According to Strong's dictionary of Bible words, grieve means, to torment, to worry, to be sad, and to distress. I doubt that there are very many Christians who would grieve God on purpose, but we all grieve Him without realizing it. The main way we grieve God is through sin, and not trusting in Him.
The first thing we must understand, in order to have fewer incidents of grieving God, is who God is, and what He says. When God says no, it is no, but when we say no, it usually means what we want it to.
When God says we are His children, He means just that. God loves us and has a plan for us that is perfect. He wants us to trust Him, to take care of us in all things. When we try to do things on our own, He is disappointed, because it shows lack of trust. He sees what will happen, and it makes Him sad.
When we focus our thoughts on some problem or other, that takes our focus off of Him, thereby replacing Him with the problem. We have a free will, given to us by God, and He honors that.
If we want to please God, and get maximum benefits for us, we need to give all of our problems to Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says, casting all your cares on Him, because He cares for you. Get to really know God through His Word, and you will see how much He loves you.
When we know how much God really loves us, it is a lot easier to avoid sin and keep from grieveing Him. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!
Remember Jesus Loves You
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You Lord
Amen
