God Brings You To It

Believing Vs Wishing

It Is Written, Romans 10: 17, so then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
There is a big difference between believing and wishing. When we pray, we should be aware of the difference. One produces miracles, and the other produces disappointment.
Believe is defined as feeling sure of the outcome. The Bible tells us we are to see the result in our spirit, even before it appears in the flesh.  Jesus never spoke the problem, He spoke the result as having happened already.  When you read the Word and trust in God, your spirit sees the result. Prayers are answered.
Wishing is defined as wanting something not easily obtainable, or probably not likely to happen. You can wish for a luxury car, but wishing won't get it done.  Wishing has emotion rather than faith powering it.
When you pray, it would be a good idea to think about whether you have faith and trust in God for the answer, or you are just wishing. The choice as always is yours. Have a blessed day. Praise The Lord!

Jesus Love

Faith-What Is It ?

It Is Written,Romans 4:21 ( Abraham ) being fully convinced that what He promised, He was also able to perform.
Everyone has faith, believe it or not. There is faith in Jesus Christ, and there is faith in satan.  Let me explain this statement.   Jesus gives you promises that will lead to eternal life.  satan promises a far different eternity, so he doesn't spell anything out.
When a person is born, they have the built in capability to do or become whatever they choose. As with most things, there is what most people call, a catch.  Most things require work and a belief that that work will produce the desired result.  That my friend is faith in oneself.
People expend time, energy, money, and whatever else they can think of to reach their goal.  Problems may come up, and even substantial setbacks, but they have faith that if they stick it out, it will turn out as they planned. So you see, faith is not a problem all of the time. We are selective about what we have faith in.
Faith as we usually refer to it, is spiritual faith and we must trust in God, rather than ourselves. There seems to be a double standard when it comes to faith. Just as we all realize you cannot become a doctor by walking into a hospital, you cannot just walk into a church and become saved.  Both require certain things, such as learning, effort, and getting through setbacks.
A textbook gives instructions to achieve a goal. The Bible does the same thing, except the Bible is error free.  A professor gives lectures, a preacher teaches.   A med student does experiments based on what he reads or hears in school.  A believer follows instructions on the way to live according to Jesus.
The big thing that believers must realize is, that prayers are not magic, so they shouldn't give up if they don't get instant results.  If everyone treated everything the way faith in God is treated, we would all be in the stone age, and no one would go to heaven.
If we put some effort into seeking God, and doing what the Bible says, we will find that faith becomes easier as we grow spiritually. To be happy and at peace, follow the spiritual, and not the worldly.   Faith is total trust in God, and not yourself.  Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Strength Through God

It Is Written, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul talking. And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness" therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Every human being has weaknesses.  It can be as simple as an ice cream addiction, or as tough as drugs or alcohol.   Weakness of any kind brings a feeling of failure or condemnation.
When you sincerely turn your life over to Jesus, you receive the grace to overcome anything.   You just have to want to,  put it in God's hands, and believe.  Remember, all things are possible to him who believes.
See yourself as the perfect being that God created you to be.  You were made in God's image you know.  Have A Blessed Day.  Praise The Lord!

Let Your Light Shine

As we look at Matthew 5:14-16, it is obvious that we are being told that this is the way a believer is supposed to act. This is a natural way for someone who loves God to treat his fellow man. In case you ever wondered how to love your neighbor, this is a good way to look at it.
When you are saved you automatically receive the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit. These fruits are a guideline to the way a believer should live. It is basically spelled out , so we don't have to figure out how to follow this command.
The fruits are love, peace, joy, patience (longsuffering) kindness, self control, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness. When you go through your day, and make it a point of doing some of these, in a quiet way so as not to attract attention, you are doing it God's way.
As you treat people this way, you are reflecting Jesus light to everyone, and showing His love to everyone. By the way, if you ever wondered about how to love your neighbor, this is a really good way. This becomes a lifestyle, and as time goes by, requires little or no effort.
The important thing for us is that we show Jesus how much we love Him. Jesus is the only one who's approval matters, so don't worry about man's approval. Have a Blessed Day. Praise The Lord!

Oppression Of Darkness

It Is Written, Isaiah 59:10, We grope for the wall like the blind,  and we grope as if we had no eyes; We stumble at noonday as at twilight;  We are as dead men in desolate places.
Have you ever been in real darkness?  I am talking about dark without even a hint of any kind of light.  The kind of darkness that you cannot even see your nose.
If you are away from the city, on a moonless, starless night, you will experience something that will shock you.  At first you will feel uncomfortable.  It gets worse.
In this total darkness you become aware of some disturbing things.  Time seems to stop.   You can't move, because you can't see what is in front of you.   You actually start to feel the dark pressing in on you.   You listen for sounds, in the absolute quiet of the place.   The quiet becomes unbearable.  As silly as it sounds, you worry about some kind of bigfoot type character attacking you.
As uncontrolable fear starts to take over, you get a glimpse of a tiny light in the distance.  Your mind tells you that there is safety in that light, and you must reach it at any cost.
Take this description and multiply it by an infinate number, and you get a tiny idea of what spiritual darkness is.  satan lays traps, and is worse than the bigfoot you worried about,  because bigfoot can kill you,  but satan can terrorize you for eternity.   Think what that would be like.
When someone is in total spiritual darkness, they search for a light that will never be there.  If you are in spiritual darkness now, you still have a chance.  Look for the light as hard as you can.   Jesus is that light.  As you get closer and closer, that light gets brighter and brighter.  Finally you are in the light and see with new eyes.  Have a blessed day.   Praise the Lord!

God Understands Prayer

It Is Written, Psalm 62:8, Trust in Him at all times, you people;  Pour out your heart before Him;  God is a refuge for us.
Many people feel that they don't know how to pray, because they never learned.  Others keep looking for some kind of system to pray and get answers.
Relax.   All of this concern is for nothing.  The routine to follow is simple.Go to a quiet place, forgive anyone that hurt you, from your heart.  Then just talk to God as you would your best friend. The only rule is sincerity.
When someone talks to God, God sees their heart. The words can be in any language, the conversation could be choppy or clumsy.  There are no strict rules.  Maybe you never learned to pray in a way most people call prayer. That is usually a good thing, because God wants you to tell Him what is on your mind, not someone elses.
Since God looks at the heart, everyone can pray, because all they have to do is talk.   God knows, because He is God.   Have a regular chat with Him, and you will be blessed.  Have a blessed day.   Praise The Lord!

Good Morning

It Is Written,Isaiah 26:3,you will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
People get up in the morning and normally dread the day ahead.  The drive to work, the job,and any number of things.  Some even worry about things that may happen, no matter how improbable.
If someone told you that you could do a 20 minute exercise in the morning and eliminate all of your problems for the day, would you be interested? Well that exercise does exist.
First thing you get up,go to a quiet place in your house.  Read 1 or 2 chapters from the Bible.  Tell the Lord what is on your mind, and ask Him to take care of it.  Face the day with confidence in the Lord.
Don't use that old " I don't have any time excuse", unless you really enjoy having a crummy day.   I am not saying that by starting the day the right way will eliminate all problems.  I am saying that many of them will not happen, and God will get you through the rest.
Do yourself a favor.  Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.   Do it in faith for 2 weeks, and you will see what I mean.   You will always do it by choice after that.   Have a blessed day.   Praise the Lord!

The Meaning of the Lord's Prayer

It Is Written, Matthew 6:9-14, the Our Father prayer taught to the apostles by Jesus.
The Our Father is a beautiful, powerful prayer. Like most prayers, if you don't analyze it, you run the risk of vain repetition. I, like many others, spent years praying it without a clue of what I was praying. Here is a simple breakdown of the Our Father and it's meaning.
Our Father-we speak to God our father, because Jesus said He is. We recognize His love for us and His adoption of us through Jesus.
Who Art in Heaven-heaven is the home of God, and was promised to us as his children. God lives in our hearts in the meantime.
Hallowed Be Thy Name-we acknowledge that the name of God be regarded by everyone as more precious than anything, and should not be used in vain. There is power in God's name.
Thy Kingdom Come-refers to His final coming when He takes over for good. It also refers to our realization of heaven's principles in our lives.
Thy Will Be Done As It Is in Heaven-we are asking for God's will to be done here as well as heaven. We know what His will is through the Word, and the Holy Spirit. That includes doing, as well as praying.
Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread-this means that our needs be met every day by trust in God's Word. It also includes holy communion, Jesus the bread of life.
And Forgive Us Our Trespasses, As We Forgive Those Who Trespass Against Us.- forgiveness is reconciliation. We need forgiveness from the Father, but first we must forgive everyone from our hearts, no matter what they said or did to us. The word is very plain about that.
And Lead Us Not into Temptation-we are asking for discernment to recognize sin according to God's standards, and spiritual help to fight the flesh.
But Deliver Us from Evil-Jesus asked our Father to protect us from evil and the leader of evil. When Jesus rose from the dead, He promised the Holy Spirit to us in his absence. When Jesus returned to heaven, we received the baptism and all power of the Holy Spirit.
For Thine Is the Kingdom, The Power, And the Glory, Forever and Ever, Amen. This is recognition of God's kingdom, and His authority to rule over everything forever. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Can Demons Come Back?

It Is Written, Matthew 12:43-45, when an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest and finds none, then he says "I will return to my house(the heart) from which I came". And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
When I first started reading the Bible, and I was reading it like a book I'm sorry to say, verses like this puzzled me. When I started studying the Bible, and I read this verse, I had to have an answer. So I started asking.
How can this be? If a demon is cast out how can he come back? Is it hopeless? The answer is no. Some people are possessed by a demon. These people have never accepted Jesus as Savior, or rejected Him completely. Their hearts were ready to accept satan to begin with.
So let us say that through the grace of God, and much prayer by believers, the demon is forced to leave this person. Now the person who was freed wonders if the demon can come back? They may even worry about it.
The answers are simple. If by God's grace and much prayer, the heart has been emptied of evil, it makes sense that if the heart is refilled with Jesus, there is no room for the demons. Demons cannot occupy the same space as Jesus. If they could, then Jesus death and resurrection was for nothing.
Worry puts a for rent sign on your heart, an invitation to demons. Jesus puts a sold sign on your heart by your acceptance of Him as Savior. As you can figure out from this message, if you believe Jesus died and rose again for you, and forgave your sins, and accept Him as your personal Savior to begin with, you will be saved. With Jesus in your heart, you not only will be protected from demon possession, but you will be helped by the Holy Spirit, if satan tries to attack you. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Everyone is Forgiven

It Is Written, Luke 23:24, then Jesus said, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do".
I know people who cannot accept the truth about Jesus forgiveness. They are convinced, that they are beyond being forgiven. That my friends is totally wrong.
What bigger crime could there be than betraying the Son of God? Judas did it. Peter did it. Judas could not ask for forgiveness in his heart, so he killed himself. Peter accepted forgiveness, and eventually died serving God.
I have read several versions of the Bible. K JV, NIV, NLT. Try as hard as I could, I could not find where Jesus made a list of sins that He would die for. So I had to reach the conclusion, that no list existed.
Since there was no list, Jesus must forgive everything. Jesus died so that all who believed in Him, and repented, would be saved. That means all! It also means, that no matter how many sins, how bad they are, how long it has been going on, all are forgiven.
When you refuse forgiveness, you are in fact saying, what Jesus did was not good enough. By the way, you are even forgiven for that.
Say the prayer of salvation, or as some call it, the sinners prayer, with all your heart, and take your place as a child of God. Maybe for the first time in your life, you will know where you are going. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Power In Verses

It Is Written, James 4:3, you ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
This may seem like a puzzling verse, but it isn't. It simply means that we pray for the wrong things sometimes. God will not give us anything that can possibly lead us to destruction.
God does promise that anything we ask according to His Word, He will provide us. So now the question is, how do you know what is good and what is in error or wrong?
The concordance in your Bible lists subjects alphabetically, with references to verses where it is used. A more extensive list can be found online, when you search Topical Bible Verses.
Prayer is not to be taken lightly. It is a conversation between you and God. Prepare for prayer. Look for the promises of God in His Word for what you need. Put your prayer in the form of a letter or petition. List at least four or more verses about your request. Write from your heart, following God's instructions for prayer.
If you want answers to your prayers, take the time and effort to do it Gods way. He never goes back on His Word, so if you follow His Word, you will receive. Then just stand on that word, and believe.
I speak from experience that came the hard way. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Cycle of Faith

It Is Written, Colossians 3:23-24, and what ever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not too men, knowing that from the Lord, you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ.
The cycle of faith I refer to, is not today I believe, and tomorrow I have doubts. Faith is often misunderstood. It is a combination of many things,  so let us examine some of them.
First of all, faith is a gift from God, given to all believers when they accept Jesus as Savior. God does not take it back, so the on-again, off-again, of faith must have a different reason. Now we will look at possible answers.
Faith is a state of mind as well as heart. Your heart prompts you with faith, but your mind tries to convince it otherwise. The mind reasons as the world does, while our hearts work in the world of the Holy Spirit.
We must make a conscious decision to ignore the mind and what it tries to tell us, and follow our hearts. If we ask the Holy Spirit every morning to give us wisdom and guidance, He will. Those little "feelings" you get, is the way the Holy Spirit talks to you. How many times did you wish you had listened to that little voice?
Have you ever noticed how good you feel when you are kind to someone by helping them do something? Even something small like a smile and a friendly hello. That warm feeling in your heart is Jesus approval of what you did.
Jesus said we are to take up our cross daily and follow Him. He means that we are to accept whatever happens, as our gift to Him. Joy in our hearts, and no complaining, forgiveness, patience, love, and all the rest. Sometimes it isn't easy, remember that it wasn't easy for Jesus either.
It is common for new believers to want to serve God. We all go through that, and that is good. However the problem is we want to serve God the way we want to serve Him. We want to skip all of the training and go right to what we want to do.
Faith grows with steps. Each successful step, increases our faith, because we feel closer to God. God's training program goes against human thought. He expects us to master each step, before He gives us the next bigger step. How we progress is up to us.
When you carry your cross every day, you will be ready for God to use you. His timing is perfect, so be patient. He is never early, and never late. Even the famous preachers are attacked by satan. If satan isn't attacking you, he probably isn't worried about you. Do God's will, and really aggravates satan. True faith is a work in progress. Seek God with all your heart and you will find Him. Choose to believe. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Freedom

It Is Written, John 8:32, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.
This is another one of those verses we have heard dozens of times. Many of us thought it was uplifting, but probably didn't know exactly what it meant.
The average person's life contains times of confusion, misinformation, fear, condemnation, and many other ugly things. And of course we can't forget satan and his helpers.
When you hear verse 32, it is usually by itself. Very seldom is verse 31 mentioned, and that is too bad because it really sets up verse 32 and helps explain it. In verse 31, Jesus said to the Jews who believed, "if you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed".
When you put the two verses together, you get the answer. The Word is truth. Follow what the Word says, and you will be free from the cares of the world. You will still encounter problems, but you can overcome them because of the blood of Jesus. He says He will never leave you or forsake you. Trust in the truth of His Word, stand on His Word, and you will always have a victory. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!
Always remember, Jesus Loves You
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.

Thanks

It Is Written, Philippians 4:6-7, be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
God wants to give his children all good things. There are many places in His word that tell us to ask and we shall receive. His word even tells us how. We don't need to feel bad about asking.
If you think about what you give your children, you remember their smiles and happiness, and it makes you feel good. You want to give to them. You are required nothing from them in return, but you do expect them to appreciate it.
If your child says thank you dad or mom, I love you, it probably makes your whole week. Even though God is God, don't you think a thank you father, I love you would be appropriate? Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Victory Through Surrender

It Is Written,1 John 5:4-5, for whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Mention the word surrender to many people in this world, and they automatically think of a coward. Someone that is afraid and worthy of disgust. I'm not going to discuss whether it is right or wrong. I just give a view many don't think of.
There are many things in life that even the bravest must surrender to. Before making rash decisions about that statement, consider the following.
When you get married, have children, by a house, you are surrendering a part of your will for the good of the family. The same type of surrender applies to many other things. If you are in the military, on a team, have a job, you are surrendering your will for the good of the whole. Each person cannot be in charge. No good would result.
We all work for the spiritual boss of all things. He drew up the plans for all of us. We have a choice whether we follow his plan by surrendering to it, or to follow our own plans. His plan is victory. We have  benefits in the meantime,  blessings and favor, and all our needs met. At this point, surrender to God's plan is not cowardly, but victory over satan and all of his evil.

God Meets You

It Is Written, Isaiah 41:10, fear not for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
A problem that many Christians have, is worrying about whether they are holy enough, or doing enough. That is something that the devil is trying to sell us. He knows if he can create even a little doubt in us, it blocks prayers from being answered, and opens the door for greater opportunities for him.
Jesus promised He will never leave us or forsake us, so it is. Sometimes we don't realize what that really means, and it causes faith problems. What does Jesus promise really mean? Let's take a very brief look.
When we are saved, we receive the Holy Spirit as our helper. The Holy Spirit speaks to us all of the time, we just have to learn how to listen. He is teaching us and guiding us every single day. It is a growth process. It is never a question of if we are holy enough or doing enough. God doesn't condemn us, so we shouldn't condemn ourselves.
God knows each of us, and that we are all at different levels in our faith. He is always with us, no matter how much faith we have or don't have. Because he loves us, he looks at our hearts, and meets us where we are. We are righteous through Jesus, and by the grace of God we are saved. Because of that He will never let us go. The closer we get to God, the closer He gets to us. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Get Out Of The Boat

It Is Written, Isaiah 26:3, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
The story of Peter walking on water, is a good example for us. If we understand what happened with Peter, it is a big step to victory through Jesus in our lives.
All of us face storms in life, just as the apostles did. Peter saw Jesus walking on the water, in a fierce storm. He called out to Jesus, just as most of us do. Jesus said to Peter, come to Me, just as He says it to us.
Peter got out of the boat and walked toward Jesus. Again, similar to what we do. The problem for Peter and us as well, is that he took his eyes off of Jesus and looked at the storm. When that happened, he started to sink and Jesus had to reach out to save him.
There are two main lessons in this story. When we face storms in life, we must keep our focus on Jesus, and not on the storm. The next one is that no matter how fierce the storm, Jesus arm is not too short to save us, when we call out to Him.
When you add it all up, you realize that whatever you face, if you stay focused on Jesus, you will get through it. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Hope

It Is Written, Psalm 33:18, behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him. On those who hope in His mercy.
Hope is not maybe, possibly, or any of the ordinary thoughts we have about that word. Hope is much more than that. In the Hebrew and Greek it is a faith word.
The meaning of hope in the Bible, is to be confident or sure, assurance, and expectation. As you see from the Psalm, that those who love the Lord have confidence in, and expect God's mercy.
Whenever you pray, you hope for the result. Your hope in Jesus, is also your faith and trust in Him. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!
