My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Modern Good Samaritan

Luke 10:30-35, Jesus answered and said “a certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise, a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan as he journeyed came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So, he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and he set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And the next day when he departed, he took out two Denari and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, take care of him and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you. So, which of these three do you think was a neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?

Most of us have heard the story of the Good Samaritan. We probably wondered why he did it, and maybe wondered what we would have done.

If you look closer, you will realize that the people, a priest and a Levite, both religious people, passed the half dead man. The Samaritan helped the person that probably hated him because he was a Samaritan. Jews and people from Samaria had a very strong dislike of each other.

We can think of ourselves as helping the injured man because we are Christians. Really? It is easy to get a pretty good idea of what we really would do.

The world is full of hurting people. Everyone is hurting in some way, even you. Ask yourself these simple questions.

Would I help someone who is not like me? Does color, race, religion, sex, matter? Would I just give money, and my time and effort.

Are we, you and I, helping, or just talking? The parable of the Good Samaritan was taught by the Lord Jesus Christ, to open the hearts and minds of people of all generations. Hurting, isn’t just physical. A kind word or action that helps people, who are depressed, lonely, feeling like a failure, goes a long way.

Yes, prayer is always the answer. Have you ever thought you are the answer to someone’s prayer? God chose you, so you are blessed, and you are part of God’s blessing to someone else. As the saying goes, it doesn’t get better than that. But that does not happen just sitting around thinking about it. You must show by example how much you love God. If you reflect Jesus’ light to others, some will in turn do the same, and so on. God bless you and your family.  Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you died on the cross and rose again to save me and to forgive all of my sins. I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. I Repent of those sins, and I thank you and praise you for what you did to make my salvation possible. Amen.

God's Promises Sunday

The Big Plan

Genesis 1:27-28, So God created man in His own image, and the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them be fruitful and multiply; fill the Earth and subdue it, have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the Earth.

When you read the creation story, verses 27 and 28 tell you about God’s plan. In the Garden of Eden, when God spoke to Adam, He also assigned some tasks to Adam.

When God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply, I am sure God didn’t mean just them, and only for a short while. When God gave them dominion over every living thing, once again I believe it wasn’t just for a short while.

I believe that our Lord God Almighty, creator of all things, had a plan for thousands of years to come. I believe God’s original plan was for man to expand the garden to cover the entire Earth.

If Adam and Eve didn’t sin, and continued with God Almighty the way it was before the sin, it would have happened.

When God gives someone a task, no matter how impossible it may seem, He will give personal directions, and all the tools necessary to accomplish the task.

After Adam and Eve sinned and had to leave the garden, mankind and the whole world, started satan’s plan for evil and destruction, and damnation for all eternity.

Then Came the flood. It was really a do-over. A chance to get it right, starting with one righteous man and his family. You know how the story goes; evil started all over again when man began to repopulate the world This went on for a couple of thousand years. The Lord God Almighty at that point sent His only Son to pay for the sins of man by dying on the cross and rising from the dead. The Lord Jesus Christ did this despite His rejection by man. That was the only way man sins could be paid for, because man could not do anything to rescue himself. Sins are spiritual, and man is not.

Matthew 28: 18-20 and Jesus came and spoke to them saying, all authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on Earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and low I am with you always even to the end of the age. Amen.

The Lord Jesus Christ told the apostles what they were to do. So, it started with them and each generation would add to it. Over the years there has been less and less acceptance of Jesus words, and evil is flourishing. It seems the character of man has not changed despite the Lord God Almighty sacrificing everything to help him.

These thoughts are mine the way I see it. I believe there is still hope if we sincerely repent.

2 Chronicles 7: 14, If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.

God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you died on the cross and rose again to save me and to forgive all my sins. I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. I Repent of those sins, and I thank you and praise you for what you did to make my salvation possible. Amen.

Apostasy

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teaching of demons.

The meaning of apostasy is, totally abandoning or rejecting one’s religion, faith, or loyalty. In these times, the word apostasy is heard quite a bit among believers. Many people, however, do not understand or believe what it involves and what it really means.

Galatians 1: 8-9, But even if we or an angel from Heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one, we preach to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: if anyone is preaching a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be a accursed.

Matthew 24: 12, and because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.

Apostasy is one of the signs of the end times. People that are truly saved really have nothing to worry about, but they should be aware of it because it is an important lesson from the Bible.

Hebrews 3: 12, take care Brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the Living God.

2 Peter 3:17, you therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of Lawless people and lose your own stability.

2 Timothy 3:1-9, But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, Unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

With apostasy starting to show up more every day, we thought that sharing God’s word as it is written will give many people the courage to abide in the Lord God and to put total control of their lives in His hands.

After you read these verses, if you have any doubt in your mind whether apostasy is beginning in your heart, go to the Lord and talk to Him and ask Him to create in you a clean heart, and to open your mind and heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no need to fear anything about the end times if you are a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

The Prayer of Salvation.

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Seeds And Weeds

Matthew 13:24-30, Another Parable He put before them saying, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. While men slept his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. When the grains had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So, the Servants of the owner came and said to him, sir did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares? He said to them, an enemy has done this. The servant said to him, do you want us then to go and gather them up? But he said no lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, first gather the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them but gather the wheat into my barn.

When the Lord Jesus Christ was teaching the parable of the wheat and tares, He was teaching something that can easily explain people and their behavior.

Consider this. Babies are born in very large numbers every day. The rest of the population consists of people of all ages. We do not know what babies will be like when they grow up, but we do know what adults are like because of their behavior.

Just as seeds require certain conditions to fulfill expectations, people do too. We cannot look at a seed or a person and make a judgment on how they turn out.

As with anything, some thrive in harsh conditions, but most do not. People are the same way.

Anything is possible. The Lord God Almighty tells us not to judge people because only He really knows each of us. We should never think that this person is saved or that one isn’t. If we can then condemn certain people, it would be like pulling up wheat and weeds together before their time

If we meditate on Proverbs, we will get a good start on our own way to Salvation. Jesus Christ didn’t teach for fun, He taught them to give us examples in terms we could understand.

God bless you and your family.

God's Promises Sunday

Only God

John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

The Lord God Almighty cleansed the world of evil by sending a flood to destroy it. Noah and his family were spared because Noah walked with God.

When the flood was over and man began repopulating the Earth it didn’t take very long for evil to get started again, because satan was alive and well.

As time went on things got worse and worse. At that point God sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to save man, rather than destroy mankind again. It must have broken the heart of Almighty God to see His children sin every way it was possible.

I can’t compare whether it was more evil then or now. Sin is sin in God’s eyes, so I guess it didn’t matter. We know a very small amount of what the Lord Jesus Christ went through. We can’t possibly realize the spiritual and physical pain, as well as the hate He had to deal with.

We cannot imagine the pain our Father God Almighty felt seeing His only Son treated the way He was. The Love the Lord God Almighty has for us is unimaginable, and that is why we weren’t destroyed permanently.

The difference now is there are many people who love and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is the word of God, and shows us who He is, and how loving and forgiving He is. It also shows us that His words are true no matter what.

If you read about Noah, you see that God saved him and his family because he walked with God. Lot and his family were saved because of God’s promise to Abraham. Just two examples of real love, and the fact that God has a way of taking care of his people.

The world we live in is evil and corrupt beyond understanding. If we pray sincerely and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save us and lead us in everything we do, He will make sure that we are okay. God bless you and your family.

Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Knowing Almighty God

Hosea 6:3, Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord, His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth.

Many people read the Bible the same way they read a novel. When you read the Bible, it is as exciting as you make it. That cannot be said for a novel.

You may be asking yourself, how can I make it exciting when I have trouble understanding it? The answer is simple, and it does work.

Start out with the Book of Matthew. Read one chapter slowly with your full attention. When you finish, read it again, and pay special attention to the words of Jesus. They are usually in red. highlight the verses that speak to you.

Finish your reading for the day, pick out one of the verses you highlighted, and meditate on it as much as possible until you memorize it and totally understand what it’s trying to tell you. Then the next time pick another verse and do the same thing.

After you have memorized these verses, read the gospel again, meditate on putting it all together and see how it applies to your life.

Go through the whole New Testament one chapter at a time, and you will get a real clear picture of who the Lord Jesus Christ is, and how the Bible teaches us about life.

There is no rush, but it must be consistent. Your faith will grow, your prayers will be more powerful, and you will realize how knowing God will get you through your life on this Earth.

What I always do before I read the Bible, I ask the Holy Spirit to help me know and understand what I read, and to make things pop out at me.

Psalm 9: 10, and those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

Psalm 119: 10, with my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you died on the cross and rose again to save me and to forgive all of my sins. I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. I Repent of those sins, and I thank you and Praise you for what you did to make my salvation possible. Amen.

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

Joseph 1

Fast forward two years. Pharaoh was having nightmares, and no one could interpret them. It is then that the cupbearer who was one of the slaves that Joseph took care of in prison, remembered Joseph, and he told Pharaoh about Joseph. Joseph was then called before the pharaoh to interpret the dreams.

After Pharaoh listened to the interpretation of the dreams, he decided that there was only one person that could fulfill what he was just told. That person was Joseph.

At that point Joseph was declared the ruler of the entire country of Egypt. The only one that would be higher than him in all the land was Pharaoh himself.  Joseph took control of everything, and everything prospered under his watch, just as the dream foretold. They saved 20% of the grain every year just as the dream foretold for seven years.

After the seven years of plenty in Egypt, a great famine came to the whole land and all the surrounding countries. Since Egypt was storing plenty of grain everyone came there to buy food from Joseph.

After a while Joseph’s brothers came to buy food. He recognized them but they didn’t recognize him. He told them that if they wanted to buy more grain, they had to bring their young brother back with them to prove they were not spies. Well, they did come back a second time and he made himself known to them. Obviously, they were repentant because he treated them so well For what they had done to him.

Joseph told his brothers that when they get back to their homeland to tell their father that he is alive and that he should bring his entire household to live in Egypt and that he would give them the best land.

See the chain of events. If his brothers did not sell Joseph to slave traders, there would be no story. If Joseph hadn’t been bought by Potiphar, no story. If Joseph didn’t go to prison, no story. If Joseph didn’t interpret the dreams of pharaoh, no story.

Joseph’s family moved to Egypt, they and their descendants lived there 400 years and we know about the slavery that they went through. If all of that didn’t happen there would be no Exodus and no Moses. The promised land was not conquered according to God’s plan. That fact changed most of history even till today. As you can see, all through history every step was orchestrated by God for the final result.

Nothing happens by chance. God is never surprised because He plans everything, and everything happens His way. Think about how world history would be different if things like Joseph never happened. The Bible is full of true stories that make up history. God bless you and your family.

Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

Lord Jesus Christ, I know you suffered and died on the cross and rose again to wash away my sins and make it possible for me to have eternal life. I Repent of my sins, and I ask you to come into my heart as my personal savior. I want to do your will. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Praise The Lord!
