The Power of Believing

It Is Written, Galatians 3:22, but the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
There is a common problem with faith, that affects many people. Generally when people start to get to know God, they want to do something to show God how thankful they are. One of the top things that people decide to do, is to pray for others. There are many other goals, but the results are usually the same.
For example. Suppose that you decide to pray for others. You make up your mind on how you will go about it. You have all of the details figured out. The only problem is, you can't seem to get around to doing it.
At this point most people set a new time frame. When it still doesn't happen, they start to beat themselves up about it. Finally they tell themselves that it must not be God's will for them to pray for others.
Big mistake. What is really happening is, satan is trying to stop you. He knows the power of prayer, so he does all of his tricks to deceive you.
Remember this. As a believer, you have power over satan. Make up your mind to cast him out, and follow God's plan by faith. Intercessory prayer is one of the most powerful prayers,  but as with any prayer, you must believe and have faith that it is, what you say. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

Mind Battles

It Is Written, John 16:24, until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
Are you one of those Christians who never asks God for anything? Do you think something is too big for God, or He is too busy to help you? Does your mind seem incapable of deciding whether to ask God or not? Let's look at a few reasons for not asking.
You don't want to bother God with your wants or needs. You don't want to seem greedy. Maybe you feel that you don't know how to ask. Does this seem like you?
Now we come to the biggest reason people don't ask God for anything. The fact of the matter is, unbelief is the problem. We don't, or can't believe God would do whatever it is, for us.
Now let's look at the real answer. satan plays with our minds. Don't forget that he planted doubt in Eve's mind about God, and she and Adam lost paradise. An untold number of us think that Adam and Eve were stupid, and we would never have done that. Really?
Jesus died on the cross, and rose again for us. By His stripes we were healed. By His death and resurrection He conquered death and satan for us.
Jesus gave us authority over satan in His name. James 4:7 says therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. If we do not trust or have faith in Jesus words, as written in the Bible, we are worse than Adam and Eve. We know about satan and his tricks, they didn't. So let us not judge too harshly, unless we judge ourselves. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

The Lord's Time

It Is Written, John 13:7, Jesus answered and said to him, ( Simon Peter ), what I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.
It is common for many Christians to want to serve God in some way. New Christians usually get ideas about going into the ministry. There is nothing wrong with these types of feelings.
The problem comes up when we try to make things happen by our own efforts. When these efforts fail, and they usually do, we often get confused or depressed. The next thing we do, if we are smart, is to ask God to show us what He wants us to do. Again more often than we would like, we receive no answer at that exact time. How can all this be? Proverbs 3:5-6 says it best. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will guide your path.
When we became Christians we learned about faith and trust in the Lord Romans 12:2 says, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
So how can we interpret all of this in our lives? A believer knows that God wants the best for us. God's best is accomplished in His time. I believe His timing, is based in part on our actions. Whatever it is, if we leave it to God, he will take care of it.
God gave each of us a job to do. We may not be happy with what we are doing right now, but we must sincerely thank God, then dedicate our best efforts to Him. When we do, God opens doors for us. We do God's will by taking the steps He gives us, to get His best for us. He knows what it takes to make the plan succeed, and He arranges circumstances to accommodate His plan for us. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

satan At Work

It Is Written, 1 Peter 5:8, be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
satan is always at work. He doesn't care if you are a believer or not. As a matter of fact, he usually tries harder with believers, because he considers it a great victory, if he can create doubt or confusion in a Christian.
satan has the whole world, and everything in it, to distract whoever he can. He paints false pictures of just about everything to entice people. The majority of people believe his lies, in their pursuit of self-indulgence, and so-called happiness.
You don't have to look very far to see the snares he sets for man. He doesn't bother with most of the people because he already has them. Many people play the game of life only knowing satan's rules. They do not realize this is a game they cannot win.
When you live your life by God's rules ( the Bible ), you win the ultimate price, eternity with Jesus. Many times it isn't easy, fighting satan and his world. But fortunately the solution is simple.
We have received power over satan from Jesus death and resurrection. He gave us this power, by allowing us to heal, cast out demons, and work miracles, in His name. We must however know Jesus, and what He tells us to do. Focus on Jesus and His Word, and you absolutely cannot go wrong. satan is not the all powerful thing we think he is. The final chapter of The Book, the Bible, shows you the final outcome and destination of our biggest adversary.
God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Knowing God

It Is Written, Proverbs 8:17, I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me diligently will find Me.
Ask yourself this question. Do I know God, or do I just know of Him? The answer may not be as simple as you think. Be honest with your self.
Are you hearing from God in your heart? Are your prayers getting answered? How do you act with others in your heart, as well as in the open?
Here is another suggestion. Write down five of your most important wants, in the order of their importance to you. Is God on that list? If so, what number is He?
I started to know God, later in life. I know in my heart, that if I could live my life all over, just the way it was, but I had God in my heart, it would have been joyful, instead of mostly pretty good. It is never too late, and never too early.
The best way to know God, is to seek Him with all of your heart. Here is a suggestion. Think about something you want so much, that you will do whatever it takes to get it. No hardship is too great, no effort to great.
Well my friend, that is how we need to be about knowing God. Remember, God is forever, the new car or whatever else seems important, will end up in the junkyard, or with someone else. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

More on Prayer

It Is Written, Romans 8:26-27, likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groaning s which cannot be uttered. Now he who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the spirit is because He makes intercession for the Saints according to the will of God.
Are you someone who doesn't usually have prayers answered? Have you wondered how to change that? Do you believe prayers could be answered?
Yes it can happen to you. I have always believed that praying in the spirit, is the most powerful prayer there is. We too are spirits, and we can link up with the Holy Spirit to accomplish all things.
The next powerful prayer is the one of petition. In this prayer, we petition God directly for a very specific thing, such as the salvation of someone we love.
In this type of prayer you write out what it is you want to pray for. Ask the Holy Spirit to tell you what to write. He will tell you which verses to quote that remind God of His promises about salvation, and answering prayer. Don't feel you can't do it, because you can with the Holy Spirit to help.
If you don't know God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit, you probably won't hear them. That puts you in a tough spot. The answer is simple. Read and meditate on the Word of God. It will build your faith to the point, where you will hear their voices.
Bibles are written in plain English. The message, and NLT versions, are just two examples. Bibles come in inexpensive paperback, and they are even free online. The Bibles that are printed today, make it easy for anyone to understand if they take the time to read it. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

The Authority of Believers

It Is Written, Luke 10:19 behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
In the past, I heard of believers having authority. So I asked myself what that meant. The answer I came up with, was pretty obvious, check it out. There are a number of books, written by spirit filled people, so I started to read.
Many people do not realize or understand, that God gave Adam and Eve dominion over everything He created. When they sinned, satan took over.
As time went on, God made a covenant with Abraham and his descendants. These were promises from God, to man. God kept His side of the covenant.
When God sent His Son Jesus on the rescue mission to save man, He made a new and better covenant with man. Sometimes this covenant is referred to as the good news. By Jesus death and resurrection, we were healed of all diseases, sin, and we received salvation if we repented and believed that Jesus is Savior.
When Jesus rose from the dead, He told His apostles and disciples, that they were to go out into the world and do what He did and more. To accomplish these miracles, He gave them the same Holy Spirit that worked through Jesus.
Jesus gave man these responsibilities all the way to the time He comes back. Matthew 28:18-20 and Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, all authority has been given to me in Heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and now I am with you always even to the end of the age.
God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Curse the Root

It Is Written, Philippians 2: 10, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.
Just as some things are pleasant, some things are not. Instead of thinking about plants as having roots, look at everything as having roots. Let me explain.
As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, satan will plant some weeds in the garden of life. If you do not pull the roots out, satan will make the weeds take over. Visualize everything as having roots. All sin and trouble, comes from roots that satan feeds.
Here's an example. satan gives you symptoms of some kind of sickness. It could be a cold, or cancer, it works the same way. satan planted the roots for that sickness.
If you start thinking about how sick you are, the roots took hold. Now satan will make them grow. It is time all of us realize that we can take care of this problem by cursing the roots of the sickness, by casting out satan in Jesus name , and pronouncing that we are healed because of Jesus stripes.
The problem of satan planting roots does not apply just to sickness, it could apply to finances, marriages, or anything else. We must be aware at all times that if we accept something that makes us unhappy, we are probably on the verge of falling into satan's trap
By His death and resurrection, Jesus took care of everything already, all we have to do is accept what He did. By using Jesus name, we curse the roots of disease, and healing is received. As it says in Isaiah 53:5 but He was wounded for our transgressions He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, by His stripes we were healed.
Final thought. If you want the flowers in your garden of life to grow beautiful and strong, you must feed them with the Word of God. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

When Everything Is Right

It Is Written, James 1:12 blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
I imagine there isn't a single person on earth, who wouldn't like everything to be perfect, every single time. Sound good? Let's look at it, and see just how good that would be.
Take anything you do, and think about it. If you are a fisherman, and every time you made a cast, you caught a 10 pound bass, no matter where you were, or what lure you used.  How long would it take for you to be bored and stop doing it, because it wasn't fun anymore.
If everything you did, was always perfect, you probably wouldn't want to do anything. Let's look at this fisherman under real conditions.
Now try the way life really is. When you go fishing you catch a few small cropies, or maybe nothing at all. Now a 10 pound bass, is a dream to be fulfilled. You read, watch DVDs, and you tube to see how it is done. You practice and try everything . Now fishing is exciting.
If life was perfect, you would never learn. You might even think you don't need God. If your life isn't perfect, thank God for letting you grow. Whether we agree with it or not, trials and tribulations of all sorts, help us to grow in faith, and to learn. So the next time you are disappointed in something, take comfort in the fact that the good day is coming. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

The Bill Comes Due

It Is Written, Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
As we go through life, we have to make choices. All choices have consequences. Some are good, and some are not.
As life moves on, we will find that if we have accepted Jesus as our Savior, and repented of our sins, we are in a position to make very good decisions, by asking the Holy Spirit to guide us.
If we go through life without God, we make our own decisions, and must live with what happens. This is kind of like a blind man threading a needle with thread that is too big.
satan makes sin look pleasurable. If you follow satan and the desires of your flesh, it always causes bigger problems than we want to deal with. Adultery, drugs, alcohol, gambling, pornography, can take over your life. You will find out eventually, all of our sins have a price.
Addictions destroy lives, as we pay the bill for our sins, either during our lives, or after. Salvation through Jesus name, and repentance, wipes away the sins. There is something to remember though. You must stop sinning. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Who is a real Christian ?

It Is Written, Acts 2:38, then Peter said to them, repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins;  and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Many people wonder if they are saved or not.  Most people call themselves Christians, but are they?
When we accept Jesus as our Savior, and repent of our sins, we receive salvation as a gift from God, along with the Holy Spirit.  From the Holy Spirit, we receive what is called the fruits of the spirit.
As it is written in Galatians 5:22-25, but the fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  Against such there is no law and those who are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the spirit, let  us also walk in the spirit.
These fruits of the spirit change how we act, usually without us even noticing. We follow the spirit in our daily walk, not because we make a super effort, but because we want to. When we are living with the fruits of the spirit, we know we are saved.
On the other hand, if we claim to be a Christian, and we continue in our old sinful ways, it is time to rethink where we stand. Galatians 5:16, makes it pretty clear. I say then: walk in the spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
It is written, Galatians 5:19-21, now the works of the flesh are evident which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, bad intentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, deceptions, heresies,  murders, drunkenness, rivalries, and the like; of which I tell you before hand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
So you see, it is pretty easy to figure out where you stand. Be honest with yourself, seek the Lord and repent. It is never too late. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!
