My Time With Jesus Tuesday

WWJD

1 Peter 2:21, For to this you were called because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.

Most of us have heard of WWJD, what would Jesus do? Did you know that the Bible contains verses that are really showing us by Jesus’ examples?

John 14:12, most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father.

Philippians 2: 3-5, let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interest, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 4:1-2, Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lust of men, but for the will of God.

At this point we can see that WWJD, is not a cliché, or a catchy phrase. The problem starts if we don’t know Jesus or what He would do. To know Jesus, we must know what the Bible says about Jesus.

If you want to follow Jesus’ example, you probably want to start your day by asking the Holy Spirit to guard your thoughts and tongue. Think about WWJD before you say or do anything.

If we are thoughtless or hasty we may possibly say or do what satan would like us to say or do. Words are powerful and can be used for good or evil. Actions however leave a lasting impression for good or evil.

Your words or actions can produce destruction in the lives of many people. WWJD produces great and Godly examples, that may be the start of someone’s salvation. God bless you and your family.

Ask Yourself What If

Jeremiah 1: 5, before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I Sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.

What if you woke up in the morning with a burning sensation? You opened your eyes, and you were staring into the laughing face of satan.

What do you suppose would be your first thoughts? This must be a dream, or this can’t be real. You finally realize that all of it is true, and there is no way out.

Suddenly satan starts to mock you. He laughs and tells you how easy it was to get you. As a way of shaming, you even further and showing his contempt for you he shows you your life. First though he gathers millions of demons to join in the fun of ridiculing you.

The first thing he shows you is that you had many chances to avoid this disaster, and you were too stubborn or proud to admit you needed God.

Not being aware of satan and his lies you were an easy target. You chose money, earthly recognition, the ways of the world, and the love of pleasure of all sorts, as your new God. At some point you were so impressed with yourself you became your own God.

1 John 2: 15-17, Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the World-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of this world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Then satan hits you with the worst part. If you would have repented, and accepted Jesus as your savior, God would have forgiven you. This would not have happened to you. You would not be spending all eternity in hell. This would be by far the biggest regret you ever had, and you will carry it with you forever.

Then God in His Infinite mercy has given you another chance. Your alarm clock goes off, and you wake up in a cold sweat, and you realize it was just a very bad dream or was it really a wake-up call.

What will you do? Ask forgiveness of almighty God and be saved or be your own God in hell. God bless you and your family.

Relationship

Revelation 3:20, Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.

There are many people that think following Jesus is some kind of religion, and they want no part of that. The other side of the coin is, they believe everyone will go to Heaven, and that there are many roads to Heaven. Thinking that there are many ways to Heaven, or that you can work your way to Heaven, is a lie from satan that many unfortunately believe.

John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Ephesians 2: 8-9, for by Grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of Works, lest anyone should boast.

Romans 10: 9, that if you confess with your mouth to the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

What many people do not understand is that being a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ is a relationship, not a religion. There are no laws or rituals made up by men, the only laws are the ones that come from God Himself. The relationship is by the grace of God. Everything in the believer’s life is by the grace of God.

I don’t know about others but when I pray, I do not read prayers written by others. I talk to Father God from my heart.  Mostly I thank Him and I praise Him. It is that simple. If you want a relationship with our Lord, Just talk to Him, and tell Him what is on your heart. Read His Word in order to know when satan is lying to you. God bless you and your family .

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Do Miracles Happen

John 4:48, Then Jesus said to him, unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.

When Jesus walked this earth, He performed many miracles. Things that were impossible in the natural world were accomplished by Jesus’ Word. He passed on this power to His Apostles.

John 14:12, most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Miracles brought many people to the faith. It took miracles for most people to believe.  It may be hard to believe, but there were people in the crowd that would not believe no matter what.

John 20:29, Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

If you have read the Great Commission in the Bible, you see that after the resurrection Jesus gave instructions to the apostles and His disciples. I believe these instructions were passed on to us.

Many people do not believe in miracles today because they don’t see what they think miracles should look like. Just like the Jews could not accept Jesus as the Messiah, because He didn’t look like what they expected.

Miracles happen every day. Mostly small ones we consider as luck, coincidence, or as nothing at all. Think about this. If you are a believer, ask the Holy Spirit to help you notice them in your life. He will never let you down.

The name of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit can do the impossible. Jesus said so.  Start thinking about the fact that if God created it, He could fix it. We cannot dismiss what God can do by what we can or cannot do.

If you open your heart and mind to what Jesus said you will see astounding things. If God could only do what we can do, He wouldn’t be God. As Jesus said 

Matthew 18:3, assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of Heaven.

What Jesus was referring to was the trust that a child has when a parent tells them something.  A good idea would be to take God at His word, do not overthink it, just believe. God bless you and your family.  Praise The Lord!

Quiet Time

Matthew 6: 6, But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

Have you ever had a quiet time with the Lord? By quiet time, I mean a time when you met with Jesus in private. You are missing something really important in your life if you aren't separating yourself from the world and spending some time everyday with Jesus.

When I first started spending private time with Jesus, it wasn't easy. I woke up an hour earlier in order to do it. satan stepped in so fast I couldn't believe it. Stuff like telling me I was foolish, my bed was warm and comfortable, do it later, nothing will change, and every other thing he could think of.

Up until the day I decided to do it, satan realized something that I didn't. Private time with our lord Jesus gave me a closer relationship with him, and opened my spiritual eyes.

During this special time, I pour my heart out to Him. I try not to complain, but I do tell Him about what I am thinking and feeling. As I talked to our Lord, a feeling of Peace came over me. I know He knows it before I ever tell Him, but something about telling Him, allows you to realize He will take care of everything.

Mark 6: 31, And He said to them, come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest awhile. For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. 

If you desire to at least try it for a week or two, know that satan will try very hard to stop you. Don't let him do it. I start my day with Jesus, and a few people I know do the same thing. A lot of my friends end their day with private time with Jesus. The important thing is that it is private time. Once you start, you will get so much out of it, that you will do it everyday, and  actually look forward to it. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Lessons Learned

John 3:16, For God’s so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Since these words are true, we must look at possible meanings for this statement. God created us with the intention that we should return to Him at the end of our time on Earth. As a way of giving us confidence in our journey, He also said the following verses in the Bible.

Romans 5:8, But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 John 4:16, And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Isaiah 41: 10, Fear not, for I Am with You; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Knowing how much God loves us, should give us faith in everything we face in this life. If you read the Bible, you will see it as an instruction book, showing the way back to our future home. You will also see that the Holy Spirit was sent to teach, help, and guide us.

As we go through this life, we are constantly facing tests of Faith. We decide if we follow God or satan. The Holy Spirit teaches and guides us down the right path. Of course, satan tries to lead us in the wrong direction.

Life is lived our way or God’s way. Or put another way, satan’s way or God’s way. satan takes what God wants for us and puts his spin on it trying to convince us that God is somehow cheating us. If we don’t know God’s word, we can easily be fooled.

God allows satan and every person a choice of how to live. God wants the best for us including eternity with Him.  satan wants our destruction and then eternity with him in hell.

God directs your path to Him, but you decide. Everything that happens in your life is preparing you for something. Sometimes it is hard to see it that way, but eventually you will see the reason, and be grateful because you will realize that it was part of your salvation.

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Yes Or No

Galatians 3:28, there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

In case you somehow didn’t notice, everyone has different opinions about everything. This is true for several reasons.

Why is it so hard for people to have the same opinion you have? Why are they so stubborn and think they are always right?

For starters, people usually think the way their parents think. This line of thinking can go back hundreds of years.

Opinions are sometimes formed by the people we associate with, a sort of herd mentality. They think and act from peer pressure and wanting to belong. Challenging someone’s opinion is usually perceived as saying that person is wrong, so they usually get even more stubborn.

Also consider the fact that faith and belief in God is often a factor. People that believe what the Bible says is true, usually have an exact opposite opinion of what is normal behavior in the world.

Job 32: 10, Therefore I say, listen to me, I also will declare my opinion.

The best thing any of us can do, is evaluate our opinion by considering if we can do anything to change anything. Make a list of two columns. What we can change, and what we can’t. We do it God’s way or we don’t. Follow God or not? Don’t get upset with someone who doesn’t think like you do. In the end it will be God that decides between right and wrong.

1  Kings 18:21, And Elijah came to all the people, and said, how long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him. But the people answered him not a word
