The Meaning of the Lord's Prayer

It Is Written, Matthew 6:9-14, the Our Father prayer taught to the apostles by Jesus.
The Our Father is a beautiful, powerful prayer. Like most prayers, if you don't analyze it, you run the risk of vain repetition. I, like many others, spent years praying it without a clue of what I was praying. Here is a simple breakdown of the Our Father and it's meaning.
Our Father-we speak to God our father, because Jesus said He is. We recognize His love for us and His adoption of us through Jesus.
Who Art in Heaven-heaven is the home of God, and was promised to us as his children. God lives in our hearts in the meantime.
Hallowed Be Thy Name-we acknowledge that the name of God be regarded by everyone as more precious than anything, and should not be used in vain. There is power in God's name.
Thy Kingdom Come-refers to His final coming when He takes over for good. It also refers to our realization of heaven's principles in our lives.
Thy Will Be Done As It Is in Heaven-we are asking for God's will to be done here as well as heaven. We know what His will is through the Word, and the Holy Spirit. That includes doing, as well as praying.
Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread-this means that our needs be met every day by trust in God's Word. It also includes holy communion, Jesus the bread of life.
And Forgive Us Our Trespasses, As We Forgive Those Who Trespass Against Us.- forgiveness is reconciliation. We need forgiveness from the Father, but first we must forgive everyone from our hearts, no matter what they said or did to us. The word is very plain about that.
And Lead Us Not into Temptation-we are asking for discernment to recognize sin according to God's standards, and spiritual help to fight the flesh.
But Deliver Us from Evil-Jesus asked our Father to protect us from evil and the leader of evil. When Jesus rose from the dead, He promised the Holy Spirit to us in his absence. When Jesus returned to heaven, we received the baptism and all power of the Holy Spirit.
For Thine Is the Kingdom, The Power, And the Glory, Forever and Ever, Amen. This is recognition of God's kingdom, and His authority to rule over everything forever. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!
Remember Jesus Loves You
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You Lord
Amen
