God's Promises Sunday

MEN MUST CHANGE

Romans 13:1-2, let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.

When we look at the condition of the world, and our country in particular, most of us see corruption and evil taking over. We see it in the highest places and seek new leadership. These verses anger many people causing them to sin, but they are the truth.

Let’s look at the facts. The Lord God Almighty created everything that is. When He created man, it was in the image of God. Almighty God gave man a free will. When the Lord God did that, He decided that He would never go against that free will or force anything.

Romans 12:2, and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

As man populated the world, God saw that man needed someone to guide and control him on Earth or it would be a version of hell in a short time. Man needed protection from himself and other men.

When God appointed rulers over people the world over, He wanted them to govern according to Godly principles. Some did but many didn’t. Some rulers usurped God’s choice by working for satan.

Acts 5: 28-29, the high priest said to them, did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and intend to bring this man’s blood on us! But Peter and the other Apostles answered and said, we ought to obey God rather than men.

So, it seems we have a dilemma. God has a plan, and we cannot change it. Is there anything we can do? I’m glad you asked. This is where prayer comes in. Didn’t the Lord Jesus Christ say that anything you ask in His name, He will do, in order to glorify His Father?

1 Timothy 2:1-2, and therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all Godliness and reverence.

This verse spells it out. Prayer is conversation with God. We are to pray for a change of heart for ourselves and everyone else. We don’t just count on someone else to pray, we must pray with sincere hearts. We must also do our civic duty and vote for leaders that will uphold Godly principles.

It is also our duty to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit by identifying right and wrong in us and those we elect. Only the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit can change men’s Hearts. The Holy Spirit, if followed, can help us be a part of the solution, and not the problem. Just ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you may be surprised if you don’t already know him. God bless you and your family Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you died on the cross and rose again to save me and to forgive all my sins. I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. I Repent of my sins, and I thank you and Praise you for what you did on the cross to make my salvation possible. Amen.

Praise The Lord!
