rejects Jesus is saved. People who don't follow God's plan, usually have a hard time, because they trust in themselves, or something else, so they make bad decisions.
People who reject Jesus are doomed, but God still weeps over them. He wants all to be saved. People who repent and accept Jesus after a lifetime of rebellion, are saved. God and Heaven rejoice when that happens. So who is important? You and everyone else. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

A Personal God

It Is Written, 1 Corinthians 3:16, do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
On a number of occasions, I have heard various preachers say that head knowledge of Jesus is not enough to be saved. It takes heart knowledge to be saved. That bothered me for a long time. I really believed, but I didn't really know what heart knowledge was or what it is supposed to feel like.
It occurred to me one day, when I was watching a Jesus movie, or even a regular movie, (not one with evil spirits, sex, murder) that I was touched by certain things.
When I saw Jesus being abused in the movie, it seemed like I felt His pain, and I became angry at the Jewish leaders as well as the Romans. It is then that I discovered that whenever I saw something that seemed to go against God or his people it bothered me in my heart. I began to get the idea what heart knowledge is. It wasn't my head that told me, it was my heart that was being prompted by the Holy Spirit.
When I started to pray the next time, instead of the usual Father or Lord, I said "my father". When I did, the floodgates opened and my heart was overwhelmed with the loving closeness for Jesus. That my friends is what I believe heart knowledge to be. It isn't something you think about, it's something you ask the Holy Spirit to show you. Don't doubt at all, He will show you in no uncertain terms. God Bless You and Your Family
Praise The Lord!

Why Me?

It Is Written, James 1:2-4, my brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials. Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
Have you ever asked yourself that question? Why me? If you have, you are part of a large group on this earth. People have been asking that, since there were people.
I don't think there is a simple answer to that question. Things may not happen for any particular reason. In Ecclesiastes 9:11, it is written, again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
Solomon said that as he reflected on his life. We live in a corrupt world. satan runs around passing out all kinds of problems to as many as he can. As it says in Ecclesiastes, time and chance play a big part, but trust in God and patience, will help you be a winner.
Sometimes God allows things to happen in order to wake someone up in order to find salvation. Ask the Holy Spirit about your problem. He always explains and helps believers who ask. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

Money Or God

It Is Written, Matthew 6:24, but no one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
We make this decision every day, without realizing it. We look at money as security, fulfillment of needs and desires. Some even look at it as ultimate power.
We do not realize that money is a two-edged sword. Money can lead us to bad places. How we get it, what we do with it are two examples. It can be an evil tool of satan, as he leads us to replace God in our lives with a false God, money. I must add at this time, that the Bible doesn't say money is evil, but the love of money, is what causes the problem.
The Bible has plenty to say about money, not very much is positive. Try reading Proverbs. God wants us to count on Him for everything. God knows that money can and usually does lead to pride and destruction.
Money, investments, whatever way you look at it, can lose all value overnight. There are no safe investments. Instead of putting your trust in the false God of money, put your trust in Jesus. He is the safest way to live. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

The One Jesus Loved

It is Written, Romans 5:8, but God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
If you read the Gospels, you notice that one of the apostles seems closer to Jesus than the rest. You may not think this is true, because Jesus loved everyone. The Bible says God has no favorites. If that is true how can one seem to be closer?
During Jesus time on earth, no one thought Jesus was especially close to anyone, because he loved everyone. So how did the disciple Jesus loved, come to be.
In the Gospel of John, John refers to himself as the one Jesus loved. That title was created by John himself, because he experienced divine spiritual love from Jesus, and felt special.
We can all feel as John did. If we work on getting closer to Jesus by getting to really know Him through the Bible, and ask Him to live in us, we will feel the same way John did. It is written that if you get closer to Him, He gets closer to you. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Don't Dwell On It

It Is Written, Proverbs 16:3, commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
From the time we first started school, we are taught to figure things out, and to plan ahead, even if it is just tomorrow's homework. As adults we have been conditioned to plan ahead and work out problems. We are bombarded with ads to improve ourselves so we can provide for the future.
Well my friends, you probably know by now that five-year plans, or plans in general, usually don't work out. Is that because we are not very smart, or things just happen for no apparent reason?
If you are an unbeliever you might just call it bad luck. If you are a believer however, you may call it God's will. Either way it is a product of free will.
If you are a believer, and you dwell on something, you are telling God that He cannot handle it, so you will. By not giving Him your concerns, you are saying you don't trust Him. So wise up, and let God take care of it for you, by letting it go and handing it over to Him. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

A Vision of Healing

It Is Written, acts 19:11, and God was doing extraordinary miracles, by the hands of Paul.
Everyone gets sick or has some kind of accident in their lifetime. There is no escaping it. Different people handle those situations differently.
The majority of people go to a doctor when a health issue comes up. Sometimes an illness can be taken care of with pills, sometimes with surgery, and sometimes not at all.
Christians get sick too. Some Christians believe in divine healing. They believe that by Jesus stripes, they were healed, and they receive that healing by faith. Many times that healing does occur.
What happens when you don't have enough faith to believe for that healing? There is nothing wrong with going to the doctor. Jesus uses them the way He uses other things in nature, as well as people to do His work on this earth.
Take a good look at the picture above. I believe that it is a true representation of how Jesus heals many people. Keep that picture in your heart, and believe. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Who Are They ?

This may seem like a strange title, but this title says a lot. Many people do not know who they are.
If you ask most people who they are, they will usually tell you what they do for a living. It's pretty common for people to see themselves that way, because it requires no thought.
Take politics for instance. Many older people say they are Democrat or Republican, simply because the last three or four generations of their family were one or the other. Other than that they cannot give you a reason.
Religion is the same way. Most people say they are one  denomination or another, but most of the time they do not practice that religion. A large percentage never even took the time to find out what their particular denomination stood for.
Many people claim to be Christian, but are they? As with the other examples, in order to be what you claim, you must put it into action. Christianity especially, is not a spectator sport. It all boils down to one simple fact. Whatever you claim to be, learn about it, and live it. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

When Satan Strikes

It Is Written, 1 Peter 5:8, be sober minded, the watchful. Your adversary the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.
It is not uncommon to hear believers complain about satan attacking them. He does it by bringing up past sins in order to condemn the person he is attacking
satan puts bad thoughts in everyone's head. Most of those people do not know that they do not have to accept those thoughts.
satan twists facts almost as much as the news media these days. He misquotes the Bible to deceive you, and to see if you know God's Word. He never rests, and will not stop, unless you stop him.
To fight satan, know this. He knows when people are afraid of him, and he ups the attacks. He knows people panic, and make his job easier. Hopeless? Read on.
Since we cannot defeat satan without God, true believers use God's Word as their most powerful weapon. Jesus defeated satan for all time. So in Jesus name tell satan to leave, and get in the Word. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

Don't Think About God?

It Is Written, Matthew 16:26, for what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
There are many people in this world that are considered successful by the world standards of success, however success means different things to different people.
God does not condemn people who attain wealth or fame. The big problem is when people think that they can do everything by themselves, and they don't need God. Their wealth or fame becomes their God.
If a person does in fact decide that money, a goal, or fame, or whatever else is the most important thing to them, they run the risk of that becoming their God. If they focus everything on the end, and not how they got there, they run a real risk of eternity that is also without God.
If on the other hand, a person focuses on God, talks to God, and follows God's plan, he or she can exceed their wildest dreams, and enjoy eternity with God.
Whatever it is you choose to do in life, make sure that God is your partner and guide, no matter what. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

People In Your Life

It Is Written, 2 Timothy 2:15, be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.
The world is full of people. Many look for friends, because they feel that the number of friends they have, equates to their status, or is a way to fill an empty space in their life.
You will find that the majority of people you meet are unbelievers, and they reject believers. They are most often very negative about themselves, as well as just about everything else in their world.
People create their own world by their words and actions. People take what for them, is the easier road. They speak negative words, take negative actions, and look to blame others for their failures.
Believers have their own world too. Their's however is filled with positive words and actions. They trust in God, and have a fulfilling life.
Remember this. You will be like the people you associate with. Choose wisely, because your eternity depends on your choices. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Hear God

It Is Written, John 8:47, whoever is of God, hears the Words of God. The reason you do not hear them is that you are not of God.
This verse may seem a little harsh, but it is true. God's Word and instructions to us are in the Bible. If you do not know Him through His Word, you are not likely to know His voice.
If you are not of God, how would you know how, or what you should speak to Him. It would be like trying to speak to someone in a language you do not understand.
The majority of people, do not understand that knowing about God, is nowhere near really knowing God and His love. We must know Him better than we know the closest person to us.
Really knowing God is easy to do. Read and meditate on His Word. Unfortunately for many people, that is the hardest thing to do.
Take your first step, and read the Word, and the Holy Spirit will guide you and help you. Salvation is waiting. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Eyes Wide Open

It Is Written, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
As human beings, most of us have a never-ending list of wants. Our wants can become so strong in our minds, that they take on the status of needs.
Most people do not realize that many things we think we need, or want, would not be what is best for us. God does, and He knows if something will take us from Him, or cause us harm in some way.
A number of years ago, it occurred to me that life is like going to school. Each level comes up as we are prepared for it. It's a little like that with God. Things happen in steps, just as schools have grades.
Until we appreciate what He has given us, and are truly thankful for it, we might not go to the next want. Be truly thankful for Jesus and what He did for you. Be grateful for everything you have, and more will be given to you. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

The Greatest Fast

It Is Written, in Isaiah chapter 58. It is too long to write here, but it will do you a tremendous amount of good if you read that chapter. What I have written will make sense only if you do.
When we think of fasting, we usually think of giving up food for a few days. We have also heard of variations of fasting. There are dozens of fasts that people have come up with, probably in order to make the idea of fasting, more acceptable.
I'm not going into a discussion of the merits of each type, or the value of each when done with prayer. When we decide about fasting for any reason, we should take into consideration how God feels about fasting.
Isaiah 58:6-7 tells us about what God considers the ideal fast. Verses eight through 11 tell you about the benefits of this fast. Again reading this chapter of Isaiah, will make everything in this message more understandable.
When we were saved, we received the fruits of the spirit. We received these fruits because God thought they were important for us to have.
It is not a coincidence that the fruits are the basis of God's preferred fast as outlined in Isaiah 58. He gave us all the tools we need to help us with His fast. Meditate on this chapter and give it some serious consideration. You will be blessed. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

The Valley

It Is Written, Psalm 23:4, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;  for you are with me;  your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
As I was reading this fourth verse of the Psalm, I was again reminded of the peace it brought to so many, including me.
The picture of helpless sheep being protected by the Shepherd, is so much a picture of security, that the feelings of the ones protected would be indescribable.
I bring up this point, because I see the world as the valley, and God is my personal Shepherd. To me, believers are like the helpless sheep. In this world gone mad, and danger lurking everywhere, we must look to our divine Shepherd.
The Lord takes care of His, but like the sheep in this Psalm, we must put our total trust in our Shepherd. I'm not trying to reinterpret Scripture, I'm just saying what this verse means to me. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Heart And Brain

It Is Written, 1 John 4:20-21, if someone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him; that he who loves God must love his brother also.
When you think about God, do you really love Him? Maybe you are a little confused about it. Maybe your brain tells you that since you don't feel love the way you do, or did with your spouse, you don't love God.
Your brain is bombarded by satan all day long. He fills your head with problems, dislike, anger toward other people, and so on. All of this is a diversion to keep you from God. He plants guilt and condemnation for everything you listen to him about.
Your heart on the other hand, can see a clear picture. If you are touched by things of God, your heart is telling you that you do love God.
You are a spirit, and your brain is low man on the totem pole. You can shut messages from satan off. Let your spirit put the things of God in your brain. Things of the spirit overcome anything satan can possibly do or say.
If you have received salvation, just live according to the fruits of the spirit as outlined in Galatians 5: 22-23, and loving God is automatic. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Is the Old Testament Cruel ?

It Is Written, 2 Corinthians 3:13-14, unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.
I guess you could say, according to that verse, if you don't study the Old Testament the veil will not lift for you either. As we all know the Old Testament has been getting a bad rap for years. Does it deserve all of the bad feelings people have about it?
If you select verses at random, or a friend tells you about a certain verse or two, you can easily reach the wrong conclusion.
Here's a suggestion to help you decide. Actually read a book like Jeremiah. Don't skip anything. As you read any book in the Old Testament, look at it from God's point of view. He explains everything He will do and why, if the people do not listen to His Word.
Jesus Himself made many references to the Old Testament in His teachings. Jesus preached love and how His Father wanted everyone to be saved. Jesus preached against false gods the same way the Old Testament did, and how the belief in false God's displeased His Father.
One more point. In our world without God, do you feel safe? How about if God eliminated the bad guys? God protected His people spiritually as well as physically since man was created.
If you look at your children and their obedience, or disobedience, you start to see things a little bit the way God saw them. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Guilt or Repentance

It Is Written, 2 Corinthians 7:10, for Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
Recently I asked myself an important question, while thinking about repentance. You may want ask yourself the same question.
When you sin, why do you confess it to God? Is it because you are afraid of going to hell, or do you feel real remorse because it offends God?
I'm pretty sure that almost everyone including myself, has to think long and hard about the answer we come up with. I don't know about you, but it puts sin in a whole new light for me.
Think about it and be honest with yourself. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

The Rapture

It Is Written, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, for the Lord himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an Archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with  them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Many people do not believe in the rapture, because the word rapture is not in the Bible. The words caught up are used instead. 2 Corinthians 12:4, speaking of Paul, he was caught up into paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
The Bible tells of Noah and his family escaping the flood, Lot and his family escaping Sodom. God rescued His people. Even the Hebrews living in Egypt during the time of Moses, were untouched by the plagues.
God rescues His people one way or another. Many people today consider the idea of the rapture, as escapism and nonsense. Seems like a lack of trust in God.
Many scholars today agree that the rapture will happen. They do however disagree as to when, whether it is before tribulation, during tribulation, or at the end of tribulation.
If you are a believer in Jesus as your personal Savior, you will be okay no matter when the rapture occurs. Read the Word and see for yourself. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Change Circumstances

It Is Written, Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
In the past we have discussed the power of words, and how they determine how you will live. Those words start in the head.
If you have a heart for God, and His Word, whatever circumstances you find yourself in, you will come out a winner.
It all begins with that all-important relationship with God. When you know Him, His Word, and trust in Him, you have the answers to all circumstances.
Whatever you encounter, call on the name of Jesus and talk to the Holy Spirit. At that point, your heart will hear the answer, and tell your brain. Your brain will tell your mouth, and words will be spoken that set things in motion in the spirit world.
It really is that easy when you place your trust in God. Even though it may be hard in the beginning, just have patience and believe. You will be amazed at the blessings you will encounter in your future journey. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!
