God, The Ultimate Parent

It Is Written, Psalm 103:13, as a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him.

It is difficult for many people to accept the idea that God is our father, in every sense of the word.

To get a better idea about how God feels about us, try looking at it from a different perspective. Instead of comparing God the father, to our earthly father, look at it as your relationship to your children.

Any good parent wants the best for their children. You teach them right from wrong, and what it takes to be a good person. When they hurt, you hurt even more, because you love them.

A parent is prepared to make any sacrifice for the benefit of their children. You guide them in the way they should go, and to keep them from making mistakes.

In spite of all your efforts, the children do not listen, and end up learning the hard way. It doesn't  matter what they do, you still love them and forgive them.

So you have to ask yourself, if our creator gave His only son to save us, and the Holy Spirit to guide us, how much more of a parent is He to us?

Just as we appreciate our children's love for us, God our father, appreciates our love for Him. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus Loves You

The Last Time

 Luke 12 :16-20

Jesus spoke a parable to them saying, the ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself saying, what shall I do, since I have no more room to store my crops? So he said, I will do this, I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my goods and crops. And I will say to my soul, soul, you have many goods laid up for many years, take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul will be required of you, then whose will those things be which you have provided?

I don’t know about You, but to me it is one of the verses that sends a chill up my spine. The amazing truth about this versus though, it is also one of the best verses to get you thinking. Let's look at a few biblical examples to get us thinking.

Matthew 24 36 - 39 , 44

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. As in the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the son of man be, for as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the Ark and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man be. And therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

As you can see by these examples people had no clue when the end was coming,  so you're probably asking, what has that got to do with me? I'm glad you asked.

Let's start with the people you love. If you were with one or all of them, and you knew you would never see them again, How would you act ?

If your son or daughter had something they felt was important, and they wanted to talk to you about it, and at the same time you knew you would not see either of them again, do you think you would find the time to talk to them?

The point of what I am trying to say is, you never know about the unexpected. It usually doesn't involve death, but it can still hurt. A small example from my life. For 7 years we visited our son in another state. Every time we went there, which was usually three or four times a year, I went to the outdoor shooting range.

Every time I planned the trip, it was good just thinking about it. On one visit however, I didn't go to  the range for whatever reason. I figured that it was no big deal, I would go next time. My son had to move to another country for his job, I had major surgery, and I never made it back to the range. My last visit, was my last visit.

 Okay let's sum it up.

Accept Jesus as your personal savior now.

 Get right with God.

Treasure your family, and be there for them.

Be a good Christian leader for your family.

 Don't put off important things.

 Always be loving and kind.

Always ask what Jesus would do in a situation.

Get future news from the Bible.

Remember this, someday will be the last time, and it will be when we least expect it.  God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus, please forgive all of my sins, and come into my heart as my personal savior. I want to serve only you.

Praise the Lord!

Amen

A Perfect Life

Revelation 3:20-21

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will grant to sit with Me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Practically everyone has their own idea of a perfect life. Almost anyone you ask, will tell you they have a dream of what that life would be in every detail. Bubble bursting time. There is no one on this Earth who has a perfect life. Even people who have reached what they thought was a perfect life, ended up being disappointed.

Have you considered that maybe a big part of the problem is the definition of perfect. The definition of perfect is, complete without defect or blemish. Content means, satisfied and happy.

Perhaps we look at things that are unrealistic. Take a rainy day for instance; One person is happy it is raining, and another is depressed because it is raining. There are countless examples in life that tell the same story. there's an old saying that is true now, and it will be true tomorrow. ”Nothing is good or bad, the mind makes it so”.  So what is the answer? A few things to think about.

It is okay to dream. The trick however is to be happy now. Start looking at what is good in your life now. Look at the basics first, and compare it to other less fortunate people. Do your best with what you have, and you will be happy now, instead of being unhappy thinking about what you don't have.

You may have everything you need in order to realize that dream, but you don't recognize it because you can't see through your negative attitude about your situation. Think about that and the following verses.

Luke 12 : 15

And He said to them, take heed and be aware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.

Hebrews 13: 5

Let your conduct be without covetousness, be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.

The goal or dream we should have, is that someday we and our families and the people we love will be with the Lord in Heaven. That starts with salvation. The time is now, the hour is late. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

 Remember Jesus loves you.

 Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus, please forgive all of my sins ,and come into my heart, as my personal savior. I want to serve only You.

Praise the Lord!

Amen

God Or Problem?

It Is Written, Proverbs 12:25, anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.

You cannot expect to live life with no problems. It is how you handle these problems that makes the difference. Do you accept them, or reject them?

Here is a hint that really helps, but you must make the choice to follow it. It all boils down to focus. If you focus on a problem, it seems to grow. Before you know it, the problem is being fed by your attention to it.

If you are a regular reader of these blogs, you have heard the quote from 1 Peter 5: 7, casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. Unfortunately, most people do not believe that this is the truth. These are not just words, they are the truth.

Start out knowing the fact that God is bigger than any problem you may have. Make the choice to believe. No matter what you see, if you start to doubt, re focus on the love and power of God. Just as focusing on the problem makes the problem grow, focusing on God and His power, makes the problem go away. If you doubt that, try it on a small problem, and you may get the shock of your life, I guarantee it.

As with anything in life, you get what you focus on, even though 99% of the time you don't realize that is what you're doing. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Darkness

1 John  5: 19

We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

A brief analogy. Suppose you found yourself in a coal mine. There is no light. You stumble around because there are many tunnels, and you can't see your hand in front of your face. It is so dark that feelings of oppression, depression, and total hopelessness overcome you.

You stumble around, about to lose your mind, when you suddenly see a tiny light in the distance. As you stumble, the light gets bigger, and your spirits rise. When you reach the daylight, and breathe the fresh air, you experience total Joy.

If you have eyes to see, you realize that the world we live in, is just as dark spiritually, because satan, the ruler of this world is the Prince of Darkness.

1Peter 5:8

Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Hate, lies, corruption, and rejection of God, is what satan is all about. He is the top deceiver of all-time. With satan bad is good, and good is bad.

2 Corinthians 4: 4

Whose minds the Gods of this age have blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

We can go on and on. Anyone can see what is going on in this world. Some people know something's not right, and some even realize that Jesus is the light their hearts have been looking for. The place to find Him my friends is in His Word the Bible.

John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying. “ I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life”.

I guess you can't get any plainer than that. Most Christians know by now, Jesus knocks at  everyone’s door,  but not everyone lets Him in. Someday time will run out for this world, and no one knows when that will be. Don't count on being able to decide tomorrow if you want Jesus in your heart, because tomorrow may not come. God bless you and your family.

Praise the Lord!

You Are Valuable

 Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

One of the great tragedies in life, is that very few of us were taught how much God loves us. If you think about today's verse, you can pretty much figure that only God can love that much, and how sad it is that we don't find out very early in life.

Psalm 139 13 - 16

For you formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was made in secret, and secure fully wrought in the lowest parts of the Earth, your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in your book they all were written, the day's fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.

God knew you and your future before you even were. It shows how you were planned and then created.  He included a soul in you that would have a longing for Him and an empty spot in your heart that can only be filled by Jesus. You are not an accident, but we're planned by God to the last detail.

Ephesians 2: 8

For by Grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.

After we were created, God loved us so much that He sent His only Son to die for our sins. That is a fact. Think about this, if you were the only one, Christ Jesus would have sacrificed Himself just for you. God gave you a gift of Grace, so that you would know Him, and follow His plan for your salvation.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Since God loves us so much, He wants to have a relationship with us. He gave the Holy Spirit to be our guide, helper, and teacher in God's ways and plans for us. Is there any way to describe all of these blessings except through God's love for each and every one of us? God bless you and your family.

Praise the Lord!

Faith-Doing Something

It is written, Romans 15:13, now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Many people think that just stepping out in faith, guarantees success. That is true to a point. Let me explain.

I speak now from personal experience and what I learned the hard way. There are some important things to consider. I have listed the most common mistakes.

Make sure it is God telling you what to do, and not your own feelings taking over. If you have doubts check His Word the Bible. The Bible says, whatever we ask in Jesus name, according to the Word of God, in faith, we shall receive. Stand by your prayer and God's Word no matter how things look.

God rearranges all the circumstances that must come together to answer your prayer. That being the case, timing is critical, and affects whatever it is we are praying about.

If we wait on God instead of just jumping ahead of God's timing, we will succeed, because all of the pieces will then be in place. Pray, receive, believe, and the most important, wait for God. You will know the right time, because what seemed impossible, will come about so easy, that you will be shocked. God bless you and your family.

Praise the Lord!
