God's Promises Sunday

Joseph

Have you ever wondered if the Lord God Almighty really has a plan for your life? There are many examples in the Bible to convince us that the answer is yes. However, most people read the Bible but don’t meditate on it, so they miss so much that would help them period.

Case in point. I used to get bored when I heard so many preachers talking about Joseph. It seemed that someone was talking about him every week. One day for some reason, I know it was directed by the Lord, I was meditating on the story of Joseph and the Holy Spirit showed me what none of them ever talked about. I will now tell you what I discovered.

Joseph was the first child of his father Jacobs favorite wife. As a result, Joseph had preferential treatment. As a result, Joseph acted like he was much more special than his brothers. Between his actions and his mouth, his brothers seemed to have cause to resent him to such a level, they wanted to get rid of him.

They knew they couldn’t kill him, so they sold him to slave traders who took him to Egypt. That may sound terrible, but could it be a part of God’s plan?

When he was sold at the slave auction, he was bought by a high official in government. It didn’t take long for his new master, Potiphar, to realize he had a hard-working intelligent slave.

Potiphar made Joseph the head of his home and personal interests. As a result, Joseph met Potiphar’s wife. She Tried her best to seduce Joseph, but he refused, many times. Her anger caused her to accuse Joseph of violating her, and he was sent to prison.

While in prison, the warden figured out that he could pass most of his work to Joseph, and then relax with no stress. In his duties Joseph was called on to see to the needs of two of Pharaoh’s slaves. He interpreted the dreams of each of these people with 100% accuracy.

The rest of this story will be continued in the next posting. God bless you and your Family.

Praise The Lord!
