This verse is interpreted by most preachers as what is referred to as the rapture. Some people argue that the word rapture is not in the Bible, and they are correct. The word rapture is real however.
In old English literature, and even a few Dickens novels, it is the word for "carried away". The New Testament was written in Greek. The Greek word for "taking away" was harpazo. The translators later came up with the English word rapture.
Christians all over the world are waiting for the rapture. They believe they will be taken up by God in an instant. The problem is, no one knows when. Each generation, especially the current one, has belief it was their generation.
Not changing the subject, the fact of the matter is, every generation gets to see God in their lifetime. It may not be the rapture we expect, but at the end of our lives, we go straight to God anyway. As you and I get older, we get closer to the time when we will see God in person. So each person gets carried away, anyway. Our spirit has its own private rapture. God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!
Remember Jesus Loves You
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus I thank you for what you did on the cross for me. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You Lord
Amen
