Words Concerning God

Greetings My Friends
Every morning when I get up I say, I thank you, I praise you, and I love you Lord. Even though I mean what I say, the words sometimes seem like they don't really mean very much. The reason I believe, is that we have a tendency to repeat things without thinking, kind of like a parrot.
Some examples to think about. Someone sneezes, and without thinking we say bless you. Why? When you really bless someone, you are passing on the blessing God gave to Abraham and his descendents. Blessing someone is a loving, powerful, and sacred thing. It should never be taken lightly. We need to put a little thought into what we say, and not bring something as beautiful as a blessing into the commonplace.
Another example. Suppose you were someplace with a lot of other people. The leader of the group tells everyone that they are to be killed the next day. He also says that if they all do a certain thing, whoever does it will be spared. When it happens as he said, how would you feel? Casual or grateful. Sounds silly? Ever hear of Passover?
Think about the worst things you could ever imagine happening to you. Picture the most horrible tortures you can think of. This would go on and on forever with no chance of escape by dying. Then someone you don't like or maybe even you hate, steps up and says, I'll take your place. You can go to Hawaii. Sound impossible? Well my friends, except for the Hawaii part, Jesus did it for us. How would you feel? Can't describe the joy probably.
There have been many movies about Jesus. The miracles, the crucifixion, and the resurrection. Many people feel that it was no big deal. They think and even say that He didn't feel anything because He was God. Then there are some who say it never happened in the first place.
Even though the crucifixion was countless times worse than portrayed in the passion of the Christ, you still get a tiny glimpse of the hatred for Jesus and how he suffered. If you watch this movie with your brain turned on, you would need the hardest heart possible to not be moved.
He did it all for us. We were forgiven, healed, and offered salvation. Every time He gets punched, whipped and abused, if we really think about it we will realize that our sins are what He was being beaten and abused for. Jesus wasn't just a movie for our entertainment, but a real person, who died for us. God gave us His son to save us. Would you give your son to someone who hated you or you knew would hate him? Think about what He did.
It did happen, He felt everything, and His love for us is what caused it all, because he wanted us to spend eternity with Him. So my friends, if you haven't already, start meditating on the things of God. Really think about what he has done for you, and whether or not you take it all for granted, or even care. I don't say this in a nasty way, because I to have been guilty. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart and mind, so that you can appreciate what God has done for you, and what thoughts and words mean to the rest of His people.

Jesus Power In You

Greetings My Friends
When I was at Bible study last Sunday, the person who was the leader, told the group that he felt that a couple of people in the group, were about to receive a revelation from the Holy Spirit. He mentioned this a couple of times. We concluded this study, and attended the Sunday service at the same location.
The pastor started a series on the Holy Spirit. As he was talking, a thought came to me that I would call a revelation. This revelation as I will call it, made the idea of prayer so powerful that I feel I have to share it. It is one of those things that you totally understand in your own mind, but have some difficulty explaining it to someone else, because words seem inadequate.
As I write this, I ask the Holy Spirit to open hearts so that others see it the way it was showed to me. I realize that many people may already know what I am about say, but I feel compelled to say it anyway.
God created the universe by His words. He spoke everything into existence. He said "light be" and there was light. Whenever He spoke to anything, it had no choice, it had to obey. The gospel of John tells us that in the first few verses.
When God sent His only son to earth on a rescue mission, He told Jesus what the mission was, and gave Him the same power through the Holy Spirit, that He had during creation. God gave Jesus a helper who happened to be the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was temporarily human when He was on the earth. Jesus had no power of His own to do the works He was supposed to do. He acted for God through the Holy Spirit. Because of the Holy Spirit, every word that Jesus spoke had to be obeyed.
When Jesus spoke to His apostles after His resurrection, He told them that He would send them a helper. The same helper that made creation happen, helped Jesus, and made Him rise again from the dead. He told the apostles to preach the word to all men, cast out demons, heal the sick, and make disciples. Jesus spoke and so it was.
When Jesus spoke, He did it for all generations to come. We now take our turn. We are in the same position as Jesus was. The same helper is ours. The same command He gave to the apostles applied to all believers. By His word, which must be obeyed, we are charged with doing His work until He comes back. Our words spoken in His name, must be obeyed. When you realize that, you also realize He gave you the faith that is required to make it happen.
So the bottom line is this. Pray in Jesus name, speak the words that the Bible backs up, and what you speak to, must obey. Just as you had a father, and he had a father, and so on down the line, the bloodline is there. When we became children of God, we stepped into His bloodline. To put it in a carnal away, it is like carrying on the family business.

Are We Blind?????

Greetings My Friends
When you spend quiet time with the Lord every day, you may be surprised to find out how enlightening it can be. Quiet time the way most people do it, is to get by yourself, talk to the Lord, and just wait to hear that small voice within.
I'll give you a for instance. I am sure we have all been amused by the fact that the Pharisees wanted to see a sign that Jesus was the son of God. The thought that occurred to me was how ridiculous could they be? Where were they when all of Jesus miracles were going on? They must have been there, because they were persecuting Him for things that He had done.
Take the apostles. They lived with Jesus over three years, and saw everything He did. After Jesus fed the crowd with a few loaves and fish, you would think they would know exactly what would happen a second time. Apparently they didn't. As we say now, they didn't have a clue. It makes you wonder if they had any brains. We can't judge them too harshly though, because we aren't any better than they were.
All of us at one time or another, have wondered if Jesus or God the father loves us. We constantly ask God to show us even a little bit of His love. We even gets frustrated and begin to doubt because we may not feel something we think we should feel.
Well my friends, get ready for a real shocker. Our lives are full of examples of His love for us. We are alive, God sent his only son to die for us to forgive our sins, and make salvation possible. That's just the beginning.
We are blessed in ways we don't even realize. How many disasters have we avoided? How many mistakes did we make, and not pay a heavy price. How about our loved ones? The list goes on and on. We have the Holy Spirit as a helper, teacher, and guide, if we take advantage of it. We are so blessed in so many things, we don't even realize the blessings we have because we take everything for granted as if we deserve them.
At one time I used to laugh about how blind I thought many people in Bible times were. Then one day the Holy Spirit started to show me, that we are no different than they were. There is an old saying that you wouldn't notice something, even if it fell on you.
All I can say for myself is, all I have to do is look around me, and look for examples of God's love for me. You don't have to look very far. I find that I am loved beyond measure, even though I do take things for granted. I am thankful, that my eyes are finally starting to open.

Be All You Can Be

Greetings My Friends
That is one of the mottos of the United States Army. It implies that whatever you decide to do, you can do it. While this is true to some extent, it is not a guarantee. Many people have had tough lives because they believed that totally. I don't say this in a negative, doomsday kind of way.
When you decide to do something, take a look at the reality of what you want. It may sound silly, but if you are 5 foot tall and you want to be a superstar in the NBA, your chances are not good. Okay, so it is a bit extreme, but it is an example.
When God created everything, he gave each thing limits as to what it could do and where it would live. Just as a polar bears would probably not survive in the jungle, because they were not made that way. Everything has a limit.
Man has been blessed in countless ways. Man has practically no limits on Earth, when compared to any other creature. I believe we are created to live in a particular place and have a particular job that we are to do. I also believe, that if we are following God's plan we are content. If we aren't, the Holy Spirit is trying to nudge us back to the right path.
God puts things in our hearts. If we pray about it and proceed, and do not have confusion, fear, or any constant negative, we will succeed. At that point we will be doing all we can do, and being all we can be.
I found out that if I get a negative feeling about something, or I am confused, I just drop it. A few times in the past, I proceeded anyway, and failed miserably. If you really want to be all you can be, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and what is in your heart.
I know for a fact because of some of my experiences and that of a couple of friends, that the Lord opens doors and closes doors. It is always for our good, if we pay attention.
Just to repeat one more time, if you get an idea, pray about it, and proceed. If you encounter confusion or negativity of any kind, just drop it. You will be much happier, and at some point in time you'll see how it all worked for your good.

Relationship With God

Greetings My Friends
I believe the word relationship does not have the same meaning to all people. Most of the time our definition fits the circumstances at the time. True relationship goes much deeper than that.
Suppose you tell someone that you know a particular individual. The person you are talking to, does not know if you know details about the person you are talking about, or you just know of him. I think you'll agree that there is a big difference between the two.
Relationships are the same way. You may know Jesus from the Bible, because of the words you read. That is not a relationship. A true relationship requires that you throw your whole self into it.
Take for example your spouse. You get to know everything about that person. You think of that person all during the hours you are awake. Not constantly, but often. You may say I love you before you are even fully awake. You do things that you know will please them. When they are at home, an I love you once or twice a day is beautiful. That my friends is part of a real relationship.
To have a real relationship with Jesus is what he wants too. We are to love the Lord with all of our heart, mind, and body. Sound difficult? Scare you? I think if we work at a relationship with Jesus that is meaningful, we would find that it is well worth the effort. In a true relationship, you know without a doubt how the other person will react to any given situation.
Just get to know Jesus the same way you get to know anything. Study, meditate, and put into practice, what he says in the word. Take a verse of Jesus teaching in context and meditate on it all day. The next day find another verse, and do the same thing. Talk to the Holy Spirit, and ask for guidance.
One morning you will wake up, rub your eyes, and hear yourself saying; good morning Lord, I love you. That my friends is the beginning of a true relationship. You'll also start to realize how much Jesus loves you too.

Sowing Is Not Just Money

Greetings My Friends
Whenever sowing seed is mentioned, you could almost hear the groans from those present. It normally happens because a lot of people don't know the whole story, or they worry about their money. I will give a brief explanation.
First of all, let's take what most people are troubled by. That is tithing with money. All I can tell you is that it works. I have been on a fixed income for quite a few years, so it is easy to think that there will not be an increase, because the income is fixed. That is our kind of thinking, not God's. While my income has not gone up, my expenses have gone way down, in effect giving me much more spending money. The lower expenses had nothing to do with anything that I did.
Next, let's look at the seeds I will call helpfulness. You can help a neighbor, by shoveling snow, raking leaves, even keeping an eye on their house while they are away. Helping neighbors can cause other people to help other neighbors. They may even end up helping you if you need it.
Now let's look at a joyful spirit. Are people at work generally down a lot? Cheer them up by speaking positive words. When I was working, I interacted with all departments on a daily basis. When I came into a department, I told everyone that I came to bring some sunshine into their lives. Some people laughed, but it worked. I benefited, because I had to live up to what I said, and it made me feel good.
If you are a believer, and you work with unbelievers, bring a reflection of Jesus to these people. You don't have to preach. Just reflect Jesus love in what you do. It will become contagious, and the atmosphere of depression will change.
I think you get the idea. You can give yourself, your time, anything you can think of. Remember, whatever kind of seed you plant, that is the harvest that will come. You plant the seed, God makes it grow. If you plant nothing, nothing will grow. So you see, sowing is more than just money.

Dealing With Complainers

Greetings My Friends
In this modern world, everyone, well almost everyone has stress and pressure of all kinds to deal with. It is pretty normal for people to be crabby, angry, depressed, and complaining.
I have even noticed that many people who do not have the same stress and pressure to deal with, act the same way. Some of these people look for something to get upset about. They probably even get upset because they cannot find anything real to get upset about. It has become second nature to them.
After I found Jesus, and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I became one of those who are not overcome very easily by circumstances. Anyone can do the same, it is open to all through Jesus.
I found out with a few neighbors and friends, even family members, how to deal with people who are always in a bad mood. At first I tried to speak faith filled words. It was as if they didn't hear, and were on a mission to complete their litany of disasters. Even the smallest thing, like the mail coming a half-hour late seemed to really upset their day.
After a while of listening to all this stuff, I stuck Jesus name in the conversation, and found that it was a good way to get rid of them. They had to leave all of a sudden
I really like these people and want to help them, but it got to a point where I wanted to hide when I saw them coming. I must admit they were starting to get to me. Finally, the answer that came to me was simple, and it will work for you. As someone is complaining, my mind is praying for them. This by the way is a recent development. After they leave, I send them a silent blessing. I know a few of these people for over 20 years, and I would love to see them find Jesus. I figure if I keep up with my latest remedy they will eventually accept Him.

The Joy Of Salvation

Greetings My Friends
Most of us who have been saved, take it for granted and hardly give it a thought. The greatest gift God could give us through Jesus, and many of us treat it like it is nothing.
I was just as guilty for years, because I didn't know what I had. If I was God, and someone had my attitude, I would probably have taken it back and struck him dead. Fortunately for the world, I am not God, and the God who is, knows only forgiveness  for His creation because of Jesus.
When you ask the typical Christian, and I have, what salvation means to them, they usually tell you that they don't have to go to hell. While that is true, salvation is so much more than that. Religion in general has failed to some degree to teach people about what they are entitled to. People say the prayer of salvation and think that that is all there is to it.
When you become a child of God through salvation, you are entitled to a fabulous life on earth if you follow Jesus. If you study the Word and meditate on it, you will find that if you get yourself out of the picture and do as Jesus did, nothing is impossible to you. As a matter of fact, He told His apostles that they would do greater works than He did by doing it in His name.
The word talks about the Holy Spirit and the power associated with Him. He is part of the package. If you believe in your heart, you will probably end up with the same faith that raised Jesus from the dead.
Read the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs, over and over. Before you read each day, ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you are reading ,in Jesus name. An NLT study Bible is good, so is an ESV  version.
Like me, you will begin to appreciate the greatest gift a person could get. We should all look at the date of our salvation as our real birthday, because we are born into the kingdom of the most high God, and that is as joyful an occasion as there can be. Heaven for all eternity, sounds like a mighty fine thing to me.

A Letter To God

Greetings My Friends
This suggestion will bring warmth and peace to your life every time you do it. Think about it before you pronounce it silly.
Whenever you are starting to feel a little down, write a letter to God. Just for the sake of these letters, pretend you are writing to a very loving father.
In this letter, you can pour out your heart. Tell Him everything that is on your mind, just as you would a loving, earthly father. Be totally honest with yourself too. Don't complain about anything. Just tell Him that satan is attacking you, and name the area of attack. Tell Him you love Him and appreciate all that He has given you, especially Jesus. Ask for His help in Jesus name.
When you are through with this letter, go to a quiet place and read it out loud. Read it two or three times. Then fold it and put it aside for a while. Go to the concordance in the back of the Bible, and look up the verses that apply to each of your concerns. God's answers are in there. Just believe what I am saying right now. Look with a sincere heart, and meditate on each verse.
Write down your thoughts, and checked out with your letter. You will find the right thing to do with each of your problems. Yes it is a little work. However, the answers from the letter God wrote you(the Bible) are so much better than hearing opinions from your friends who probably know less than you do.
Take it from a former master skeptic, it works.

Self Inflicted Rules

Greetings My Friends
Many of us can live for years under the law even though we are under grace since Jesus death and resurrection.
Let me explain. The law we are living under is usually of our own making. Sometimes when we try to be a good Christian, or are attempting to please Jesus, we come up with rituals that we think will accomplish that.
Suppose you decide that you should read the Bible for three hours a day, pray for one hour, or whatever. If you fail to do one of your self-imposed rules, you feel guilty. At that point satan comes along and confirms that you are bad, and God doesn't love you anymore because you let Him down. You feel worse and worse.
By virtue of the fact that you feel so bad, you should put the facts together and know you need to change. First of all, it is an offense to God for you to think you can earn what He has already given you.
If you read the Bible to learn the Word of God, that is good, because it is for the right reason. Relax with it. If you read five chapters, or 50 chapters, it doesn't matter to God. It is for your own edification.
Some people think that if you help your neighbor, or give to the poor, or even love your neighbor, it is not works.  Not so. If you imitate Jesus and what He did, you are following His wishes. When you are saved, the Holy Spirit guides you in carrying out what is in your heart.
When you act like Jesus from your heart because you love Him and all He does for you it is a sign of Thanksgiving. So keep reading your Bible to find out what Jesus did. The more you know Jesus and the Holy Spirit, the more you will do what He did. Your good works will come to be like a reflex action. You will do that without even thinking.
Another point is simply this. If for instance you do not help someone, you won't get a feeling of condemnation, but a feeling of missed opportunity. So just relax, and be guided by the Holy Spirit. You can't buy something you already have as a free gift. If you operate like this, I will bet, that it will make Jesus smile. You will be living under grace, and not under law, even your own.

Untitled

Greetings My Friends
I gave this title, to this message, because it was the only one that popped into my head. This message concerns something that happened recently, and turned out to be another awakening.
My wife and I are pretty average believers, with an occasional period of  what I will call super faith. This little story, was written basically to show you how God protects you, even when you screw up.
Two years ago my youngest son moved a few hundred miles to an area we really like. He made it plain that he and his wife would like it very much if we move too. Well fortunately we felt the same way.
My wife and I decided that in order to be sure it was the right thing to do, we would trust the Lord about it. We decided to sell our house with the idea that if it sold for our price it was an answer to our prayer and that everything would work out just fine. The sale of our house would get us into a house the Lord had planned for us.
Well it started out okay. We decided we would step out in faith and see what was available so we would be ready. Well you can guess the rest. We started to figure that we would buy something right away and spend weekends there until our house sold. See where this is going? We thought we were stepping out in faith. But in reality it was a trick of satan that we fell for.
We found three places online that looked good to us. Each of them had been for sale for about a year. I called the real estate and told them what we wanted to see. After a couple of days the real estate called and said that in the last couple of days all three were sold. Since I sometimes have a hard head, I pursued the plan with three other houses. Repairs and legal problems were staggering. I gave up for now.
That whole month was no peace whatsoever. Should we go, should we stay, stress and nerves. You're right, we fell into satan's trap. Fortunately my wife and I realized what happened. The Lord was looking out for us as He always has. We repented and asked God for an answer. Well He answered pretty quick. We felt in our hearts that the first plan was correct.
We put the house up for sale and declared it sold in Jesus name. We will use that money for a new home. We are trusting in the Lord, and will follow His plan exactly the way we understand this time.
We could have saved ourselves a lot of grief if we had just stuck to trusting the Lord in the first place, and didn't second-guess Him. satan is so sneaky, we didn't realize we were messing things up. It seemed so innocent.
I wrote this as a warning to you. Be aware. Thanks be to God for protecting us from a terrible mistake.

Unanswered Prayer 2

Greetings My Friends;
At one time or another, everyone has had unanswered prayer. There are any number of reasons for this, but none of them are because God doesn't care.
The other day I heard a well-known preacher on TV say that God the father does not answer prayers because he gave all authority to Jesus. That was a little difficult to understand. He went on to explain that when Jesus ascended into heaven God the father turned everything over to Jesus. When we ask according to the Word we are reminding God that we are under the covenant in Jesus name. The prayers are answered because of Jesus name. We must go through Jesus.
Sometimes we use what Jesus called hollow words. These are words that are said as though they were a magic spell, or as something we memorized or gave no thought to. One of the problems in reading or reciting the same prayer all of the time, is that it is very easy to not even understand what you are praying , At that point it is just words.
Another reason could just be plain old lack of faith. Faith is a gift from God. We were all given enough faith for everything we are called to do. The big thing you must remember is that your faith, is to believe in Jesus ability to answer your request. Your faith does not make things happen but your faith in Jesus to make it happen is what gets it done. Always end your prayer in Jesus name.
Sometimes prayers are not answered because we are asking for something that would hurt us or someone else in some way. Asking for things that do not line up with the Word of God can also be a reason. Some people even pray for some misfortune to fall on someone else.
The last one we'll talk about is answers in disguise. Sometimes we feel bad that our prayer was not answered, and  may even doubt the power of prayer. This happened to me a couple of times. Months or even a couple of years later, you look back and see that your prayer was answered, but not necessarily the way you expected it. Sometimes you get answers that are much more beneficial than you expected, so you failed to connect the dots and see what really happened.
Prayer that is sincere is always answered,  maybe not always the way we expect, but much better. Jesus always said yes. So the best thing is, just have faith that He hears you, and will answer you.

Convince Your Mind

Greetings My Friends
Faith is something most of us at one time or another felt was impossible. It is pretty easy to say just believe, but the reality of it is somewhat more difficult.
We have heard quite a few preachers lately, talking about the power of words. I believe they are correct, they also believe they don't go far enough. They don't say very much about how it works.
Let us start with negative words. You generally say negative words as a  kind of reflex action. As you go through life, you are constantly facing stress, mishaps, injustice, aggravation, and so on. Your mind is so conditioned to negative circumstances that they get to be a part of life. Fear of disaster also comes into it.
Negative words produce negative results. People are so accustomed to things going wrong in their life, that there faith and bad outcomes is very powerful, so what they expect comes to pass.
Now let's take a look at faith filled words. First you have to start working on getting the junk out of your mind. This will take effort. Stop saying negative things. Saying nothing rather than the wrong thing. Don't even joke about things. Tell yourself over and over that you can overcome in Jesus name.
Next, start filling your brain with inspirational thoughts. Daily devotionals are a good start. Get into the Word every day. If you don't have a study Bible and are having trouble understanding some things, just study the words of Jesus. Anyone can understand Him.
Find and say something positive as often as possible. The more you work on conditioning your mind with good stuff, the faster you will grow. Start out commanding your desired result in Jesus name, and make your mind see and believe. Jesus never spoke the problem, just His desired result.
Someone may tell you that you are brainwashing yourself. Negative works the same way. Think about this. A lion cub when it is small gets frightened and is a target of larger animals. He watches and imitates his parents. Then one day he wakes up and realizes that he is the King in this jungle, and fears nothing.
It is written, "as a man says in his heart, so is he". You are what you say and believe.

Like Jesus

Greetings My Friends;
Many people don't realize that we are like Jesus when he was on earth. While he was here, he was just a man. He had to give up being God for that period of time in order to experience what it was like to be human.
Think about that for a minute. For instance. A man will never know or imagine what it is like to have a baby. It is very hard to have true compassion for people who are starving or losing a child through starvation, when you have never missed a meal in your life. Jesus had to be a man and not God.
If you read the Bible, you begin to realize that Jesus did not do any of His miracles on His own power. He relied on the Holy Spirit for that. He did what His father told Him to do, and the Holy Spirit did the rest.
Just before Jesus ascension, He gave the apostles what has been called the great commission. It is mentioned in Mark 16:15 – 18 Jesus told them to preach the gospel, cast out demons, heal the sick in His name.
In telling us to use His name in these circumstances, He made us like His earthly self. He even told the apostles they would do even greater works than He did. In effect, we became His proxy on earth, with something similar to a power of attorney, to act in His name. He also gave them the same Holy Spirit that He had, and that raised Him from the dead.
A couple things seem pretty clear if you look at it with an open mind. Jesus intended for His work to go on. The apostles were His tools. It stands to reason that believers carried on that work as Jesus commanded, and passed it on to the next group of believers. Jesus intention was not that His works were to extend only for the lifetime of the apostles, but to all men until the end of time.
I get excited every time I think that God made us just like Jesus. By the grace of God, we are blessed and able to carry on Jesus work.

Discontent

Greetings My Friends;
You probably remember when Jesus told the apostles to be aware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Matthew 16:12, referring to their doctrine, and how it affected people.
It is no stretch of the imagination to be aware of the leaven of satan. We are all aware that he tempts people to sin, and is the great deceiver. He wants us to live away from the Lord.
You might say that you do not commit adultery, steal, and so on, thinking you are safe. Might there be another tool of satan that is really powerful? You bet there is. That tool is called discontent. This will give you an idea of what it is. It is so sneaky you may not even realize it.
Let's use your job for an example. satan is aware of each person's hot button. He will cause little things to happen, in order to get you going the way he wants you to go. He wants you to start complaining, or really disliking someone, maybe followed by gossip.
Everything that happens as a result, he magnifies in fact or in your mind. He can affect how you do your job. As he gains ground a little at a time, he turns it into something like a feeding frenzy. Pretty soon you start to act that way at home. You not only run the risk of alienating your family, but you will probably start making bad decisions leading to more disaster. A real snowball rolling down a hill.
He will try to get you to blame God for all of your woes. Then the devil feels like he has you. He keeps the pressure on because he doesn't want you to remember that you have power over him in Jesus name, and you can stop him. I guess you get the point that just as a little leaven  in a lump of dough permeates the whole thing and changes it, the leaven of satan can do that in your life.
We all go through varying degrees of pressure from satan. We can however stop him cold. Talk to the Lord or the Holy Spirit in Jesus name, and ask for the answer, thank Him for the answer, and stand in the Word. Your story will turn out just the way you want it to.

Talking About Jesus

Greetings My Friends;
Many Christians feel a little embarrassed talking about Jesus. I guess the biggest reason for that is, a lot of other people don't want to hear about Him.
I have learned a few things over the years that may help. If you are a spirit filled Christian, don't start condemning yourself if you don't mention Jesus to everyone you meet. Remember, you are under grace, not works.
If you are a little hesitant about talking to someone, you may want to try what I did to start out. For instance. If you see a person in a store that looks unhappy, ask the Lord to bless them, and to help them in their needs. Everyone has some kind of need, so you can't go wrong.
If someone gets on your nerves or upsets you in any way, instead of getting upset, bless them. As you do this, you will find yourself saying quietly, bless this person Lord, and more and more you will do it without thinking. I'm not saying every single person, the Holy Spirit will tell you when.
You get to the point where you are led to mention Jesus, and you will get a positive response. I talk to cashiers all the time. A good part of the time as I am leaving, I tell the person to have a blessed day. Nine times out of ten, they smile and say thank you and bless you too. Another thing I find, is there have been times I was in a conversation with a stranger, and I was led to ask if they knew Jesus. Sometimes someone asked me. What an uplifting thing to have happen. I believe the Holy Spirit arranges things like that, so don't get uptight if it doesn't happen for a while.
Another great opportunity comes with people at church. When you are with another believer, most conversations turn to how great God is, and the latest thing He has done in our lives. I have never been as excited talking about anything, as when I talk about Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Nothing can compare.
A very good side benefit is that you are fulfilling the commandment to love your neighbor as yourself. You become a servant of the most high God.
