Sin

It Is Written, 1 John 3:8, he who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Sin is in many ways, a very controversial subject. Sin in today's world means different things to different people.
Society for the most part, in this politically correct world, view everything as OK. It seems that no form of self-indulgence is taboo. Many of these people do not recognize the existence of hell, so they go about doing what ever makes them feel good, even if it is outrageous and hurts other people.
You even have differences in opinions from so-called believers. Some believe that you can work off your sins, and get to Heaven by your good works. Others believe that you are saved by grace, through what Jesus did on the cross.
The correct answer is, what does God say? When you read the Bible, which is the Word of God, you'll find that His idea of sin, seems impossible to live up to. As a matter of fact, by ourselves it is impossible.
Jesus says you have committed sins like adultery and many others, even if it is only in your heart. In God's opinion, and it is his opinion that counts, you are just as guilty as if you did it in the flesh.
Of course God knew all of this, so he sent His only Son to forgive all of our sins, past, present, and future. All we had to do for salvation, is ask forgiveness, repent, and accept Jesus as our one and only Savior. So there you have it. Sin is what God says it is, and Jesus did for us what we could not do for ourselves, that is forgiveness of sins. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

By His Grace

It Is Written, Romans 6:14, for sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
The phrase "by the grace of God" puzzles many people. The easiest way to describe it, is the Bible definition. It is the gift from God, not earned by us.
As you read the Word, you find that this gift is given during the acceptance of Jesus as Savior. It is undeserved, and cannot be attained by works. Another thing many people don't recognize as being grace, is, all the blessings that goes with it.
The most important thing, is with salvation you become a child of God. Eternal life with God is another. We don't realize how much it really means, because we receive it all by faith, and we don't realize how long forever is.
We also have direct access to our Father in Heaven, Jesus the son, and the Holy Spirit. To start listing all of the benefits would take a very long time. You will however find them all in the Bible.
All blessings we receive, even the ones we take for granted, like our five senses, are a gift from God. Everything we think say and do is because of His unmerited grace and favor toward us. If you look in your concordance at the back of your Bible under grace, you will find many verses that explaine exactly what grace is. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Undeniable Proof

The prophecies of Isaiah 53:1-12, make for very interesting reading, and should be a part of every Christian's life. It is very important for people to meditate on this chapter and these verses for a number of reasons.
Hundreds of years before Jesus, Isaiah wrote of what Jesus would go through to bring us salvation. I have read this chapter many times and it never failed to grab my heart. I always marvel that Jesus sacrificed for me and everyone else including you my friend. It seems that Isaiah's words inspired deep repentance in many people.
The Bible speaks of many prophecies, some applying to Jesus Himself. We also hear about God's promises, and the fact that He cannot lie. Many of us read and believe the Bible. We read the Word of God, and sometimes fail to recognize the deep truths of it. You might say we have head knowledge instead of heart knowledge.
Praise the Lord for the Holy Spirit, and His works in our lives. The other day I watched a movie called Jesus of Nazareth. During the end of the crucifixion scene, the narrator recited several verses from Isaiah 53.
It struck me how accurate Isaiah was when he said by Jesus stripes we are healed. I finally got heart knowledge of the truths in the Bible. Fact of the matter is every prophecy that was ever given by God to a prophet, has been fulfilled exactly as it was given. There is not one prophecy that was not fulfilled exactly. When you look at it it just goes to prove that God's Words are true, so everything the Bible says, must also be true. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Don't Blame God

It Is Written, Romans 3:10-18, there is none righteous, no not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; in the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.
When you read these verses, it should become absolutely clear that if blame is to be placed on  anyone, it should be placed on each of us. Which one of us can say these verses don't describe us to some extent.
All of us have used our free will to disobey God. Since our society has been turning to political correctness we have taken God out of everything. We have taken God out of our daily life, our country, our schools, everything there is. It has gotten to the point where I need not tell you that our courts and government have done so many outrageous things against the Word of God, that only God's love keeps us from being destroyed.
It comes right down to this my friends. How can any of us blame God when we reject Him and accept what satan does. God does not cause all the problems in this world, satan does. So let's look at it the way it is. God allows us to use our free will, and it is up to us to use it properly. We must all make a choice about who we follow, God, or satan. If we choose to reject God, then we have absolutely no right to blame Him for anything. We must look to ourselves. So before any of us can say why did God allow that, or why did God do that, we must search our conscience first, and realize we have sinned. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

A New Thought

It Is Written, James 4:12, there is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?
If you have been a church member for any length of time, or have a Christian friend, you probably know that God tells us not to judge others. Have you ever thought about the reasons that God has for hating judging, and why it is a sin in God's eyes? Offhand, I can think of at least two possibilities.
First of all, God created everything that exists. Man is without a doubt God's greatest creation. God gave man dominion over the earth, including every living thing. God also gave each person a responsibility in life.
When we judge someone else, we are basically saying that God messed up in some way, because we feel that others are flawed in some way. We act like we know better than God. Remember each person has to answer to God for what they do, or don't do. He does not need our opinion or help.
When we judge someone, we are saying that we are better than them. When that happens, we commit one of the most common, and deadliest sins. Pride is the biggest cause of destruction of men's souls. God hates pride so much, because He loves us. If we don't repent, God might lose one of His children. Be aware, just let God take care of it. I found out that if we want to judge someone, we should judge ourselves. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

God's Law Stands

It Is Written, Romans 6:23, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God's law is written down in a book, called the Bible. It was given by God to the Holy Spirit, who in turn inspired the people who wrote it.
God's laws were written as instructions to His children, so that they could join Him in eternity when their time on earth was finished. They are never changing instructions. They are the same for all generations, and not subject to change.
Look at it this way. Thousands of years ago, liquid water was wet. It is wet today, and will be wet as long as the earth exists.
Many people in our world today, are trying to rewrite God's law, by out and out going against it. They put their own interpretation on everything and presume to know what God was thinking when He wrote them.. They think the Bible should conform to them, instead of them conforming to the Bible. The Bible tells us in countless verses what happens to those who refuse or distort God's law.
No matter what excuse people have for abortion, homosexuality, thinking Jesus is not the only way to be saved, and countless other changes and distortions they think of, it  will never change God's laws. Some people even think that if they get God out of their lives, they will have no responsibility concerning what God says. God says what He means, and means what He says. Read and follow only God's Word, not someone else's. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

God Is Our Fortress

It Is Written, Psalm 91:2, I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.
It doesn't matter where you live in this entire world, you can't help feeling that the world is going down the toilet. The news is full of violence, corruption, and extraordinary evil. Where can you go to escape? How can you prepare yourself for what is happening now, and is yet to come?
The answer is not stockpiling supplies and finding a secluded place to stay. Money will not help, and guns will not protect us during times of anarchy. Chaos is started and fueled by satan. So the question is what do you do next?
In Psalm 46:1, it says that God is our refuge and our strength. Nothing man-made can save anyone. The evil is overwhelming. We only fool ourselves if we think we can overcome the circumstances. satan is an evil spirit with incredible power. By ourselves we cannot fight him. In order to defeat him, we must operate in the spirit.
You may be asking, how can I do that? The answer is Jesus Christ. He defeated satan, sin, and death. After Jesus resurrection, He gave us power over satan in His Name. James 4:7 says submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Getting into God's Word, and staying in it, will give you a good foundation, establish your faith, and get you through the toughest times. The Lord is our source for every good thing, and He wants us to count on  Him. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Let Your Light Shine

It Is Written, Matthew 5:14-16, you are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.
If you are a Christian, you are probably familiar with these verses. Most people do not know what they really mean, and a lot of them, do not even try to find out.
Here is a brief description of what Jesus meant. We all know that if you cover or hide a light, it doesn't accomplish its purpose. Jesus said you are a light in the darkness of this world.
When you accept Jesus as your Savior, you have Him with you all of the time, and the Holy Spirit within you to guide you. When we received the fruits of the spirit at salvation, Galatians 5:22-23, and live by them in our hearts, and everyday life, we reflect the light of Jesus. The closer we get to Him, the brighter the light.
If we keep all of this to ourselves, and do not share them with others, it is like hiding our light under a bushel. Our reflected light is supposed to shine in the darkness to show other people the way Jesus expects us to live.
When we share these fruits with others by our actions, they see Jesus light and salvation reflected through us. Make your light shine in today's darkness in the world. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Turn It Over

It Is Written, Proverbs 3:5-6, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.
One of the hardest things for most people to do, is to turn their entire life over to God. They feel they are giving up control, because they don't really know or trust God yet.
Here is a harsh fact. You and I never had control over anything. Ecclesiastes 9:11 says it all. Time and chance happen to all. From the smallest thing to the biggest, we have free will to make a choice. God's will or our will. Let's look at both and see what makes the most sense.
First let's do it our way. We gather thoughts or facts, some of which might not be correct. So right from the start, we make a flawed decision. To reach our goal, there are at least dozens of things that must happen in perfect order and timing, to accomplish the best result.
If our decision is to let God guide us, He will. When God operates He sees all, and He can correct anything that will not result in the best answer. With God, chance does not enter into it at all. It is His love and mighty power, that makes things happen for those who trust in Him.
So, what makes the most sense to you? God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

A Happy Christian

It Is Written, Proverbs 15:13, a glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.
Believe it or not, there are happy people, even in this messed up world. Most of these happy people are true Christians. How is that possible, and how did they get that way?
The answer is simple. They have a relationship with Jesus. As most of us know, in order to have a relationship with someone, you must really know and trust that person. You are probably wondering how it is possible to build a relationship with someone you cannot see. That answer is also simple, but at the same time, very difficult for most people when they start.
There are two main keys to building that relationship with God. Spend time meditating on the Word, and talking to the Holy Spirit as much as possible. As you read the Word, and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, and live according to the Word, and guidance from the Holy Spirit, you will have a true relationship with God, before you even realize it.
As you lean more on God, you will lean less on the world and what it says. When you trust God completely for everything, you will be happy too. After all, God is the only way to true happiness. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Looking At Our Flag

It Is Written, Romans 12:2, and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
As I write this message, I do so with a less than happy heart. Up until 1973, when the supreme court legalized murder, in the form of abortion,I was proud of my country, and seeing our flag, moved me. But the country I felt so good about, started on a downward spiral that picks up more speed every day. As we see how our justice system, and government operate, it is easy to see the influence for evil.
Our court system, headed by the Supreme Court, has strayed from their job of interpreting our Constitution. They have become lawmakers, with a lifetime job, and no accountability. They are largely responsible for our political correctness. The rule of law the way the founding fathers envisioned it, is all but gone.
I am not a doom and gloom guy. This can all be reversed. Prayer is a powerful tool. We must all play a part that many Christians have avoided for years. That part is voting. When we don't vote, we do not have a choice about what gets forced on us.
Pray with your heart, and vote for people who will bring God back to our land. We have governments at all levels, who have lifetime jobs. Many of them have a goal of being reelected, so they can continue to take care of themselves only, and not the people who trusted them.
Let us take back our country. No vote, is a vote. If we don't vote, we will get what we deserve. Don't be fooled, it will get worse if we don't step up and do something now. Are you going to do your part, and vote the Bible? God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

A New Christian

It Is Written,2 Corinthians 5:17, therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.
When people receive Christ, it is normal for them to want to do extraordinary things for God. Many want to become preachers, so they can tell the world about Jesus. Almost all of these new Christians don't realize that they only took the first step.
To be a real follower of Christ, Matthew 10:38 says, whoever does not take up his cross and follow me, is not worthy of me. Mark 8:34, Matthew 16:24, Luke 9:23, all referred to taking up the cross and following Jesus.
Not sure what that means? The quick answer to that question is, live your daily life, without complaint, realizing that you are doing what God intended for you to do. God has a great plan for each of us, and that plan is unlocked to us, as we get closer to God, through His Word, the Bible.
A relationship with God, is an ongoing, lifetime thing. The rewards far and away exceedes the effort. You will walk in the greatest peace in your heart, that will be beyond measure. If you really want to please God, and you are starting out, it is not as hard as you think. I suggest you read Isaiah chapter 58:6-11.  When you follow that, you are doing what God wants you to do. God Bless You and Your Family. Praise the Lord!
