Looking For A Sign

It Is Written, Matthew 12:39, but He answered and said to them, (scribes and Pharisees ), an evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no signs will be given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Jesus wants us to believe in Him and in His Word.  In John 20:29, Jesus said to Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed, blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
I guess that at one time or another we have all asked God for a sign.  It seems to be pretty common, and is certainly not a sin.  It is however a disappointment to God.  God wants all of His children to trust in Him and His Word.  The only way to have faith grow, is to pray and have patience, and believe while we wait.
As we go through the growth process, we will see signs in the form of things God has already done. Sometimes we don't recognize what is staring us in the face, so we don't see the past blessings and miracles.
I think that when we hit rock bottom in our lives and don't know which way to turn, we are allowed one, "God if you are there", or "God if you exist".  He shows His grace and mercy to all who call on Him.
Some of the greatest characters in the Bible, went through much worse than what we deal with.  If you talk to the Holy Spirit, He will show you plenty of signs from your past.
When we make a commitment to follow Jesus, we are committing ourselves to doing things His way. Just like any job requires learning and preparation, He is preparing us to be able to handle what He has planned for us.  We don't know what that job is, but He does.  So just trust Him, and it will pay off.
The bottom line is this.  Forget signs, and trust.  We train until faith and trust become like a reflex action.  Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!
Remember Jesus loves You
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me.  Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation.  Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You Lord
Amen
