Many people wonder if they are saved or not. Most people call themselves Christians, but are they?
When we accept Jesus as our Savior, and repent of our sins, we receive salvation as a gift from God, along with the Holy Spirit. From the Holy Spirit, we receive what is called the fruits of the spirit.
As it is written in Galatians 5:22-25, but the fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law and those who are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit.
These fruits of the spirit change how we act, usually without us even noticing. We follow the spirit in our daily walk, not because we make a super effort, but because we want to. When we are living with the fruits of the spirit, we know we are saved.
On the other hand, if we claim to be a Christian, and we continue in our old sinful ways, it is time to rethink where we stand. Galatians 5:16, makes it pretty clear. I say then: walk in the spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
It is written, Galatians 5:19-21, now the works of the flesh are evident which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, bad intentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, deceptions, heresies, murders, drunkenness, rivalries, and the like; of which I tell you before hand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
So you see, it is pretty easy to figure out where you stand. Be honest with yourself, seek the Lord and repent. It is never too late. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!
Remember Jesus loves you
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You Lord
Amen
