Step Up

It Is Written, Proverbs 29:1-2, for people who hate discipline and only get more stubborn, there will come a day when life tumbles in and they break, but by then it will be too late to help them. 2) when good people run things, everyone is glad, but when the ruler is bad, everyone groans. ( The MSG Bible )
Well here I am, on my soap box again.  This time I would like to talk about elected officials and our responsibility as citizens.
Our president is in the news quite often.  It seems he is signing executive orders every time you turn around.  Whether you agree with him or not, he is at least trying to do something.
Our Congress on the other hand seems like a bunch of freeloaders.  Most of them just go around playing bigshot and planning the next election. Politics is a game played by irresponsible children who have no accountability it seems.
Our Supreme Court does not interpret the Constitution, it is constantly rewriting it.  They are never accountable for anything, and enjoy a job for life.
So how did all of this happen?  The answer is apathy among the people.  We have politicians that have been in office for years and years.  If they lie, cheat, steal, break the law, we reelect them anyway.
It has become public recently that people in the administration think the American public is a bunch of stupid morons that don't understand anything, so they feel they can do whatever they want to because we don't know any better.
That is probably the only truth that has come out of Washington.  We elected them, so we must take a large part of the blame.  We keep reelecting do-nothing incompetents, so we pay the price.
Pretty soon we will have a new election.  It is the duty of every citizen to vote.  We cannot be lazy or careless.  If someone promises to do something, and doesn't, don't vote for him the next time he runs.  Congress was not meant to be a cushy, lifetime job.
If a babysitter abuses your child, would you keep hiring them?  Congress is supposed to be looking out for us and the country, not just themselves. We are not here to put up with their abuse and lack of good judgment.
It is time to show them we are not all morons.  Vote with thought.  Put yourself out a little and do it right.  Know who you are voting for.  Don't just vote for color, religion, or party.  Vote for someone you think will get the job done for the good of all, and then hold them to it.  God Bless America! Have a blessed day.
Praise the Lord!
Remember Jesus Loves You
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me.  Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation.  Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You Lord
Amen
