My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Joseph 1

Fast forward two years. Pharaoh was having nightmares, and no one could interpret them. It is then that the cupbearer who was one of the slaves that Joseph took care of in prison, remembered Joseph, and he told Pharaoh about Joseph. Joseph was then called before the pharaoh to interpret the dreams.

After Pharaoh listened to the interpretation of the dreams, he decided that there was only one person that could fulfill what he was just told. That person was Joseph.

At that point Joseph was declared the ruler of the entire country of Egypt. The only one that would be higher than him in all the land was Pharaoh himself.  Joseph took control of everything, and everything prospered under his watch, just as the dream foretold. They saved 20% of the grain every year just as the dream foretold for seven years.

After the seven years of plenty in Egypt, a great famine came to the whole land and all the surrounding countries. Since Egypt was storing plenty of grain everyone came there to buy food from Joseph.

After a while Joseph’s brothers came to buy food. He recognized them but they didn’t recognize him. He told them that if they wanted to buy more grain, they had to bring their young brother back with them to prove they were not spies. Well, they did come back a second time and he made himself known to them. Obviously, they were repentant because he treated them so well For what they had done to him.

Joseph told his brothers that when they get back to their homeland to tell their father that he is alive and that he should bring his entire household to live in Egypt and that he would give them the best land.

See the chain of events. If his brothers did not sell Joseph to slave traders, there would be no story. If Joseph hadn’t been bought by Potiphar, no story. If Joseph didn’t go to prison, no story. If Joseph didn’t interpret the dreams of pharaoh, no story.

Joseph’s family moved to Egypt, they and their descendants lived there 400 years and we know about the slavery that they went through. If all of that didn’t happen there would be no Exodus and no Moses. The promised land was not conquered according to God’s plan. That fact changed most of history even till today. As you can see, all through history every step was orchestrated by God for the final result.

Nothing happens by chance. God is never surprised because He plans everything, and everything happens His way. Think about how world history would be different if things like Joseph never happened. The Bible is full of true stories that make up history. God bless you and your family.

Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus Christ, I know you suffered and died on the cross and rose again to wash away my sins and make it possible for me to have eternal life. I Repent of my sins, and I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. I want to do your will. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Praise The Lord!
