Phases of Faith

It Is Written, 1 Corinthians 2:5, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
If you look at the subject of faith, you'll see that it appears to come in phases. If you are new to the faith, it will probably encourage you.
The first phase of faith is when you first notice an empty feeling in your heart, or you realize you need help. It may seem you have everything, but you are still empty. At some point you come in contact with someone who seems different. They are happy and show it by how they act. Maybe you run across a preacher who is talking about Jesus and salvation. You start to check it out because you feel you are driven to do so.
When you finally make the decision for Jesus, your life looks different. Now you need to grow. Talk to other real Christians, find a church that teaches the word, read the word. Realize that when a person is saved, God gives each person the same measure of faith.
Now you have phase 2. Now you start to put what you have learned into action. You make up your mind to believe, no matter what. It isn't easy at first, you will try and fail, but keep going. Don't get discouraged, pray from your heart and believe what you can handle to start with. Success leads to bigger success as you grow in faith and trust.
Now for phase 3. You make an effort to give the first part of your day to the Lord. Read the word every day, even if it is just one chapter. The Gospel of John is a good place to start. Read it several times to start with, and read it without distractions.
There will come a time that verses will become clear to you. Some will even seem to jump out at you. Without trying, you'll realize that the word of God is absolutely true. You'll realize that you want to live according to God's plan for you, because you realize He loves you so much.
I don't know how to describe the joy, peace, and love that comes over your life when you finally believe with your whole heart. Now God is your father without a doubt in your heart and your mind.
Obviously this is the short version. But knowing that if it is in the Bible, it is all true , is really a glorious experience to start a fabulous relationship with God. Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!
Remember Jesus Loves You
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You
Amen
