Place In Heaven

It Is Written,1 Corinthians 2:9, eye has  not seen nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
Heaven is a controversial  subject. Everyone has an opinion about whether it exists, what it is like, and how to get there. The Bible is pretty clear about all of this. Ephesians 28, for by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. And John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
As you can see these verses and a number of others tell it like it really is. Following what the Word says, it behooves us to follow God's Word in order to get to Heaven. We believe there is such a place as Heaven, because Jesus said so. In Proverbs 19:21 it says there are many plans in a man's heart, nevertheless the Lord's counsel that will stand.
The Proverbs verse especially, confuses many people. They wonder what God's plan is, and how do they follow it in order to get to Heaven. There is a simple answer.
In order to follow God's plan for you, commit your day to the Lord, every morning. Ask the Holy Spirit to help and guide you. Then relax, and listen for His voice during the day. He will guide and help you.
Remember this. God has a separate plan for each person. There is no one better than someone else, so there is no reason to try to be like someone else. God judges the heart. Faith, thankfulness, love, and forgiveness as well as many others are examples.
The bottom line is however, when it comes right down to it, it is by faith we are saved, and not by works. Our works reflect whether or not we are saved, and it is a sign to others.  God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Enjoy

It Is Written, Ecclesiastes 5:18, here is what I have seen: it is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage.
Enjoying your life makes God happy. Does that surprise you? Proverbs 17:22, tells us that a merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones. This proverb seems to encourage us to do just that.
There is a real problem to living this joyful life though. That problem is the existence of satan. Before you scoff at that idea, consider the following.
In order to achieve lasting enjoyment, it is vitally important to do it God's way. When you follow the direction of the Holy Spirit, you find enjoyment in many things that you may never have even thought of before. Even old things seem to take on a new meaning.
Then you have the times that you prayed for something, and things turn out even better than you imagined. Interacting with the Holy Spirit, gives you unimaginable joy.
The fly in the ointment as they say, comes about if you forget where your blessings come from, and you go after things of the world on your own. Things in this world can separate you from God, and steal your enjoyment. It can also separate you from God if you're not careful.
When you are happy, God is happy. If you lose your joy by listening to satan, repent and God will restore your relationship with Him because He loves you. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Nothing to Lose

It Is Written, Psalm 118:5-6, I called on the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
It is a normal thing for the average person to be concerned about the future, and the situation in the world. Living with problems we never had to deal with in this hate filled world, is quite bewildering. Who has the answer? Anyone? How can you know?
First let us recognize that believers are not average. Because of the Word of God, the Bible, we know the whole story. The present and future therefore is not scary, when you know that God controls everything.
We do our part by trusting God for everything, and following His Holy Spirit. This way of doing things, is not some fantasy, or living in denial. It is real.
When you talk to the Holy Spirit, He will guide you in the perfect path. You choose if you will follow Him or not. The thing that makes everything work for your good, is letting Him take total control over your life.
Giving up control may seem scary, but realize this fact. None of us has control of anything. Our mistakes and problems are a result of our control. Trust in the Holy Spirit. What have you got to lose? Let the one who created all things, control all things. God bless you and your family.     Praise The Lord!

The Aaronic Blessing

It Is Written, Numbers 6:22-26, "the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make Hs face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace".
God told Moses to instruct Arron and his sons to say this blessing over the people. The English translation does not give the full meaning. The following is taken from the One New Man Bible, which is the closest to the original meaning, because it was taken from the Hebrew Scriptures.
The Lord will bless you.
This speaks of material blessing for life, health, and prosperity.
And He will keep you.
This means to guard your material blessings, to protect your life and health, to protect you against all evil, sickness, poverty, and calamity.
The Lord will make His face shine upon you.
The translation for the word shine, is light. A symbol of happiness, purity, friendship. God's face shining upon you, symbolizes the outpouring of Divine love and salvation.
And He will be gracious to you.
He will give you grace in the eyes of your fellow man. He will make you lovable and beloved in the eyes of others-believers
The Lord will lift up His countenance to you.
For God to turn His attention to you, means lifting His head to search you out, to cast His loving care upon you.
And He will establish your shalom.
Shalom is usually translated peace. It means to set, to establish you,  health, welfare, security, justice, tranquility, and also freedom from all disaster. No good thing withheld.
It has become tradition that a father pronounce this blessing over each of his children. The blessing is more powerful, when you understand the original meaning. The Hebrews believed in blessings, and it was a way of life. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Blessing or Cursing

It Is Written, 1 Peter 3:9, not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you are called to do this, that you may inherit a blessing.
At one time or another, we have all heard of the power of words, positive, and negative.
Blessings, as far as I can tell, fall into one of two categories. I will call them physical, and spiritual. Today we will deal with physical, and in the next couple of weeks the spiritual.
People for the most part, realize that talking to their children in negative ways, can ruin their lives forever. Remember this important fact. Negative words to anyone is in fact, cursing them. Better to say nothing, then to curse someone.
So then, if we speak positive, encouraging words to someone, the opposite must be true. At that point we are blessing them. People that are encouraged, are generally happier, and more productive.
Caution here. Flattery is not encouragement. The truth is probably negative if it hurts someone for no good reason. Do not use truth as an excuse for hurting someone. Rather say nothing, as most of the time, it is not necessary to speak.
The best way to deal with the entire situation, follows an old adage. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you would not like to hear something, do not say it to someone else. The Lord says we should bless people, not curse them. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!
