The Mind Is The Key

Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth.

Many people take strong objection to the story of creation. They believe the universe and everything in it just happened because it wanted to, or some accident caused it.

If you look at the world you live in, do you think it makes sense that all of the trillions of trillions of cells that are in everything, and each with its own function, came about by chance?

When people judge God by what He can or cannot do they always compare us to God. If we can’t do something, then we assume that God can’t either. Our mind tells us that.

Romans 8:6-7,  to set the mind on the flesh is death but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed cannot.

2 Timothy 3:16-17, All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

When anyone decides with a closed or emotional mind it is almost always wrong, and disastrous consequences follow. If we continue in that way, we will lose more than we think.

2 Corinthians 4:4, In their case the God of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18, For the word of the Cross is folly to those who are perishing but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

So, what is the answer? Come to the Lord Jesus Christ. Think of this example. An architect designs a house or building. He then gets laborers to build according to his plan. If the laborers faithfully stick to the plan the designer’s plan comes to life and people recognize the designer as being very good at what he does, and everyone wants to hire him.

Our problem is our minds. As to the example above, if the laborers didn’t follow the plans, disaster would follow.

Our designer is the Lord God Almighty. His plan is the Bible, and we are the laborers. We must follow the plans, making decisions based on what the plan says.

Our Spirits must control our minds. Our Spirits receive messages from the Holy Spirit all the time. Not sure? Ask the Holy Spirit in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Almighty God wrote the plans and gave us tools to work on our Heavenly home that the Lord Jesus Christ promised us. Never forget that your mind makes choices, let those choices be controlled by our Lord Jesus Christ. He will put in your heart what you should do. You must make up your mind to do it regardless of what you personally think. God bless you and your family.

Almighty God’s Amazing Love

John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

This verse is probably the most well-known by people all over the world. I hate to admit it, but I never gave it any thought. I considered it just like the written prayers we said in school, just words.

I believed God and Jesus existed, but I didn’t know them for 65 years of my life. I heard the verses that mentioned how our creator knew each of us before creation and had a plan for each of us. I guess I wasn’t impressed by that either.

My life was lived like everybody else. I had no goal or direction for my life. I made quite a few bad decisions and dealt with the consequences.

I won’t bore you with details, but I will give you a snapshot. I’ve had a lifetime of health issues, several of them life or death surgeries. My life was saved from instant death six times. None of this is an exaggeration.

Romans 5:8, God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

I am, in my opinion, a classic example of what this verse is talking about. When I finally came to know the Lord Jesus Christ my eyes and heart were finally opened. When I repented, I was as sincere as I could be.

Well, I found out that the Holy Spirit, besides being a helper, was also an expert at stirring up the conscience and showing the truth without condemnation.

As I looked at the things I did, I started to see how almighty God steered me to good decisions and allowed things to keep me from devastating decisions.

It is by the grace of God I was saved and came to the Lord Jesus Christ. I could see how the Lord guided me to find Jesus. As I realized what the Lord was doing, I was amazed that He loved me so much even though I never gave Him a thought. Again, the Bible was true.

Now I no longer doubt anything. I just sit back and wait to see how the next step will unfold because I know that He loves me. The plain fact of the matter is He loves you too.

I cannot tell you how much it frustrates me that I cannot talk about the love God has for me and you because I don’t know the words. I don’t believe any human could come up with words that would be a tiny bit of what God deserves. Take my word for it, just trust and you will be rewarded. God bless you and your family.

God's Promises Sunday

The Unforgiving Servant

Matthew 18:23-35, Jesus said,  24)the Kingdom of Heaven may be compared to a King who wished to settle accounts with his servants 24) when he began to settle one was brought to him who owed him 10,000 talents. 25) And since he could not pay his master ordered him to be sold with his wife and children and all that he had and payments to be made. 26) So, the servant fell on his knees imploring him; have patience with me and I will pay you everything. 27) and out of pity for him the master of the servant released him and forgave him the debt. 28) But when the same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred Denari and seeing him began to choke him saying pay what you owe. 29) So, his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him to have patience with me and I will pay you. 30) He refused and went and put him in prison until he paid the debt. 31) When his fellow servants saw what had taken place they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. 32) Then his master summoned him and said to him you wicked servant. I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33) And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant as I had mercy on you? 34) And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers until he should pay all his debt. 35) So also, my Heavenly Father will do to every one of you if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.

The Lord Jesus Christ gave his life in the most horrible way there is. He was scourged which we cannot imagine. His flesh was ripped from his body exposing bones. Isaiah 52: 14 describes the whole process and which Isaiah said was so bad you could not even realize that he was human.

Then He was crucified with all the terrible pain, humiliation, and shame. Three days later, however He was raised from the dead.

The Lord Jesus Christ knew what would happen to him, but He gave Himself willingly for our sin debt past, present, and future, to be paid in full for us. If the Lord Jesus Christ didn’t do what He did no one would be saved, and hell would be the future for every single person. There is no possible way for us to pay for our own sins.

It seems that it would be a good idea for each of us when we feel wronged to compare the offenses, we were guilty of and forgiven. Considering what the Lord Jesus did for us shouldn’t we look at an offense toward us, and how trivial it is in comparison? 

Every day we do not forgive we are hurting almighty God and prolonging our pain. Forgive and please Almighty God, and bring peace and contentment to your heart knowing that you are following your Heavenly Father’s plan. God bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Luke 6:37, Judge not and you will not be judged, condemn not and you will not be condemned; forgive and you will be forgiven.

Can You Lose Salvation

John 10:27-28, My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand.

There are many people who claim to be Christians. For some reason these same people wonder if they are saved and if they can lose salvation. The best place to find the answer is the word of God the Bible.

First, we look at how you know you are saved. The Bible is the Word of God. Since almighty God cannot, and does not lie, His words must be true.

Romans 10: 9, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved.

Now we have something to compare ourselves to. Do we meet the requirements of this verse. If we pray for an answer and look at ourselves honestly, we will know the answer.

John 6: 47, truly, truly I say to you whoever believes has eternal life.

At this point let us say you know for sure that you are saved. Now the question of losing salvation. Again, we must look at the Word of God.

Romans 8:38-39, for I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, or anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our lord.

1 John 5:13, I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.

There is no doubt that the Lord Jesus death on the cross and His resurrection paid for our sins past, present, and future. We received the benefits of the Lord Jesus Christ sacrifice of Himself by grace, a gift from Almighty God.

Ephesians 2: 8-9, for by Grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. Not a result of works so that no one may boast.

For a Believer to think any other way to get to Heaven or to be forgiven is to deny the Lord Jesus Christ and the cross. One final word.

Hebrews 13:5, Keep your life free from the Love of money and be content with what you have for He said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.

No Perfect Life

Genesis 3:17-19, And to Adam He said because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, you shall not eat of it, cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life, thorns and thistles that shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field, by the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, into dust you shall return.

The Lord God Almighty said these chilling words to Adam at the fall of Man. Since then, man has tried all kinds of ways to change that prophecy and failed every time.

The biggest cause of man’s dilemma today is looking back at life and thinking what if. Solomon was the wealthiest person who ever lived. He was also the wisest, had a thousand wives and concubines, ruled the most powerful Nation at the time, and had everything his heart desired. He couldn’t go back and change anything.

Ecclesiastes 9: 11, again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.

Solomon wrote the story of his life in Ecclesiastes as he grew old. All he saw was the futility of his past life. Think about this, if this happened to someone picked by God and blessed beyond measure Where do we stand?

Jeremiah 29: 11, For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

A question you hear most often from people is why did God do this to me? How can God be so mean? Where was God that he allowed this to happen?

Romans 8: 28 and we know that for those who love God all things work together for good for those who are called according to His purpose.

Philippians 4:19, and my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

To clear up any misconceptions about almighty God and what He does, let’s look at the basic truths

God blesses us when we depend on Him for everything that is following His plan for us. We are blessed beyond what we could even hope. On the other hand, when we follow our plans, we will mess up. No doubt about that. We are forgiven if we repent, however the consequences of our actions in this world must play out. Have you ever thought about the fact that whatever happens in this world is a result of someone’s actions and therefore the consequences cannot be avoided?

As far as where was God, the answer is simple. We as a part of society, have taken God out of everything. So, if God is not welcome in our lives and is not present, how can He be responsible for what we don’t like? We can’t have it both ways.

Exodus 20: 3, You shall have no other God before me.

Another way many of us go wrong without even realizing it, in some cases we have things in our life that are more important to us than God. Whatever is number one in our heart, no matter how innocent it may seem, becomes our God. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. Therefore, He should be number one in our lives. 

The whole story cannot be told in this short message, so I suggest as I usually do the reading of the Bible and meditating on it. It answers all questions. It guides us in how we should live in order to have a fulfilling peaceful life and a fantastic eternity. God bless you and your family.

Improve Married Relationships

Genesis 1:27-28, So God created man in His own image in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. And God blessed them and said to them be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea over the birds of the Heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

Psalm 127:3, Behold children are a Heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

And so, we see God’s plan for Humanity. For God’s plan to succeed, male and female must have a close relationship. This was a long-time relationship from the start.

About 2,000 years ago God gave everyone instructions on how a husband and wife should treat each other. Paul outlined it in his first letter to the Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7, love is patient and kind, love does not envy or boast, it is not arrogant or rude, it does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, love never ends.

In these times marriages are having a hard time surviving. When you consider how society is working, paying bills, and children to raise, it isn’t hard to figure out that there must be a better way.

Ephesians 5:28, In the same way, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Ephesians 5:33, Let each one of you love his wife as himself and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

If we get to the basics, the answer shows up. It is time to take all the above verses and put them into practice.

A husband and wife must have a truthful discussion with no blame from either one and no negative talk. Start to compare yourselves to the description of what love is. Be totally honest with yourself and each other. Really work at it without bringing up past hurts.

Talk every day. Take your concerns  one at a time. Figure out together how to handle each thing by asking the Lord Jesus Christ to give you Insight. When that problem is solved do the same thing with the next one.

When you are faithful to this process your love will grow, your marriage will be strong, and you will see everything in a new light. Never let a day go by without talking to our Heavenly Father and each other. Remember total honesty spoken in a loving way can accomplish anything in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Peace And Stress Relief

1 Peter 5:7, Casting all your cares on Him because He cares for you.

In the world of today most people have anxiety issues. Antidepression drugs have skyrocketed as depression has become a normal health problem.

Believe it or not many people no longer feel as stressed out as they were. Most have peace in their hearts despite the problems worldwide. The answer is simple but hard.

People who have received salvation have a much greater chance of living without any serious level of stress in their lives and have God’s peace in their hearts.

John 14:27, peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled neither let them be afraid.

Isaiah 26:3, you keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you.

The best way to begin stress relief and peace in your heart is to find a quiet place where you can think undisturbed. If you think about all of the times, you worried about something and it turned out good, that was God.

Then think about the unexpected things that made you and your family happy. Again God.

There were times we received so many blessings we didn’t pray for or something more or better than what we prayed for. All these things were not good or bad luck they were almighty God in person.

Now think about this interesting thought. What if you decided to live the way God planned your life? All these blessings and more would be on purpose, because God put the idea for the prayer in your heart.

Sooner or later all believers come to the conclusion that they cannot control anything, only our creator can. If we are honest each of us has made a mess out of everything we planned or tried to control.

Here is a suggestion. Read all the verses in this message and meditate on them. Talk to almighty God in The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ and give Almighty God an honest chance to help you in all things.

Philippians 4:6, do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Psalm 55: 22, Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you He will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 118:5-6, Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

This is not an overnight fix my friends but something that is over time with constant use and prayer. Your faith will grow and so will the results. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. God bless you and your family.
