Thoughts

Romans 8:5-8 tells us, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not according to the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit, set their minds on the things of the spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 

Many people are concerned about the thoughts they have, because they regard some of them as sinful. Are they? Human beings have thoughts running through their brains night and day. Most of these are random. We cannot stop them. Random thoughts are not a sin, unless we pick out a thought or two and dwell on them consciously.

The other type of thoughts, are the ones we consciously choose. Whether they are thoughts about a certain person, thing, or situation, how we think about it is either sinful or not.

Fantasies for instance are more or less creative.: Daydreams are an example. Again, these can be sinful or not. If you feel overwhelmed by thoughts of any kind, just say Jesus help me. He will. Just remember, random thoughts are not usually sins. You have control of the rest, and are responsible for the things you think. If any thoughts go against the word God has written in the Bible, be very aware of where this can lead. Always keep these verses in mind, stay close to the Lord, and you'll be okay.
