Parents and Grandparents

Greetings My Friends;
This message is once again about something I learned over the years. It is taken from experience with my own children as well as some I have dealt with.
It doesn't take a genius to recognize the fact that Jesus loves children. The Bible says so. It is too bad many people do not realize what having children means. It is not uncommon for parents to just push their children aside because they feel they have more important things to do.
When the Lord blesses a couple with a child, He is putting that couple in charge of His most precious possession. The Lord expects that couple to help that child grow up to be what the Lord created it to be, and for that child to return to Him as an adult at the proper time.
Children are eager to learn, and yearn to be recognized. They need plenty of love. They cannot be ignored, or considered a burden. Every child needs a family, and will go where he feels that he has one. Yours or some gang?
We only go around once on this Earth, and we all make mistakes. Raising children is much more far-reaching than we imagine. The child we raise will become an adult someday and be what we taught him to be. You aren't just looking at your child, you are helping to form generations to come. Since we all pass on knowledge to the next generation, we are forming part of how the world will be in the future. Better or worse.
Start when they are born. Spend time with them as they grow. Make them a big part of your life. Do homework with them, read a Bible story from a children's book of Bible stories. Sit with them, show them the pictures, and ask them what they think is going on. Show them a loving family by example. Every day take time to listen to what they say. Don't ignore them or what they say or think. What would Jesus say about how you are taking care of what he gave you to do? Take the child to church.
Children don't love and respect you because you give them tons of stuff, and not yourself. Don't kid yourself. If you're a workaholic, don't say you are doing it for your family, you are doing it for you. Your family needs you more than your work does.
Imagine being a boy about 10 years old. The kids at school laugh at you because you can't throw a ball, sound like fun? I was involved with Little League for a couple of years. Every year a new batch of kids came to play. It didn't take long to figure out who had a father that took time with them, or had a stable home.
Grandparents sometimes get a second chance to do it right, by being interested in their grandchildren. There is no reason, that grandparents can't do things or teach things to their grandchildren. The child's parents would probably welcome it.
If a farmer planted let's say, corn, in poor ground, took seeds from that crop and planted in worse ground, and kept doing that year after year, how long would it take to starve? It's the same thing with people.
Start this generation the right way to pass on to improving generations. The world today is populated by people that are the result of hundreds of generations. What kind of the world would you like? Every one of us has to do our part to make it better.
I could go on and on, but I think that planted the seed for thought.
God Bless You and remember
Jesus loves you
Prayer of Salvation;
"Oh God in Heaven, I believe with all of my heart that Jesus has been raised from the dead. I receive your word, and I repent of sin. I renounce the past. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. I receive my forgiveness. I receive the new birth, cleansed and washed in the word and in the precious blood of Jesus. Fill me with your spirit, in Jesus name. Amen"
