Psalm 127: 1, unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city the watchman stays awake in vain.
As you probably figured out from this, in order to be blessed in our labors, we need the guidance of the Lord. You may be wondering how you get that guidance. Let's take a brief look at a good way to do it.
Proverbs 3: 5-6, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.
Proverbs 16: 3, commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.
Proverbs 19: 21 there are many plans in a man's heart, nevertheless the Lord's counsel that will stand.
As you can see this is just a few of the reminders that we need to go to God with everything that we do. Most Christians at one time or another, stress over what God's will is and how to follow it.
Well, this is a good idea, but it can cause a lot of grief for you. I learned many years ago that if I take time and try to figure out the best way to do something, I'm just wasting my time. Sometimes though we get an idea we think is from God and we jump into it. We are thinking at the time that we are stepping out in faith. Maybe it was from God, but the timing was wrong, so we fail. How do you really know what and when?
This is not a time to feel hopeless my friends. The whole thing is, before you start any project, or do anything, or go anywhere, tell God that you are ready and willing to follow His lead and thank Him for using you. Keep thanking Him every day and listen for His voice. When the time comes, the doors will open. If you have peace in your heart, go through those doors trusting in Him. If it is from God, you'll be successful doing His will. If He wants you to stop at a certain point, the door will close, but you'll be where God wants you to be.
The important thing in following the will of God to wherever it leads you, keep yourself out of it as much as possible. Being human you might be tempted to stray from the course, or continue when you should stop, or you get started too early in the 1st place, but the best advice you can get is don't do it. Put it all in the Lord's hands, and you'll have peace in your heart, and success beyond your imagination. God Bless you and your family.
Praise The Lord!
