Faith And Works

Every Christian should know by now, that works alone will not save anyone. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:8-9, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God. Not of works, lest anyone should boast.

You may well ask, if that is true ( and it is ) . Where do works come in. Are they really worthless? Certainly not. Let us look at the facts. Faith and works are partners. While it is true that we are saved by faith, we have another responsibility.

James 2:14, what does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? Verse 17 says, the also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. Verse 20 says, but do you want to know, O foolish man that faith without works is dead? Verse 24 says you see  then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. And finally verse 26, for as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also

So what do we get out of all this? It really isn't hard to figure out, that faith is the first step to being a real Christian. Matthew 5:16, let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven. Luke 11: 33, no one, when he has lit a  lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lamp stand, that those who come in may see the light. Mark 4:21, also he said to them, is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed, is it not to be set on a lamp stand?

These words are Jesus words. We are to reflect Jesus light in this dark world. We can only do that if we follow His example. Remember this. satan knows the Bible, so following Jesus takes a lot more than that. It should be obvious by now, that when we are saved, we are reflecting Jesus light to the world, by living a life of good works just the way Jesus did. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Remember Jesus Loves You
