Worship

It Is Written, John 4:24, God is a spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
The Hebrew and Greek words for worship mean, to prostrate oneself, to adore, put religion into practice.
All worship must come from the heart.  When you trust God, you are praising Him and worshiping Him.  The same thing is true when you follow God's will, or do good to others.
Thanking and praising God with words from the spirit, bring Him closer to you, and you closer to Him.  Worship can also include private time with the Lord, studying the Bible, or even music.
It seems that most people today figure that music is worship, and that's it. At the present time I don't know of a single church that doesn't make their music seem like a concert for young people.  When you talk to the pastors, and I have, most of them tell you they are trying to attract young people.  I think that is true to a point, but the rest of it should be what they are preaching.  Church is about getting closer to God.
I know I will probably sound like an old fogey, but my own opinion is that music must touch your soul, and when it does you automatically start to worship God.  Any music that doesn't touch your soul, is just noise.  The music is supposed to help put us in touch with God through our spirit.
I was under the impression that what they call worship music is supposed to help us worship God and is not just for us.  I'm saying only this.  Music must be for everyones soul, not just for some of us.  I'm not suggesting that we have all of one and none of the other, I think a good mix would be a good way to do it, that way everybody has a chance to have the music that touches their soul.  I would be interested to see how others feel about the same thing.  Have a blessed day.  Praise the Lord!

Stick With God

It Is Written, Psalm 119:90, Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You establish the earth, and it abides.
Have you ever prayed for something, and didn't receive what you prayed for?  If you thought about how you prayed, and were convinced that your prayer was in line with the Word, how did it affect you?
Let's take a look at something that most people pray for, and that is healing.  When you read the Word,  healing seems pretty clear.  We see verses like, by His stripes you were healed.  You see how Jesus went around healing every affliction imaginable.  He gave the apostles the power to heal in His name, and it goes on and on.
Some preachers have healing services, and healing phone lines.  Every day you hear about divine healing of every type of malady you can think of, but is it real?
Healings do occur more often than we realize.  The Lord has no favorites. People are healed or not healed for God's reasons.  Some healings are instant, some take time, and some are by doctors directed by God.
It is easy for people that are desperate for healing to get jealous when they see someone else healed instantly and they are still waiting.  As hard as it is to accept sometimes, God has a plan, and He does it in His way and His time.  Don't fall into satans trap and get angry with God.  satan is trying to get you to stop praying because he knows there is power behind prayer. Know that in spite of how things may look, God still loves you and has something in your future that will be better than you expect.  Just stick with God and the payoff will come.  You have His Word.  Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

God Gave Words Power

It Is Written, Genesis chapter 1, creation.
When we read the creation account, we notice how God created everything by speaking it into existence. When He spoke something, it was.
Jumping ahead to Jesus time.  Jesus said that He does what He sees His father do, and says what His father says.  He worked all of His miracles by the words of His mouth, and the power of the Holy Spirit.  The words He spoke were always the results, not the problem.
When Jesus was going back to Heaven after the resurrection, He told the apostles that they should do what He did, and sent the Holy Spirit to make it happen.
Now think about that for a minute.  All of these creative words produce positive results.  When Jesus spoke negative words to the fig tree, it shriveled up.  So now we see from the Bible that positive words with faith produce positive results, and negative produces negative.
There are a number of books about the power of words.  They are basically all in agreement.  What most people don't realize is that words work whether you believe or not.  All of us know a person who speaks gloom and doom and is constantly depressed.  If you really look at his life, it is exactly what he speaks.
Words spoken go in to the spiritual world where they are acted on.  You don't even realize that your subconscious is making you do things, such as bad decisions, to make your situation what your words are pronouncing.  If you speak faith filled words, the situation turns out good.  There's an old saying that happens to be true.  If you want to know how your life will be five years from now, look at what you are saying today.
One more thing.  Your subconscious takes everything you say as fact.  It does not know when you are kidding around.  So you must be very careful of what you say at all times, because you could be predicting your future. Scoff if you like, but that doesn't change the facts.  Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Can I Get Faith ?

It Is Written, Romans 10:17,  so then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Ephesians 2:8, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves;  it is the gift of God.
When you are a believer, you must always remember that you became a believer by the grace of God. With that came a measure of faith.
In this case, faith refers to the ability to receive and exercise the gifts God apportions to us.  Although each man receives the seed of faith, God does not have the same tasks for everyone.
As we all know, God is in charge of everything.  He decides who will do what, and how they do it. As you can imagine, some tasks require more faith than others.
Faith is a process of listening to God, and acting on what He says.  A for instance.  If God wants you to be a preacher, He will guide you in the way to become one.  When you become one, He will anoint you, and lead you in doing His work.  Your faith would match the task.
Many people have the idea that the faith they have can be increased by their own efforts.  God speaks to everyone.  Those that listen to His voice, He uses for His work, and gives them the required faith.
God speaks to the heart, and through His Word.  It is up to us to listen and obey.  If we don't listen or obey, His voice gets quieter, until we can't hear Him at all.  When Jesus said that we must take up our cross and follow Him, He meant more than just observing,  He meant doing without complaining.
When you work for God, in whatever capacity, He will provide everything you need in order to do it. Once we realize that our faith is in proportion to how much we listen and obey God, we will find peace.  Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

How You See a Problem

It Is Written, Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
As we go through life, we encounter many things daily that we call problems.  Depending on how big or serious we make them in our minds, determines how we react.
We have what can be called or classified as minor problems.  Most of these can be taken care of with very little effort.  For instance, you have trouble finding a parking space at the mall that is close to the entrance.  Do you ride around and wait for a space to open, or do you park a little further away?
If you keep the Holy Spirit in your heart and mind, you realize that a problem for you is not a problem for Him.
I have found a really simple solution to my problems, regardless of how big I think they are.  I talk to the Holy Spirit.  I say things like, what should I do with this Holy Spirit, how should I do this, I need help with this.  He always comes through, always.  On some rare occasions, I get the answer an hour or so later.
I have found out through trial and error and many years of experience of doing it the hard way, that we by ourselves can get ourselves in a mess quite easily.  But, if you really talk to the Holy Spirit, listen for His voice, and approach whatever you want to do the way He tells you to do it, you really do avoid a lot of aggravation and trouble.  It may sound simplistic and hard to believe, but it works.
Whenever you have a problem, remember the verse, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  Have a blessed day.  Praise the Lord!

Don't Give Up On Prayer

It Is Written, James 5:15, and the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
This verse concerns the prayer of salvation.  Everyone who confesses and accepts Jesus as Savior is saved.  We are saved by faith.  We believe it because God said so.  We have no doubt.
So why is any other prayer harder to have faith for?  The big difference for many people is the nature of the prayer itself.  The prayer of salvation is one we accept on faith.  We believe it because it makes us feel peace about our eventual future.  We know the result will manifest when we die, so it is easier to believe now.  Answer to a prayer in the present, begins the process of doubt for a lot of people, because the answer is here and now, or not.
It may be hard to believe, but in the spirit world, prayers are answered immediately.  It takes continuing faith to produce results.  Faith is what brings it into the physical world.  We need to take a closer look at how we pray.  As Charles Capps said, speak the answer not the problem.
All prayer requires the same kind of faith, as in the prayer of salvation.  If you can do it for salvation, you can do it for anything.  God's Word does not change.  Realize that God does everything in His time and in His way. Know that His word says that He answers the prayers of the righteous, and you are righteous by what Jesus did.  So claim the blessings of the righteous, and believe.  Have a blessed day.  Praise Lord!

Banish Fear

It Is Written, Romans 12:2, and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Most of us go through our daily lives, so busy with things we do by necessity or choice, that we pay little or no attention to the Word of God. We put up with our daily problems, at home, at work, and in everything we do.  Add to that all of the news on TV, and in newspapers and so on.  You're told about this country hating that country, and terrorists hating everybody.  It is a wonder we don't all look under our beds before we go to sleep.
Man's greatest fear is the unknown.  What is hiding out there in the dark, or in the forest.  Our minds can create horrible things out of nothing and scare the you know what out of us.  We can worry or be afraid of something so much that we can't think, or we are like the famous deer caught in the headlights, that cannot move from fear.
The story of man and this world was written thousands of years ago. Everything that is happening was foretold from the beginning.  Instead of hiding under our beds, we can easily discover how it all turns out, and what we should do in the meantime.
The Word of God, the Bible, tells us the whole story;  study a chapter every day and renew your mind as to what God says, and you don't have to fear anything.  As I always say the Bible is the true Word of God and so far everything that It has prophesied has come true.  We are talking about hundreds and hundreds of prophecies.  So put your trust in the Lord, read the book He sent to you, and sleep in peace.  Have a blessed day.  Praise the Lord!
