My Time With Jesus Tuesday

The Case For Answered Prayer

John 14:12, Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.

This is one of the verses that got us thinking and believing in the power of Prayer. There were many other verses that backed up the whole idea of the power of Jesus name and it’s interaction with the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 21:22, And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.

If you followed these messages for about the last 10 years you might have noticed the consistency of those messages. Over the years the message has only become clearer and stronger.

Genesis 1: 1-2, in the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. The Earth was without form and void and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

As I read these two verses and meditated on them an idea came to me that made perfect sense. When God pronounced something such as let there be light, those words triggered the Holy Spirit to bring it to pass.

Many people struggle to get prayers answered because they believe that their faith determines the outcome. Therein lies the problem. No man can do miracles on his own. So, what do we do?

Let’s look at answered prayer from another direction. In this case let us assume a Believer was close to Jesus in his daily walk. Here is where the works that Jesus did helps explain it all. When Jesus got a request from someone for a healing, He pronounced it done. At that point the Holy Spirit made it happen. The sick person was not counting on his own faith for healing, but his faith and trust in Jesus.

John 15:7, If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

James 4:8, Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded.

I have come to believe that all of my prayers will be answered by going to the Lord Jesus Christ, and putting my faith in Him. There is no doubt about that. Over the years the proof of what I say is true time after time. Jesus always spoke the answer and that answer never failed. God bless you and your family.

Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

 Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus Christ, I am a sinner. I know you suffered and died on the cross and rose again in order to wash away my sins and to save me. I acknowledge my sins, and I Repent those sins and I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. I believe and I receive the gift of Salvation. Thank you, Lord Jesus!

Praise The Lord!

Praise The Lord Anyway

Many, many moons ago, when I was much younger, I made a number of decisions that proved costly to me in more ways than one. There were many reasons for these blunders, and they all pointed to me.

I made hasty decisions, emotional decisions, and decisions I made because of circumstances I created. I had many bad days that caused anger, despair, and a feeling that it was all just a nightmare.

My mother-in-law was the Christian that personified what a Christian should be. She loved Jesus so much that she seemed to glow when she mentioned His name.

I believe the Holy Spirit gave her discernment, because she never pushed Jesus on anyone, especially me. She did it in a soft, gentle, loving way. One day she gave me a paperback book with the title “Praise The Lord Anyway”. When she gave me the book, all she said was, this is a good book, I thought you might like it. That was all she said.

Being who I was at the time, I thanked her politely, and put it in a drawer when I got home. It stayed there for a few years. One day I saw it when I was looking for something else, and I picked it up for some reason and started to read it.

At first, what it said seemed almost impossible to do. I found I could not put it down, even though I was beginning to think that there was no way I could  possibly do what it said. I read the entire book that day. During the next few days I decided to try it on something simple. I will now tell you how it works.

Let's say you were on your way to work. The car in front of you seems to be poking along. What happens next is a real test. He makes the light and you don't. Time to Praise the Lord anyway. You praise the Lord, and do not cuss the other driver, and peace returns to you.

Psalm 42:11, Why, my soul, are you so dejected? Why are you in such turmoil? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.

To make a long story short, it took me a while to remember to do it, and to overlook what I was upset about. That really was the beginning of my trip to Salvation. The whole trick is you must stick with it for at least a week or two. You can't just try it once or twice and give up on it because you convince yourself it's no good. I know my mother-in-law is in Heaven, and smiling about how her love and kindness introduced me to the Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

 Remember Jesus loves you.

 Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus, please forgive all of my sins, and come into my heart as my personal savior. I want to serve Only You.

Praise The Lord!

Amen

Lent-A Remembrance of Jesus 40 Days in the Wilderness

Jesus had to go through the testing process in the wilderness, so that all creatures would see that He was the conqueror of all things.

Jesus was tempted as man. He depended on the same Holy Spirit we have, and the power of the Word of God.

First temptation

The first thing satan tried to do was put the doubt of the love of God into Jesus heart, just as he did to Adam and Eve. We still go through the same thing in our modern times. satan causes things to happen to us in the hopes that we will start to doubt God's love.

Whenever we put our physical needs ahead of our spiritual needs, we sin. An example  Jesus dealt with is, satan suggestion to turn the rocks into bread.  Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 8:3. so God allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that this might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. The lesson for us is that in our hectic daily lives, we need the Word of God more than ever.

Second temptationsatan tried to twist the Word of God to make it say what he wanted. satan knows that he can take a basic verse and by leaving some words out, or adding some other words, he can deceive someone who does not know the word of God. An example of what he did to Jesus was when they were on the pinnacle of the Temple. It tells us in Psalm 91:11-12 for he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways, in their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

We must never take anything out of context. When we read the Bible read the verses before and after to get the full meaning. Deuteronomy 6:16 says, you shall not tempt the Lord your God as you tempted him in Massa. That word is the place the Israelites sought to put God to the test by imposing demands upon Him to prove Himself in ways that they proposed. We tempt God whenever we put ourselves into circumstances that force Him to work miracles on our behalf. So you see what happened then happens now.

Third temptationsatan was in effect offering a shortcut for Jesus to attain His kingdom. If you think about it, if Jesus did that, mankind would never be saved. satan's big ambition was for Jesus to worship him, Jesus knew that worshiping the creature instead of the creator is the lie that rules the world even today. There are no shortcuts to the will of God. If we want to share in the glory, we must also share in the suffering.

Jesus told satan when he quoted Deuteronomy 6:13, that thou shall worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt you serve. Jesus said this in order to show us that whatever we worship, we will serve. Whether it's money, lust, you name it. If you get to the point where you worship something, you will serve that something. Worship and service go together.

To recap just a little bit, and some of this is speculation on my part. Jesus knew everything that would happen ,then and in the future, besides physical hunger and thirst. He probably suffered the most over His children that would not be saved.  Jesus did everything He could for us, but satan is a deceitful foe who stops at nothing in his quest to be God, and be worshiped. He knew that in the future many would be deceived and it grieved Him deeply. For that reason He had to do what He did in order to send the Holy Spirit to help us attain the salvation that He made possible through His Death and Resurrection.

I've found over the years what I feel was a good idea for me and it might sound good to you. When you go to sleep at night ask the Holy Spirit to use your spirit to praise God while you sleep. If you do this every day I think you'll be amazed at how  fulfilled you can feel .God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

1 Corinthians 2:9, What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the human heart conceived, what God has prepared for those who love Him.

Philippians 3:20, But our citizenship is in Heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Each of us has at least one family member or friend that we are concerned about their salvation. We do not know if they are saved or not, and the fact is they may not know either.

The Bible does not specifically say whether we can pray for salvation for someone else, because each person decides for themselves.

John 6:44, No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me; and I will raise that person up on the last day.

This is a good verse to start our thinking about someone else’s salvation. Our Heavenly Father wants everyone to be saved. The Bible tells us that when a believer, asks the Father, according to His will, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, our prayer will be answered.

Ephesians 6: 18, pray in the spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.

As this verse tells us, even if we don’t know how or what to pray, the Holy Spirit will take the words from our hearts and present them to our Father as a perfect prayer.

John 4: 24, God is a spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and Truth.

I recently heard a pastor put it this way. Faith connected with sincere prayer can move mountains. I cannot show you specifically in the Bible that someone can be saved the way we have come to believe. I believe with all my heart, that when we pray for someone’s salvation, Our Father God will move Heaven and Earth to give that person an opportunity to know and accept Jesus as Savior.

Even if I’m wrong, this I know for sure. Our Heavenly Father hears sincere prayer. No prayer according to God’s will is wasted. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus Christ, I am a sinner. I know you suffered and died on the cross and rose again in order to wash away my sins and to save me. I acknowledge my sins, and I Repent of those sins and I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. I believe and I receive the gift of salvation. Thank you, Lord Jesus!

The Lord Jesus Christ’s Words

1 John 4:19, We love because He first loved us.

Romans 5:8, but God proves His love for us in that while we still were sinners, Christ died for us.

There can be no doubt about how much God loves us, and the love Jesus had for even those who hated Him.

Matthew 22: 37-39, He said to him, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it; you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

If you look at the last verse and think about it, you will probably conclude that it is too difficult, or in some cases impossible.

A good place to start, is to read everything printed in red in the New Testament. These words were spoken by Jesus Himself. Everything written in the Bible is true. Don’t mess yourself up by applying human logic to every single point. God does not see the way we do.

As an example of family and love let us look at the human level and your children. If you are a loving parent, there is nothing a child can do to make you stop loving them. You forgive them for what they do, and try to help them in any way you can.

Our Father, God Almighty wants each of His children to be a part of His Heavenly family. Our Father Knows things are tough on Earth because he is God and He knows everything. He does not demand works on our part to earn His love. He knows we are deeply flawed, but He loves us anyway. We could not redeem ourselves, So He sent Jesus to do for us what we could not do for ourselves, and that is pay for our sins.

When we accepted Jesus as our savior, we received the Holy Spirit. He came to us as a guide, helper, advisor. If we let Him, He will help us become 100% members of our Fathers Heavenly family.

Commit yourself and everything in your life to the Lord God, follow His lead, and even the bumpiest ride cannot take away you’re being a child of the Living God. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus Christ, I am a sinner. I know you suffered and died on the cross and rose again in order to wash away my sins and to save me. I acknowledge my sins and I Repent of those sins, and I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. I believe and I receive the gift of Salvation. Thank you, Lord Jesus.

An Amazing Surprise

The message for today is not complicated, and not hard to follow, but it can lead to an answer to all your prayers. It is short, but time-tested, and beyond expectations.

Recently I ran into a problem that seemed impossible. So I thought about 1 Peter 5:7 and without any hesitation I did what it says. There was only one problem. Over the next few days, things didn’t seem to get any better. I could not get the problem off my mind. The fact I had to face was I didn’t really cast my cares.

I believe in prayer, I have seen God work in my life, as well as many other people that I know. I was puzzled. I wanted results and I wasn’t getting them. I knew how Much God loves me, and I knew that he is always with me.  Another very important fact that I always know, is that he never ever lets me down, so the problem must be something I did, or didn’t do.

I decided to have a heart-to-heart talk with Father God. I started to tell Him everything on my heart and mind.  I saw mistakes I made, problems I had, times He literally saved my life, always taking care of me.

It could be this was the first time I saw the whole picture, and Father God and His plan for me. I finally realized how often I had satan fighting me, and me fighting myself.

I ended up doing the one thing I never did in my life. I surrendered totally and counted on God’s grace and mercy. Now I know the full power of casting your cares on Him because he cares for you. Get out of the way and trust Him. I guess you could say that through the Holy Spirit, prayer, and perseverance, I was finally able to get me out of the picture totally.

Try it and see. God already knows your story. God also knows in order to get His Best, you must know you, and surrender everything to win. Get out of your own way. I know what I’m talking about because I’ve been there a number of times in the past, but God willing not too much anymore. God bless you and your family.

Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

According To God’s Plan

Jeremiah 29:11, For surely, I know the plans I have for you, says Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future and a hope.

Have you ever been frustrated because you knew you are supposed to live according to God’s plan, but you couldn’t figure out how?

Let’s look at this a piece at a time. First of all, you must remember that God does not see things as we see them. God sees His plan through spiritual eyes. We not only don’t know most of His plan, but we are also looking with human eyes.

Proverbs 16: 9, the human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.

Ephesians 1:4, just as He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be Holy and blameless before Him in love.

God does not identify a task that needs to be done, then runs around looking for someone to do it. God identifies an individual and fits him in the task that was planned for him before creation.

Most of us think, when we should be trusting. Not one person is here by accident. God had a plan, a list of each person, and where and how they fit into His plan before creation.

God created the family. Husband, wife, and children. The man is the spiritual head of the family. He is charged with setting a good example, of being a true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ by leading by his example. The spiritual health of the family is in his hands.

The wife besides being an equal partner with her husband, provides the love, caring, nourishing, and well-being of the household.

The sad part in all this is that so many of us do not realize the importance of each family in God’s overall plan. Got attaches great importance to family because as Generations go by, future residents of Heaven depend on each generation, nurturing each future generation through time.

So you see, the majority of jobs that God has us do in his plan, is what we think is ordinary. Fortunately, God does not see it that way, He just looks at our heart and how we follow Him.

Proverbs 22:6, train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray.

So, it all comes down to this. Ask yourself, what do you think is more important to God than doing our part in the teaching and training of future citizens of Heaven, who also happened to be God’s children. God bless you and your family.

God’s Word Is Truth

2 Timothy 3:16-17, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for direction, for instruction and righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Many people never read the Bible. There are all kinds of reasons for that, most of them do not hold water as they say. Common excuses are, I don’t have time, it is written by men, it is out of date, there are too many things wrong in the Bible. While, most people would agree with these reasons the vast majority of those who agree with it never even looked at the Bible.

This is not condemnation my friends, but an attempt to show you how important the Word of God is. First of all, the Bible was written for your salvation. If the cost of salvation was one chapter per day of meditation, would that be too high a price for eternity with God?

The men that wrote the Bible did so over hundreds of years. They were told to write the words they wrote by God himself. When we read the Bible, we just can’t take words out of context or go by what we think. If you read the Old Testament and see it from God’s position, you will find He is not mean, and constantly punishing everybody, as many believe. As far as the Bible being out of date, we aren’t supposed to change the Bible, it is supposed to change us.

Hebrews 13: 8, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

I am not alone when I say that I wish I had known God and His words years ago. We don’t realize what a treasure it is. Following and living by God’s word leads to a well-lived life, and eternity with Him. We need to read the Bible in order to know the blessings that believers are entitled to. How can you know God and who He is and what He can and will do for those who love Him, if you don’t follow the truth as it is written?

1 Thessalonians 5: 24, He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.

Romans 4: 7, Blessed are those who’s  lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

1 John 2:25, And this is the promise that He has promised us-eternal life.

My friends the truth is that what we can do for God with our best efforts is like we are the tiniest star, and He is the whole universe times infinity. God bless you and your family.

Benefits Of Patience

Romans 8:25, But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Patience is one of the hardest virtues to develop, but it is one of the most rewarding. Patience, if we master it can change our lives for good.

2 Peter 3:9, the Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering (patient) toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Anyone who knows God Almighty, realizes how important patience is to Him. Patience for one thing shows God that we believe His Word, and Trust He will do what His Word tells us.

As we know by now God’s timing is critical for us to follow the right path. It is very simple, but difficult for most people to do. If we pray from our hearts according to God’s will, it will be answered, but In God’s Time, not ours. If we believe and then get ahead of God’s timing, it will be a disaster. So, you see patience is the important element of prayer answered.

Habakkuk 2: 3, For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Ecclesiastes 3:1, To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under Heaven.

A mild but accurate warning. For a person to develop patience, God will test you. God will wear you down, but it is for your good. Does the trip the Hebrews took 40 years to accomplish what could have been done in 11 days if they believed, ring a bell?

1 Thessalonians 5: 14, Now we exhort you Brethren, warn those who are unruly, Comfort the faint-hearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.

Something to think about. Every person you see is either following God’s plan or their own. We don’t know which, and we should not judge. If someone tests your patience, though it is difficult sometimes, pray for them. A personal note. I went around the mountain many times and believe me it is better to be patient than to make all those trips. God bless you and your family.

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Can The Dead Come Back

Hebrews 9:27, And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.

Ecclesiastes 12: 7, then the dust will return to the Earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it

Psalm 146: 4, his Spirit departs, he returns to his Earth, and that very day his plans perish

As you can see from these verses taken from the Word of God the Bible, the idea that a dead person can come back outside of the power of God is impossible.

Leviticus 19:31,  give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits do not seek after them to be defiled by them; I am the Lord your God.

The Bible mentions good and evil spirits. The subject is brought up in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament. We find out if we read the Word of God that good spirits answer to God and the evil spirits answer to satan. Each of us is led by one or the other.

1 Samuel 28: 11-19,  tells of the witch of Endor conjuring up to prophet Samuel on behalf of King Saul. Was that really Samuel? The image of Samuel was a messenger sent by God in the image of Samuel to give a message to Saul.

Just as good spirits can appear to us as whatever God tells them to do, so can evil spirits be sent by satan in the form that he thinks will get people’s attention. In any case they all come with a purpose, and a message of some kind. They usually come as someone we know or are likely to listen to.

Spirits can influence for good or evil,  and we don’t even realize It. Possession usually occurs when someone reaches a level so evil that they are as one with that spirit. You can find stories of demon possession in the Bible especially the New Testament.

Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are led by the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. This Spirit shows us the way of God’s plan and eternal life. If anyone claims the ability to talk to or call up dead people, heed this warning. It is a case of evil spirits talking to evil spirits. Your destruction is their goal In order to keep you from the one true God, and salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ.

This message gives you an idea of what you can find in the Bible that applies to real life and what many people believe. You can believe for your eternal benefit, or without even realizing it, you are paving the way to the other place. This subject of spirits and coming back from the dead and all that goes with it is too big a subject to cover in one small message. The only full story with absolute truth is found in the Bible. It is fascinating and critically important that you realize what the real story is. God bless you and your family.

God's Promises Sunday

Another Promise

Hebrews 13: 8, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Joshua 21: 45,  not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.

If you hear the news,  or take notice of how the world and our country have changed, you might feel very concerned about the future. As people start to worry, they panic and start to make decisions out of desperation.

The first, thing we should do is to read and think about today’s verses.  Since none of us can change what happens it is time to open our eyes,  hearts, and minds to see if there are any options.

Revelation 1: 1, the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to His servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to His servant John.

Psalm 91:4 -6, He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at Noonday.

Psalm 138: 7, though I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life; You stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand delivers me.

If you really think without preconceived notions, and an open mind, you will see the only answer to the whole situation is the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 3:16, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.

The most well-known example of God’s protection of His children, occurred in Egypt at the time of The Exodus. Egypt was struck with 10 plagues, none of which affected the Israelites.

We have the same God today. He will get His children through the worst of circumstances. These verses are facts as well as promises. The Bible contains hundreds of prophecies. Everything up until now has happened not one was wrong, so why would we not think that the rest will be fulfilled too?

You can get by yourself and talk to God himself. Tell Him about your fears and doubts. Be honest with Him and yourself, and He will make Himself known to you. The Prayer of Salvation from the heart will put you under His love and care for eternity. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Failure Is Not Forever

2 Corinthians 12:9, And He said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly I would rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

It is common knowledge that every person on Earth has experienced failure many times. It is not possible to live and not fail. Is that good or bad?

When you’re trying to do anything, the chances are 50-50 that your effort will fail. What do you do then. Do you get angry and give up, or do you accept this failure as a learning experience?

Philippians 4: 13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

An example of something that people fail at the most is reading the Bible. I don’t have to list all the excuses, because we know what they are. Believe it or not the Bible is the greatest source of wisdom as well as the directions to eternal life.

Proverbs 24: 16, for a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.

Psalm 37: 23-24, the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delights in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast out; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

You guessed it, the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have a problem like drinking, porn, and any number of vices, you constantly hear, don’t go there, don’t do that. Many non-Christian counselors aren’t much help either.

No man can do anything by himself. These are spiritual attacks led by satan himself. The only way to defeat him is spiritually and that is through the word of God. You will find the answers there. The power of the name Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who is always with you will makes things happen.

You can change your life right now. Call on the Lord Jesus Christ, repent, and commit your life to him. Read the instruction book, the Bible.

James 4:7, therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Always remember that the Lord is good and does good to those that love Him, and satan is evil and creates chaos and destruction. Yes my friends it is a spiritual battle, and the only way we can survive, is by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
