It Is Written, Proverbs 14:12, there is a way that seems right to a man, but it's end is the way of death.
The dictionary defines delusion as a belief maintained, despite being contradicted by reality. Delusion of grandeur is a common one. A false impression of one's own importance.
Many people are victims of this without even realizing it. It is probably more common among more educated people, people with professions, executives, and so on.
It is fairly easy to look at yourself and get that way. Most successful people worked very hard to get where they are. Most made big sacrifices that the average person wouldn't even consider. I am not criticizing or condemning these people. I am just posting warning signs, in the form of the following examples.
In this world, especially if you are a believer, there are many pitfalls. If you compare yourself to someone less successful, you may inadvertently overemphasize your talent and minimize theirs. Pride is deadly and may enter in, so you must be very careful.
Whenever you say, "I would never do that", you are puffing yourself up(pride) and condemning them(judging). I think most of us would have to plead guilty on that item. It seems to be human nature, and that is what we have to avoid.
When we give to charity, or do something kind for someone, did we have the right motivation? Do we say to ourselves, that we give or do more than other people? We can start acting like Pharisees without even realizing it, and that is very dangerous ground. Keep in mind we have high standards to live up to, and we must always be aware of what we are doing and saying.
In your life, especially if you are successful by the world standards, you must decide who or what is your God. Do you feel that you didn't need God before and you certainly don't need him now? If that is the way you feel, you may need to start rethinking what you're doing.
When we believe we did it, and not God, we are believing satan and opening the door to sins and idolatry. Even if we don't recognize God yet, He recognizes us and helps us. If you really feel God does not fit in your life, you have nothing, even if the world says you are great.
All of us fail in many ways, but our loving father forgives us. It is up to us to do our best. Don't be one of those people who gets all irritated because they think salvation has a catch. What they call a catch is the fact that when you are saved you are supposed to avoid sin as much as possible and change your life.
As I said earlier no condemnation, just a few warnings. satan always tries to distort the facts in order to try to catch us, so beware. Have a blessed day, and praise the Lord!
Remember Jesus Loves You
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me. Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation. Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You
Amen
