As we begin a new year, and a chance to do better, we should consider briefly what occurred last year. Were we happy with the way things went? Did we make mostly right decisions, or were we guided by what the world calls smart? How did that turn out?
In order to make sense out of it all, we need to look at the role Jesus did or did not play last year in our lives. It is pretty simple. If we allow Jesus to show us the way, we were probably pretty happy. On the other hand, if we did it our way, we probably need to reconsider how we will handle the new year.
In order to follow someone, the prudent thing is to know them and what they are capable of. Are you putting your trust for advice in order to make decisions in someone who is reliable and able, or just anybody? Do you know Jesus, or have you dismissed Him as irrelevant in your life. Do you believe He was just a prophet, or was He in fact the son of God. Do you know whether or not He proved everything He claimed.?
Everyone is called to redemption by God. Sad part is, only a relatively small percentage of people accept the gift of salvation. Those that do are guided through life according to God's great plan for them. Those who do not answer the call, are allowed to do whatever they feel is best for them. Many people hate Jesus and those who follow Him, because they refuse to repent and change their hearts from any evil that they are doing. They do not realize that their rejection of Jesus actually condemns them.
This week we will look at God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and an example of how they have operated in people's lives. The last subject will probably be an eye-opener, as most people don't realize the role the Holy Spirit plays in our everyday lives.
The whole idea is, you should know what you are accepting or rejecting. Just a slight reminder. It doesn't matter how good, or how bad you are, even if you hate Jesus, God loves you so much, He will forgive you if you ask Him for forgiveness and confess Jesus as your Savior. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!
Remember Jesus Loves You
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You Lord
Amen
