My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Guilt

1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Guilt is defined as the fact of having committed a breach of conduct, especially violating the law and involving a penalty.

From the time we were old enough to remember, we have been acquainted with guilt. Even before we knew what guilt was, we unconsciously followed the rules and most of us learned that if we did not listen to our parents, there were consequences. In my day, it was spanking. Spanking got your attention like nothing else did. The thing that made you do what you were told was fear of a spanking.

Luke 15:7, I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents then over 99 just persons who need no repentance.

As we got older, we began to form a conscience. Now most of us felt bad when we did something wrong. We also found that many times the degree or violation usually determined the degree of punishment. School, however and it’s discipline was different. The people passing out the punishment didn’t love you as your parents did. They followed a set of guidelines for crime and punishment, no excuses, No partiality.

When we became adults, things got even tougher. You could be reminded daily by your boss or co-workers you didn’t measure up. Guilt really came into the picture at that point. You could be made to feel inadequate everywhere you went, only this time you punished yourself. Anxiety, stress, depression, all were among the penalties you gave yourself. At times you could feel so inferior when you thought about what you did or did not do or you were supposed to do, that it ruined your life, your family, and anything you touched. This of course would be an extreme case.

Unfortunately, some Churches were preaching condemnation. You don’t pray enough; you don’t dress right, your hair is too long, too short, and so on, all man made rules. You are even guilt ridden in church. You’ll go to hell if you don’t shape up you rotten sinner.

One day you find Jesus. You learn about how much He loves you, you learned that he died on the cross to save all men, even rotten, no good people like us. You accept Him as your savior and condemnations cease to exist. You are saved by grace, this time someone else ( The Lord Jesus Christ) gave ultimate hope and forgiveness for your life of screw ups. You are now a child of God destined to spend eternity with Him.

2 Corinthians 7:10, For Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to Salvation, not to be regretted, but the sorrow of the world produces death.

After all of this, along comes satan. He isn’t happy. He hates Jesus and wants you back. He tempts you to sin, and try’s to plant doubt about your salvation in your heart. You begin to believe him, maybe go along with the temptations. But now your heart feels guilty, so you repent, and your loving Father takes you back, and your guilt is put to rest. Now your conscience is your guide. I think the best advice I ever heard was follow the peace in your heart and you won’t go wrong. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you suffered and died on the cross and rose again from the dead in order for me to have my sins forgiven and the opportunity of salvation. Please forgive all of my sins and come into my heart as my personal savior, I want to serve only you

Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise The Lord!

Compassion

Proverbs 19:17
, He who has pity on the poor.Lends to the Lord. And he will pay back what he has given.

Compassion is defined as sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. Compassion covers a lot of territory. When we see starving children on television and we feel their hunger and despair. We sometimes feel in our hearts that we should try to help. So we send money. At that point, we have to ask ourselves. Did we do it out of guilt because we have so much? Or did we genuinely feel the pain they felt. What was the biggest reason We did what we did ?

All of us must ask ourselves the question. Is it.making us feel good about ourselves, that we contributed. Or did we really care? 'm not trying to lay a guilt trip on myself or anyone else. But the Lord God Almighty sees the heart, and any compassion must come from the heart.

You may know someone who just lost a loved one.Or someone in the hospital, or is in financial trouble. Kind words are wonderful, but sometimes it goes further than that. Maybe a couple of hot meals for the bereaved family. Maybe someone could use a ride to see sick family or friends. A caring person during times of stress or grief is a blessing from God. Do for someone else what you would appreciate someone doing for you?

Remember, true compassion does not involve judging whether someone deserves help. As Creator God, is the judge of everyone. It is written. With what measure you judge, you will be judged. I believe we are confronted with people or situations, where our compassion and love for God is tested. I believe God has a sense of humor too. Many times He will bring someone into the picture that we don't particularly like. Do good anyway, it means more to God.

An important fact to remember is. Situations that come up that require true compassion.may be difficult for us but it is an opportunity from the Lord our God.

God bless you and your family,

Praise The Lord!

Remember, Jesus loves you.

Prayer of salvation.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you suffered and died on the cross and rose again from the dead. I believe you did this for my salvation.I ask you for forgiveness of all my sins and to come into my heart as my personal Savior.I believe and I receive the greatest gift anyone ever received and that is salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Grace

Titus 3:7, That having been justified by His grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

We have all heard about God’s grace. It sounds like something good, but what is it really? According to the Hebrew word cheu one of the meanings is kindness. The other word chinnah means favor. The Greek word charis means a divine influence on the heart.

There are several Hebrew and Greek words for favor. They can be summed up by kindness, delight, and benefit given. I don’t know about anyone else but now I have a better understanding of the verses I read on grace and favor. To me it really shows God’s love to me when I understand what He is giving me.

Ephesians 1:7, in Him we have redemption through His blood the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

If you start reading Scripture, and you run across the word grace or favor. Re-read the verses, keeping in mind what the words grace and favor really mean. To me, when I do that, it makes the verses much more powerful. It can also explain some verses. This is someone says for instance, I found a job by the grace of God, you know he is referring to the kindness of God.

Ephesians 2:8, for by Grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift from God.

I don’t know about you, but the way I feel about Grace is hard to describe. It is hard for most people to believe that the grace of God is a free gift, and if accepted salvation is assured. You no longer have to worry about works, how many works, the kind of works, in order to go to Heaven. The only thing we have to do when we receive the grace of God is, realize it is an invitation to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your one and only savior. God Bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

 Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you suffered and died on the cross and rose again from the dead. I believe you did this for my salvation. I ask you to forgive all my sins, and come into my heart as my personal savior. I believe and I receive the greatest gift anyone ever received, and that is salvation.

God's Promises Sunday

The Gift Of Healing

James 5:15, And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins he will be forgiven.

The subject today is one that has drawn countless skeptics. It seems that only true believers acknowledge it, but a small percentage experience it. I have heard comments about healing, and miracles in general. People get all upset and talk about their being a catch to everything God does. He does have a few conditions usually, but not always. You have to ask for healing, You must believe for what you asked, and then you have to receive the healing in your heart. I guess according to some people that is totally unreasonable.

I could tell you at least a dozen miracles of healing that I know personally but that would take too long. Instead, I will tell you of two that happened to me personally. There were others but I’ll stick to two. After surgery years ago, I developed diabetes. The doctor suggested all the regular solutions. Lose weight, exercise, and so on. It finally got to the point where I had to start taking insulin. The dosage got up to be a pretty high amount.

A couple of years ago I finally woke up and spoke to the diabetes and claimed healing in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I took a step of faith and lowered my insulin by five units.  I was checking my glucose readings every day and the number stayed the same. I started lowering my insulin every week by five reasoning that if it increased in steps, the reverse was reasonable. Finally, I was down to no insulin. I checked three times a day expecting good numbers. They were right on target. They have what they call an A1C test that measures your average glucose for three months that had just lowered the range from 7 to 6. Under six is normal. The first test was  five point five, the second five point six. I had about six of these tests in one and a half years, and my highest number was five point 7, sure looks to me like I was healed.

Psalm 41:3, The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; you will sustain him on his sick bed.

One more quick story. I accidentally ripped out a big part of the nail on a big toe. It was ripped the long way. Plenty of blood. I just wrapped it and prayed about it. The next day it looked bad. I repeated my belief in my healing. The next day my toe was swollen and infected. At this point I told my wife maybe I should go to the doctor. Immediately the thought came to my heart, do you believe or not? I rebuked the infection in Jesus name and claimed my healing once again. The next morning the infection was gone and a few days later, the toe was normal. It did however take a few weeks for the nail to grow back.

I’m not telling you to do what I did. I know a couple of people who asked the Lord to help the doctor heal them. There’s nothing wrong with that. I did what I did because I had a habit of putting the Lord out on a limb. He has never fallen off. I cannot express to you the importance of just believing that one way or another the Lord will give you that healing whether it’s a miracle like mine or through a doctor. Either way He is the great healer. God bless you and your family.  Praise The Lord!

 Remember Jesus loves you.

 Prayer of Salvation.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you suffered and died on the cross and rose again from the dead. I believe you did this for my salvation. I ask you for forgiveness of all my sins, and to come into my heart as my personal savior. I believe and I receive the greatest gift anyone ever received, and that is  the gift of salvation. Amen

Condemnation

Matthew 12:37, by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

As humans we tend to judge or condemn other people. Even Christians slip up sometime or react to something in a typical reflex type of situation, and judge, blame, criticize, or condemn someone else. We even have times that we don’t realize we’re doing it.

Romans 8:1, there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

There are times we judge loved ones without even knowing. In our hearts we are trying to help, but in the process, we sometimes bring up the past, open old wounds. We don’t realize how much words can hurt. The level of hurt seems to correspond directly to the relationship the person being judged has to the one judging. If a parent or other person that you love, or respect criticizes you, it usually hurts the most. A lot of cases you really do hurt the ones you love. You may love them so much that you try to help in your own knowledge or opinion and that is a mistake. If the one criticizing is just anybody it usually does not hurt anywhere near as much.

Psalm 34:22, The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Another thought is, the person you are bringing up old mistakes with, is usually aware that they messed up, and they feel horrible enough already. It helps absolutely nothing.

God has a plan for each person’s life. All of our actions, including mistakes, are part of His plan. We have free will, and that messes us up. We drift off course and need a nudge back. God didn’t cause our mistakes, so He took that into account in His plan. Just as the Old Testament law showed people, they could not keep the law, free will, shows us we can’t do anything worthwhile without God.

When we judge, condemn, or criticize, we are not doing it to the person, we are actually telling God we have a better plan than He does. The creator is wiser than the Created. Did you ever look at it that way? The correct answer is let go, and let God do His will.

Matthew 7:1-2, Judge not that you should not be judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you and Praise you for what you did on the cross for me. By your stripes I was healed, and by shedding your blood you washed away all my sins. Your death and resurrection made it possible for me to have salvation. I confess all of my sins and I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. Thank you, My Lord Jesus Christ.

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Mentoring

Proverbs 27:17, as iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Many times, I have talked about helping other people. There are so many ways to make a difference in someone’s life. One of the ways is something that not too many people think of, and that is mentoring. There is practically no way to get through life without running across examples of someone doing it, receiving it, or ignoring this great opportunity.

Everyone has a first job, unless you were born rich. When you start a job, chances are there will be many things you will need to learn. Usually, the same holds true if you change jobs, or get promoted. At this point, you can ask an older employee to help you to learn. A lot of people are more than happy to help someone, but unfortunately there are some people who won’t.

2 Timothy 2:2, And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

There are many reasons that some people do not help. Among them a lot of people don’t feel they know how to teach, or maybe they don’t know enough to teach, or they don’t want to seem like a know-it-all. Then there are times you run into an answer like, I had to learn the hard way, do you think you’re special? In a more skilled position, some people think it is job security to keep information to themselves. I’m sure there are tons of reasons, so at some point even the absurd makes sense to some people.

If you get the opportunity to teach someone, either because they asked, or you approach them, always do your best. Mentoring does cover a lot of ground. The right attitude can encourage someone, possibly for the rest of their lives. Teach them everything you know. If they have trouble understanding, find another way to explain it. Have patience and understanding because maybe they don’t learn as fast as you do. Make yourself available for questions or problems.

There are some benefits to you also. For one thing you have the knowledge that you are making a difference in someone’s life, even if it is just a small amount. Possibly it could lead to a better position for you in the future, because someone you trained can take your place, so that you can move up into someone else’s place. Just remember that at one time you were in their spot and how much you appreciated someone mentoring you. There’s no better way to show a real Christian attitude than to do what you can to help your fellow man. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Proverbs 13:20, He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Remember Jesus loves you.

God's Promises Sunday

Choose To Believe

Matthew 21:22, and whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

Many people say they would like to believe, but they just can’t. They love to nitpick the Bible as though they were an attorney pleading a case. The sad part is that they usually don’t know anything about what they can’t believe in. People take a few words here and there and conjure up their own story to match what is convenient to them. If they took the time to read the verse in front of, or in back of the words they just picked out, they might just discover the real story.

The solution to the whole problem is simple if you give it a chance. Start out with the thought that eternity is forever. If you don’t think that you have at least 20 minutes a day for the Lord, the devil will make sure you don’t. So, you have to deal with that and that means you have to think to do it.

Mark 9:23, Jesus said to him, if you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.

Okay so now let’s look at an easy way to do some of this. You can get an MP3 player that is preloaded with the entire Bible. Listen in your car or as you relax. Listen to the bible and read the words at the same time. If you prefer, get a good study Bible and do it that way. A study Bible has verses on the upper part of each page, and an explanation of the verses on the bottom of the page. This will really help you understand the Bible. Take your time you are not in a race.

If you don’t understand something, read it again. If something doesn’t make sense, do what I do. I know the words in the Bible are the word of God, not by my intellect but by my spirit. Therefore, I choose to believe what it says. If God said it and He did, I figured there was some way He said it so we can understand. Keep this in mind though when you read anything in the Bible. Don’t compare what you can do to what God can do.

If you follow this plan for a while, you’ll begin to see what I’m talking about. You begin to see how much God loves you and wants to be with you, and to have you with Him forever. In my own opinion, and this is not biblical, I heard a preacher saying the Bible was written the way it was to test our faith. Many things were written for believers to understand. When you seek the Lord with all your heart, He helps your spirit to understand. Anything else that still remains a puzzle will be answered in eternity. Remember this though, eternity is forever. Give yourself a chance by seeking the Lord and choose to believe.

Psalm 34:22, The Lord redeems the soul of his servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Dear Readers

Proverbs 3:5-6
, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your path.

Over a period of time, we like to go back and look at some of the messages from the past that may have a little something added to them, or they are just a reminder of things that were said that kind of refresh everyone’s memory including ours.

What does it take to be saved? That may sound like an interesting question to ask people who read these messages, because we assume everyone knows already.

The first thing we must realize is that the choice we make about anything should be based on fact and not emotion.

Romans 15:13, May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace and believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in Hope.

Faith is not a feeling; it is a knowing. Knowing what the word of God says, and the credibility of the one who says it. Based on that we know that we can trust that His words are good.

If we buy something, it is wise to know the facts about what we buy. For instance, who is the manufacturer, what is the warranty, and how about the reputation of that manufacturer. After all, a guarantee or warranty is only as good as the one who stands behind it.

Unless you have had an experience like Paul on the road to Damascus, you will need to learn about who the Lord Jesus Christ is. That can only be done from reading the Bible not by listening to your friends.

Instead of listening to the pros and cons of other people, check it out for yourself. Approach the subject of Salvation with an open mind. Do not decide what God can do by comparing what He does to what we can do.

Logic says that creation of everything could only come about by the actions of a Supreme Being. I came to realize that of all the things in the Bible that people scoff at and call impossible, are in fact not a problem for a Supreme Being who happens to be our Lord God Almighty.

Get to know the Lord Jesus Christ, not just that He exists, but that He is who He says He is. Once you know Him and His words and promises are true, faith will seem to come to you automatically.

The Bible is the word of God. The Lord Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life.

Psalm 28:7, The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.

Romans 8:28, And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.

God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins and come into my heart as my personal savior. Amen.

A Victim

Psalm 103:6, The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

The meaning of the word victim is a person harmed, injured, or killed because of an accident, crime, or other event or action. You can also be the victim of a hoax.

It seems to be common these days for people to claim they are a victim of sorts. But are they?

The big thing people can’t seem to accept is that you don’t have to continue to be a victim if in fact you are. Everyone has suffered Injustice at one time or another. What sets the future however is how you handle it. You have a choice to stand up or lay down.

It is a sad thing to say, but in these times of no accountability, some so-called victims prefer to remain victims because self-pity is comforting to many people, and responsibility is not.

Are you a victim because someone says you are, or is it your choice? We have never lived in a time when it seems hurt feelings run society and those who are, claim victimhood

Before you accept the role of victim, think about this. If you see someone who seems to have a lot of things, like a good job, and such, and you don’t, that does not make you a victim?

Everything has a price. What did that person do to achieve what he has? Be honest. When you see what he did, ask yourself if you’re willing to do the same? If you don’t want to put out the effort he made you have no reason to complain. Self-pity is not the answer.

We have all been through it. Things don’t go your way, do something different. The fact is as long as you do your best, you are not a victim. If you decide to do nothing, you are a victim caused by you!

I am not talking about actual victims of crime or accidents, things like that. I’m talking about the name that society uses to escape accountability, or responsibility in many cases. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord

God's Promises Sunday

A Baby Is Innocent

Psalm 139:13-16, For you formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works and that my soul knows very well. my frame was not hidden from you, When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the Earth. You saw my substance, being yet unformed and in your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Every baby is conceived to play a part in Almighty God’s plan. Who a baby’s parents are is not the luck of the draw but is God’s plan that determines everything.

In these times, many people are so absorbed in their daily life, the child is in some sense ignored or considered a burden. The problem is, that is a time when a child is the most vulnerable.

One of the greatest problems facing the world is crime. Random acts of violence occur on a minute-by-minute basis every single day. Is there an answer to the fact that violent crime is growing with young people? Many people throw up their hands and accept these crimes because they don’t know what is causing it.

Some important facts that most people do not realize. When a child is born, they do not hate anyone. They are not intolerant, or even thinking about crime. They don’t know what crime is. They start out totally innocent.

Since these facts are true, how come we are so messed up? The simple answer is, they are taught and trained to be what they grow up to be.

Matthew 18:6, But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depths of the sea.

Just as it is not difficult for a child to learn the language of where he was born, they learn everything from their parents. They learn primarily by example, at home, in school and friends. They adapt to their surroundings, and that can be good, or it can be extremely bad.

I’ve been told that the only place the idea of training a child in God’s way would be in Heaven, not on this earth. Maybe they’re right but consider the facts. Almighty God says children are a blessing. God expects parents to guide their children according to His plan. You are responsible for the direction your child goes. There’s no blame to pass around. It starts with you as a parent. Every child that is brought up according to God’s will, will not turn out to be a criminal.

Proverbs 22:6, train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.

1 Proverbs 20:1, even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.

Proverbs 29:15, the rod and reproof give wisdom, but a Child Left to himself brings shame to his mother.

I think you realize by now this is not just my opinion it is from the word of God. God Bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.
