Asking God Why

It Is Written, Proverbs 3:5-6, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
Have you ever noticed how many times we question God?  We ask questions like, if God knew what man would do, why did He create him. The answer is, God wanted man, His greatest creation, to spend eternity with Him. God, however, gave man a free will. Man is allowed to make choices, because God does not want to push Himself on anyone that does not want Him. God allows those choices so that when man is condemned, even they realize that God is just, and they deserve punishment.
Another question that comes up frequently is, why did God allow that to happen? Life is full of interactions among people. Events bring out the best and worst in people. Something good eventually comes from tragedy, even if we don't see it at the time. Only God knows the whole picture.
Then we have the old, where was God? God wasn't around, because most of the world rejects Him, and doesn't want Him around. God will not go against their free will, even when they decide to hate Him.
How do we dare question God, our creator? We question Him probably because of our arrogance, pride, or lack of knowledge of His Word. To ask why is to slap Him in the face, and tell Him that He messed up. We act like we could have done it better.
We should get on our knees and say Lord, forgive us for thinking about even asking why. In order to get an idea of what God thinks about it all, read Job, especially chapters 38-42. God bless you and your family.
Praise The Lord!

You Are The Middleman

It Is Written, Matthew 28:18-20, and Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "all authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you, and low, I am with you always even to the end of the age." Amen.
If you take that verse literally, it is easy to see yourself as the middleman. Since Jesus is no longer on the earth as flesh and blood, His disciples were given the task of leading others to Him.
Jesus instructions for us, in these times, is to represent Him, and reflect His light. In order for us to do that, let us look at acts 1:8, Jesus speaking, but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
If we listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, and do as He directs us, we will fulfill our part of the great commission. We will meet people, and be in situations that the Holy Spirit has arranged. The important thing to remember, is to wait for His leading in His time. If we don't, we will mess up, and not do what had to occur at that time to affect something else.
All of this may seem strange, or like the twilight zone, but it is all true. When we follow the Holy Spirit, everything is made to fall into place. Don't forget, even Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit, and His miracles, were through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says so. God bless you and your family.
Praise The Lord!

A New Christian

It Is Written, Matthew 16:24, then Jesus told His disciples, if anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
When the average person comes to Christ, they usually do not have any idea about what to expect. A new Christian comes to realize very quickly, that the only rules they must obey, are what the Bible says. No human rules or rituals, surprises most people.
They have joy in their hearts when they realize that they are saved by the grace of God, and not by countless works that still made them wonder if they did enough.
The most difficult thing for most people to believe is, that no matter how many sins they had, or how bad they have been, all is forgiven and forgotten by God, if they sincerely repent.
Then you have the fact that the Holy Spirit comes to live in your heart. When you learn what that means, you will face life and the world, knowing that you will always have His help and guideance, so you have nothing to fear. There will be trials, but He will get you through.
Know that when you are saved, you are saved forever. The Holy Spirit will guide your life according to God's plan for you, and Heaven is in your future. God bless you and your family.
Praise the Lord!

Search For Happiness

It Is Written, Psalm 37:4,  delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Everyone has their own idea of what happiness is. Contentment, pleasure, satisfaction, joy, enjoyment, are just a few of the definitions of happiness from the dictionary.
As humans, we have our own ideas about happiness as it applies to our lives, and how we go about achieving it. There are as many ideas about happiness as there are people.
If you read the book of Ecclesiastes, you see what Solomon thought about his life, as he looked back at it when he was an old man. It was about the futility of life.
Ecclesiastes 7:14, in the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him.
When you consider stuff, and its acquisition as happiness, you get disappointed every time. Consider, Proverbs 16:3, commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
Contentment and satisfaction can last a lifetime, with no regrets when you are old. That happens only when the Lord is the focus of your life. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!
