You Are an Influence

It Is Written, Romans 6:13, and do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present  yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as righteousness to God.
Paul was talking about grace, and how we should avoid sin and the lusts of the body. Whether we live by grace or not, influences others as well as ourselves.
It is things we do, that has the greatest impact on other people, especially children. Even the youngest child will figure out if someone is a phony. You can tell a child that they shouldn't smoke for instance, then as you are talking you light up. You start a credibility gap with that child, that can end up shaping their personalities and actions.
Another example is someone who goes to church every week, but lives his life according to the flesh. Lying, cheating, gossip, and the like, do not tell people that you believe in God. Again a neighbor or friend might see the way you are and start acting like you.
If you are helpful to coworkers, don't gossip, you are kind, you will probably help someone else to act the same way, because the actions of a real Christian can help someone's heart change.
Whether for good or bad, what you do sends a message that is much more powerful than what you say. Jesus spent His life on Earth, practicing what He preached. What do your actions preach to other people? Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Time

It Is Written, Psalm 16:8, I have set the Lord before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
The Lord is always with us because He loves us. Unfortunately, most of us forget that. Since He created us, and showers us with blessings, it is only right that we should love and honor Him.
Here is an example of what I am talking about. Suppose you are busy all day with the cares of the world. You never find time to say two words to the Lord all day. The Bible is not on your to do list.
Well my friend, it is time to reevaluate your priorities. Is everything you do more important than your Creator, or your eternal life? Do you spend too much time on things that have no real value in your life?
Here is a little exercise that will give you a true picture of what is important to you. Every day has 86,400 seconds. How do you spend those seconds? Be honest. Take the time to list everything you do, and give it a value in seconds. Is God on the list? Where is He on the list? If you were God, how would you feel about the score?
If God was not on your list, or you didn't have time to see where He fits in, I suggest you reconsider your path in life and beyond. It is never too soon to start in the right direction, and it is never too late. God is always with you. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Faith Is No Mystery

It Is Written, Romans 4:21, and being fully convinced that what He had promised, He was also able to perform.
By now you have probably heard dozens of verses about faith. You might be getting discouraged, because you think you don't have faith. All kinds of negativity pops into your head about your prayers being answered or not. This only adds to your doubt about your faith.
First of all, according to Romans 12:3, we have all been given a measure of faith. Most of us think that it is some impossible thing, that we just don't have enough of. We cannot make ourselves have faith, the way most people understand faith.
Faith is a gift from God. Psalm 37:5 says, commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass. The elusive answer is right there. Faith is just trusting in the Lord.
When you pray, place your trust and hope(expectation of what you prayed for) in God. If you believe in Him to make it happen, that is faith.
Remember this. If God said it, it is. If the Bible said it, it is. Faith is just a matter of trust in God. If you know God through His Word, and follow it, it is a no-brainer. Trust in God is the answer to all thing's. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

God Is Known to Everyone

It Is Written, Romans 1:20, for since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.
I have heard people say that God is not fair, because many people have not heard of Him. As this verse says, look around you. Can any of what you see be the accident that unbelievers speak of?
Some people may not have heard about God in a school or a church, but since man was first on the earth, in his heart he knew there was a creator. People for centuries did not want to anger God, and did their best to do things they thought would guarantee his favor. They didn't even know his name. They were probably much smarter than many people today, who constantly reject God and creation. They have eyes to see and do not see.
God is absolutely fair about everything. It is up to His judgment how each person is accountable, not ours. Relax and remember that the creator of all things, is very capable of figuring it all out. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Memorial Day, No Greater Love

It Is Written, John 15:13, greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
On this Memorial Day, we honor the men and women of the military. We can never be too grateful to those who leave family, job, and they're comfy life, so that we can live in safety and freedom.
God gave His only son so that we could be saved. This was the greatest sacrifice of all time. Countless men and women left their mothers, spouses, and families, so we could be free.
Even if we are at peace, these heroes stay alert and still sacrifice. We sleep peacefully at night because of their sacrifice. They are a perfect example of what John 15:13 says.
So let us remember what they are doing for us. Many have given their lives over the years for our freedom. They are doing God's work and I'm sure that God honors them too.
They defend us physically, and most importantly spiritually. As we honor them, we should praise God for these, our brothers and sisters. Keep them in your prayers always, so that Almighty God will protect them and bring them home safely.

Enjoy Life

It Is Written, Proverbs 16:9, a man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
We go through life mostly doing the things we must do. There are some occasions where we do what we enjoy. What most of us don't realize, is that regardless of what it is, there will eventually be an end to it.
Realizing that God is in control puts a different light on things. Everything in life is directed by God, based on our decision to let Him guide us. Compare God to a GPS. When we miss a turn and start going in the wrong direction, the GPS recalculates to get us back on track. God does the same thing.
Since God is in control, we can relax. If you stop and realize that everything you do with the proper attitude pleases and praises God, your must do, won't seem as hard to do. It has been said, that when you do something, do it like it was your last day. That bit of worldly advice can be taken a different way.
Enjoy everything you do to the max, because it is a gift from God. It is true anything can be the last time you do it, but that doesn't necessarily mean death. There are many reasons you stop doing certain things. If you put yourself into something with joy, and do it with all your heart, God may just present you with a new gift. His plans for you are better than anything you can come up with, and His plans lead to heaven.
One last thought. The path to heaven is long and narrow, and without the Lord's guidance we would probably get lost. So put your hope and trust in Him, and you will have peace in your heart. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Receive the Holy Spirit 2 Ways

It Is Written,1 John 4:13, by this we know we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His spirit.
There is quite a bit of confusion about the Holy Spirit, even among many Christians. There are in fact two ways to receive the Holy Spirit, and  both are evidenced differently.
Everyone receives the Holy Spirit when they accept Jesus Christ as Savior.  At that time we receive what is called the fruit of the Spirit. These fruits as they are called, identify us as Christians to unbelievers. The Holy Spirit comes automatically at salvation.
The fruits of the spirit are found in Galatians 5:22-23. They are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. If you aren't sure what some of these mean, do not use a regular dictionary. Google Bible Questions Answered, and you will find reliable sites to explain them.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are found in1 Corinthians 12:7-11. Some people say that they stopped when the apostles died. Not true. There is plenty of evidence they still exist if you look around you.
The baptism in the Holy Spirit is received by choice. You must be baptized by your pastor or another real Christian. The gifts are, the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, healings by the Holy Spirit, working of miracles by the spirit, teaching, leadership, giving, mercy, and faith, prophecy, discerning of spirits, and tongues which is the Holy Spirit speaking through you, the interpretation of tongues.
Unlike the fruits which everyone receives at salvation. The gifts are given to individuals as the Holy Spirit sees fit. The gifts are usually given one at a time for a specific purpose, as the Holy Spirit helps you in whatever He calls you to do. I must add this little caveat. If you do not believe in the power of the Holy Spirit working through you, you will never experience any of the gifts. Faith is the key to everything in a Christian life. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!
