Church, What Is It?

It Is Written, Ephesians 2:19,  now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.
Ask most people what church is, and they will describe a building. The truth is the building is the gathering place of believers in God.  The church or as it is usually called the body of Christ, refers to the people.
Many people are not fond of going to church.  Perhaps they are missing the whole point of this gathering of believers, or they don't have experience in a real church patterned after what Jesus taught.  The gathering is to edify one another, and build up our faith, by hearing the Word of God.
One of the biggest problems churches have today, is that they continually try to adjust to the world, and come up with what they think are attractions to bring young people in.  They make going to church about the way it is going to a concert.  Let's take a look at two examples.
Some churches unfortunately are social in nature. A social church has many activities that appeal to a lot of people.  Perhaps it's a large area to congregate, have coffee, or other activities that have little to do with God. What is passed off as worship, looks and sounds more like a Las Vegas show.  It's pretty sad when someone says they came for the entertainment. Believe it or not I have heard that remark more than once.  This type of church usually lacks the presence of the Holy Spirit.
The best type of church for a believer, is a Holy Spirit filled church.  The pastor is spirit filled, and most of the people are filled with the Holy Spirit, and it shows.  The preaching is from the Word of God, no man-made rules and regulations.  The worship part, really is worship.   When you are in a situation like this, the services seem to touch your soul.  You feel close to God, and it certainly is a faith booster.
If your church experience doesn't touch your soul and make you want to go back, maybe you need a different church.  Have a blessed day.
Praise the Lord!

Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You Lord
 Amen
