Sin

It Is Written, 1 John 3:8, he who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Sin is in many ways, a very controversial subject. Sin in today's world means different things to different people.
Society for the most part, in this politically correct world, view everything as OK. It seems that no form of self-indulgence is taboo. Many of these people do not recognize the existence of hell, so they go about doing what ever makes them feel good, even if it is outrageous and hurts other people.
You even have differences in opinions from so-called believers. Some believe that you can work off your sins, and get to Heaven by your good works. Others believe that you are saved by grace, through what Jesus did on the cross.
The correct answer is, what does God say? When you read the Bible, which is the Word of God, you'll find that His idea of sin, seems impossible to live up to. As a matter of fact, by ourselves it is impossible.
Jesus says you have committed sins like adultery and many others, even if it is only in your heart. In God's opinion, and it is his opinion that counts, you are just as guilty as if you did it in the flesh.
Of course God knew all of this, so he sent His only Son to forgive all of our sins, past, present, and future. All we had to do for salvation, is ask forgiveness, repent, and accept Jesus as our one and only Savior. So there you have it. Sin is what God says it is, and Jesus did for us what we could not do for ourselves, that is forgiveness of sins. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

By His Grace

It Is Written, Romans 6:14, for sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
The phrase "by the grace of God" puzzles many people. The easiest way to describe it, is the Bible definition. It is the gift from God, not earned by us.
As you read the Word, you find that this gift is given during the acceptance of Jesus as Savior. It is undeserved, and cannot be attained by works. Another thing many people don't recognize as being grace, is, all the blessings that goes with it.
The most important thing, is with salvation you become a child of God. Eternal life with God is another. We don't realize how much it really means, because we receive it all by faith, and we don't realize how long forever is.
We also have direct access to our Father in Heaven, Jesus the son, and the Holy Spirit. To start listing all of the benefits would take a very long time. You will however find them all in the Bible.
All blessings we receive, even the ones we take for granted, like our five senses, are a gift from God. Everything we think say and do is because of His unmerited grace and favor toward us. If you look in your concordance at the back of your Bible under grace, you will find many verses that explaine exactly what grace is. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Undeniable Proof

The prophecies of Isaiah 53:1-12, make for very interesting reading, and should be a part of every Christian's life. It is very important for people to meditate on this chapter and these verses for a number of reasons.
Hundreds of years before Jesus, Isaiah wrote of what Jesus would go through to bring us salvation. I have read this chapter many times and it never failed to grab my heart. I always marvel that Jesus sacrificed for me and everyone else including you my friend. It seems that Isaiah's words inspired deep repentance in many people.
The Bible speaks of many prophecies, some applying to Jesus Himself. We also hear about God's promises, and the fact that He cannot lie. Many of us read and believe the Bible. We read the Word of God, and sometimes fail to recognize the deep truths of it. You might say we have head knowledge instead of heart knowledge.
Praise the Lord for the Holy Spirit, and His works in our lives. The other day I watched a movie called Jesus of Nazareth. During the end of the crucifixion scene, the narrator recited several verses from Isaiah 53.
It struck me how accurate Isaiah was when he said by Jesus stripes we are healed. I finally got heart knowledge of the truths in the Bible. Fact of the matter is every prophecy that was ever given by God to a prophet, has been fulfilled exactly as it was given. There is not one prophecy that was not fulfilled exactly. When you look at it it just goes to prove that God's Words are true, so everything the Bible says, must also be true. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Don't Blame God

It Is Written, Romans 3:10-18, there is none righteous, no not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; in the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.
When you read these verses, it should become absolutely clear that if blame is to be placed on  anyone, it should be placed on each of us. Which one of us can say these verses don't describe us to some extent.
All of us have used our free will to disobey God. Since our society has been turning to political correctness we have taken God out of everything. We have taken God out of our daily life, our country, our schools, everything there is. It has gotten to the point where I need not tell you that our courts and government have done so many outrageous things against the Word of God, that only God's love keeps us from being destroyed.
It comes right down to this my friends. How can any of us blame God when we reject Him and accept what satan does. God does not cause all the problems in this world, satan does. So let's look at it the way it is. God allows us to use our free will, and it is up to us to use it properly. We must all make a choice about who we follow, God, or satan. If we choose to reject God, then we have absolutely no right to blame Him for anything. We must look to ourselves. So before any of us can say why did God allow that, or why did God do that, we must search our conscience first, and realize we have sinned. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

A New Thought

It Is Written, James 4:12, there is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?
If you have been a church member for any length of time, or have a Christian friend, you probably know that God tells us not to judge others. Have you ever thought about the reasons that God has for hating judging, and why it is a sin in God's eyes? Offhand, I can think of at least two possibilities.
First of all, God created everything that exists. Man is without a doubt God's greatest creation. God gave man dominion over the earth, including every living thing. God also gave each person a responsibility in life.
When we judge someone else, we are basically saying that God messed up in some way, because we feel that others are flawed in some way. We act like we know better than God. Remember each person has to answer to God for what they do, or don't do. He does not need our opinion or help.
When we judge someone, we are saying that we are better than them. When that happens, we commit one of the most common, and deadliest sins. Pride is the biggest cause of destruction of men's souls. God hates pride so much, because He loves us. If we don't repent, God might lose one of His children. Be aware, just let God take care of it. I found out that if we want to judge someone, we should judge ourselves. God bless you and your family. Praise Lord!

God's Law Stands

It Is Written, Romans 6:23, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God's law is written down in a book, called the Bible. It was given by God to the Holy Spirit, who in turn inspired the people who wrote it.
God's laws were written as instructions to His children, so that they could join Him in eternity when their time on earth was finished. They are never changing instructions. They are the same for all generations, and not subject to change.
Look at it this way. Thousands of years ago, liquid water was wet. It is wet today, and will be wet as long as the earth exists.
Many people in our world today, are trying to rewrite God's law, by out and out going against it. They put their own interpretation on everything and presume to know what God was thinking when He wrote them.. They think the Bible should conform to them, instead of them conforming to the Bible. The Bible tells us in countless verses what happens to those who refuse or distort God's law.
No matter what excuse people have for abortion, homosexuality, thinking Jesus is not the only way to be saved, and countless other changes and distortions they think of, it  will never change God's laws. Some people even think that if they get God out of their lives, they will have no responsibility concerning what God says. God says what He means, and means what He says. Read and follow only God's Word, not someone else's. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!
