Envy Has Friend's

It Is Written, Galatians 5:19-21, now the works of the flesh are evident, which are; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, deceptions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, rivalries, and the like; of which I tell you before hand, just as I told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Envy is defined as a feeling of discontented or resentful longing, aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck. As you can see from the above verse, envy keeps company with a lot of other sinful things according to the Lord.
Many people use expressions such as, I envy so-and-so's great job, house, car, or whatever. You may have even said or felt what is often called, a little jealous.
There is no such thing as a little sin in God's eyes. Maybe that is because every evil thought, leads to other evil thoughts. Envy and its closest sister jealousy, can even lead to anger against God. People blame God because they don't have what they think they deserve. There is no need to make any other kind of a list of possible sins, they are all listed in Galatians 5:19-21, today's verse.
Remember this important point. This is a fallen world, because it goes against God's Word. It is what God thinks, that we should follow, not what the world or some politician thinks. Just because people, or a government, approve of something, it doesn't mean it is right. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

"Times That Try Men's Souls"

That was written by Thomas Paine, on 12/23/1776. He of course was referring to the American Revolution that was going on at that time.
It Is Written, Proverbs 3:5-6 trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
You don't have to be a genius to figure out that the entire world is a mess. No country is untouched by violence or natural disasters.
Many people believe that we are in the end times, because daily events all over the world, seem to line up with the description of the end times as it is  written in the Bible. Whether we are in the end times or not, it really doesn't matter. God is not sleeping, He knows everything that is going on, and how and when things work out according to His plan.
If you are saved, and believe in the Word of God, and trust Him, you know where you stand, and how it turns out. We win.
If you are with God, you have nothing to fear,no matter how ugly things look. People that spread panic and fear, such as some of the media, wouldn't be talking that way if they knew God.
It all boils down to trusting God, and not paying any attention to nonbelievers. They are in their own world created by them, because they choose to follow satan instead of God. They do have reason to worry, because their faith is placed in the wrong place. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Rebellion Is Dangerous

It Is Written, Proverbs 17:11, an evil man seeks only rebellion; therefore a cruel messenger will be sent against him.
You may be wondering what this verse means, and where does rebellion fit in. You will get some understanding from the following.
God tells us that He has a great plan for our lives. It is up to us to follow it or not. It is common for people to say that they cannot imagine how they could figure out what God's plan is. At one time, I felt that way too.
The easiest way to do it, is a dedicate your day to the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, before you make any decisions. I'm not talking about what to eat or what to wear, I'm talking about decisions that affect your relationship to God, your family, the people you associate with, and so on.
When we do it the way the Holy Spirit guides us, including the timing, it all works out great. Have you ever noticed how many decisions you made on your own, went wrong? Is the verse starting to make sense?
When we do things our way, we are telling God that His way is wrong. We reject Him, and in doing that, we open the door to satan and experience the hatred that satan has for us.
One more thing. We open up ourselves to all manner of sin, that can destroy us, and send us to the bad place. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Who, And What To Pray For

It Is Written, James 5:15-16, and the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Prayer is a very powerful thing. How do you decide who or what to pray for?
Many people approach prayer like a shopping list. It is usually about all kinds of things for themselves. While this is not a sin, it isn't what God had in mind.
Praying for others is an extremely powerful way to pray. Jesus always prayed for others. When you sincerely pray for others, you are blessed too.
If you ask the Holy Spirit, who or what to pray for, He will let you know. If you sincerely pray for who or what the Holy Spirit tells you, there is no question about whether or not that prayer will be answered. It will!
As all of us know, answers to prayer requires faith. satan however tries to plant doubt, and many times, if not most of the time, he wins. I believe the Holy Spirit helps us to know in our hearts what to do, so do not fail to do it.
When you pray, instead of trying to have faith on your own, and fighting doubt, just have faith that the Holy Spirit will make it happen. After all, all the power comes from Him. Pray, thank Him, and take yourself out of the picture. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Why Fear Death?

It Is Written, 1 Thessalonians 4:14, for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him, those who sleep in Jesus.
Are you afraid of death? You don't have to be. When you are saved, you realize that someday you will be with the Lord. When you look at physical death as the beginning, and not the end, it puts away fear. Physical death is just a transition to true spiritual life.
If you are dead spiritually however, death is an open door to eternity in hell. Again, don't be afraid of physical death because while you live, no matter how much evil you did, Jesus will forgive you, if you repent and accept Him as your Savior.
Where do you stand right now? Once you die, you no longer have a choice. Remember, if you make the wrong choice, you will live with it forever. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Know Jesus Like the Apostles Did

It Is Written, Acts 1:21-22 therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time as the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John to that day when He was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.
Many of us think we know Jesus. There's no question we know about  Him, but do we know Him?
You may be wondering how you get to really know the real Jesus. It seems to me that a good answer is, you must know Him as the apostles did.
It will take a little effort, but it is well worth it. Study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Read slowly, and put yourself in the story. See what Jesus said or did, and how the apostles reacted.
Instead of just observing, put yourself with the apostles for each event. See Jesus love for man, the way they did. Feel how witnessing the blind given sight, or the lame walking, would affect you. About the reaction to the loaves and fish?
Feel the anguish and heartbreak He felt when He was rejected and hated by some of the people He healed. He knew everything that would happen, but He loved and healed people anyway.
When you look at Him for who He is, it is not hard to believe that He loves us, no matter what we did in the past. Accept Jesus as Savior, repent, and believe. Hebrews 13:5 says, I will never leave you or forsake you. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Believe Salvation

It Is Written, Romans 10:9, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
There are many Christians who have a problem with believing that their prayers will get answered. This is not uncommon.
Answer these questions. Is Jesus your Savior? Did He die and rise again? Did you repent, and ask Him to come into your heart? Do you believe today's verse? If you answered yes to all of these questions, and agree with Ephesians 2:8-9, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast, you are saved.
Now back to the prayer problem. If you believe you are saved through faith, does it not seem reasonable to think, that the same faith in prayer, will get results? If you know the way Jesus is, by reading the Gospels, it is easy to take Him at His Word.
If you pursue anything with all your heart, you will become an expert. The more you work at growing your faith, the more you will receive results in your prayer life. As in life, you won't trust someone you don't know, so it stands to reason, before you can do anything, you must know Jesus. God bless you and your family. Prayer of salvation.
