God Does, We Receive

It Is Written, Hebrews 11:1, now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
It is very difficult for many Christians to accept the fact, that works do not earn blessings. They feel that they do not deserve blessings if they don't work for them. As a result, many are confused and unhappy.
Blessings in all their forms, are a gift from God. A gift is not earned, but given with love. It must be received from God to be a blessing. If we put restrictions on the gift, and do not receive it, we grieve God, the giver. Our gift to God, is praise, worship, gratefulness. We do these things verbally, in our hearts, and living according to His Word.
To put it in simple terms. Do you require your children to work for everything you give them? Would you stop giving them if they didn't work, but were thankful, and pleased you by their behavior?
If we can give our children, unconditional love, and things that make them happy, how much more will our Father give us? We don't have to think about it, all we have to do is believe according to God's Word. If we really look at each day in our lives, we will notice blessings that we never realized before. Try it and see what I mean. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Time To Decide

It Is Written, Proverbs 3:4-5, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Most of us go through life with problems facing us most of the time. We get over one, and up pops another. Some of these problems are the result of choices we make, and some just seem to happen.
We can go through life in a constant state of anger, depression, frustration, or relative peace and calm. Problems usually come up without warning and catch us off guard. That is usually when the trouble starts.
How we handle a problem, is a choice we have to make. We can control the problem, or the problem can control us. For instance, we are in a check out line that is long. It is hot and you are tired. The line seems to be standing still. You notice that the first person in line is holding things up because she has so many coupons.
Ask yourself this. If I get angry or get verbally abusive, will that solve the problem? More than likely, no. So choose to say to yourself, this is not worth being upset about, and ruining the day. Let it go.
If you are having trouble with problems, choose to give them to the number one problem solver, God Himself. Then just  relax your mind, and have peace. Sounds pretty simple I know, but it does work. It works because that is what God told us to do. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

The Real Meaning Of Christmas

It Is Written, Luke 2:10-14, then the angel said to them, "do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger". And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the Heavenly host praising God and saying glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace and goodwill toward men!
Many people recognize Christmas as representing the birth of Jesus. They are fortunate because they at least recognize Jesus to some extent, during this season.
It is unfortunate, but many Christians do not recognize the true significance of Jesus birth. It is the reality of John 3:16. If not for this event, all of mankind would be destined for hell.
Jesus birth started the wheels in motion, that eventually led to His crucifixion, death, and resurrection. His life made salvation possible for all who accepted Him as Savior.
So this Christmas, take a little time, especially with your family, to rejoice, for the greatest gift God gave us, his only Son. Have a joyful, grateful, Christmas, celebrating the beginning of our redemption. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Keep In Touch

It Is Written, Acts 20:35, ( Paul said to the Ephesians ) I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said," it is more blessed to give than to receive." Paul was referring to our time as well as our money.
As we approach this Christmas season, we think about close friends and relatives, and acknowledge what they mean to us, with a card, or a phone call, or even a visit.
It is the time of year that warms and softens the hearts of many people. It is the perfect time to show our appreciation, especially to those who have helped us in some way, even if they just listen to us.
It is  also a good time to give some thought to others, even people we don't know. A kind word, doing something helpful, or even giving a couple of dollars to a person in need, the church, or some charity.
Acts of kindness are always a blessing to the giver, and the receiver. Both are blessed. Giving of yourself, and your time, in an attitude of love, makes God smile.
God gave us His best, His only son, for our salvation. We should make an effort to give our best to God. How do we do that? By following Jesus example, in how we act with God's children. Remember, we are all God's children, and all of our acts of charity and kindness should not be just at this time of year, but should be a way of life that we follow all year in remembrance of what Jesus did for us. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Ho Hum Attitude

It Is Written, Ephesians 2:8, for by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God.
Many of us go through life, without giving a thought to what comes after we die. Many believe that there is nothing after we die. Others believe there is a Heaven, but do not believe in hell.
Most of these thoughts come to people because they would rather have false happiness, than to face the truth. Listed below are the truths about common beliefs held by many.
If there is no Heaven or hell, why would Jesus suffer and die? For what purpose?
There is only one way to Heaven, that is through Jesus.
God does not send people to hell, they choose hell when they reject Jesus.
All the good works you do, no matter how many, will not earn salvation.
The Bible is God's instruction manual to us. It does not change, and will never change. You may try to change God's Word, to match the way we live in these days, but that will never change what God says. You could change the law of gravity to fit what you believe, but there will still be gravity. If that is true about gravity, how can you possibly change God's Word? God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

What If ?

It Is Written, Psalm 121:7, the Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.
When I woke up this morning, a chilling thought crossed my mind. What if we went to bed at night feeling very good about everything, and woke up in the morning, to find out that the rapture happened that night, and we got left behind.
Can you imagine how the knowledge of that would affect you mentally and physically? Your realization that the Bible is true. The panic as you read about what is going to happen.
Some people do not believe in the rapture. What if they are wrong? Do you want to take a chance on what someone else thinks?
Many people, including many people that say they are Christians, believe there are a number of ways to get to Heaven, and that all people believe in the same God. If you have thoughts like that, you'd better check your Bible.
The only true answer is in the Bible. In acts 4:12, it says," there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved". I'd say that leaves no room for doubt.
After you read the Bible and find out what's what, say the prayer of salvation with all your heart, truly repent, and you will be saved. The fact is whether the rapture happens in your lifetime or not, you are still a child of God, for eternity with Him. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!
