Greetings My Friends;
if you look at the dictionary of Bible words, you will find that the Hebrew and Greek meanings of guilty mean, to be punished, morally wrong, bad person, to be under obligation, to owe, under sentence.
Most of us have felt guilty about something in our lives, since we were little. Our parents, teachers, and even friends, have pronounced us guilty whenever we did or did not do something they wanted us to do.
We pronounce guilt ourselves. Maybe we didn't go to church last Sunday, or we did't go to a family gathering. We feel bad about things like that. Guilty also refers to something we did, like argue with someone. We tell ourselves we should have avoided the argument and the guilt begins.
Guilt is one of those things that can get you coming or going. Some of us carry guilt to an extreme. We feel guilty about everything, even the smallest infraction can ruin our day.
Condemn means to declare wrong, to judge against, punish. As you can see, guilty and condemnation have similar meanings. Both can lead a person to depression, and then to despair. You end up ruining sometimes a very large part of your life over it.
satan usually steps in somewhere in the guilt process. He throws gasoline on the fire. He does everything he can to intensify those feelings of guilt. He usually tries to tell you God doesn't love you because you are bad. If you listen to him things will get worse.
I believe God, through the Holy Spirit, tells you right from wrong. Our carnal minds take what started out as a warning from God for our good, and turns it into something the devil can use against us.
When Jesus died for our sins, he took away our guilt. He has blotted out the things we do wrong. Since we are saved, out of love for God, and His love for us, we try not to do with the Holy Spirit says is wrong. He also tells us what is right. I believe God did not intend for us to get extreme with guilt. I believe if we don't follow the Holy Spirit, instead of guilt, we should sincerely confess, and forget about what we did wrong. The Lord remembers no more.
A final word about guilt. Whenever you judge someone by your standards, you are wrong. If they did do something wrong, they probably feel terrible already, and they don't need you adding to it. Only God knows the heart. If you bring up the past or are one of those people who always finds fault, you hurt those you love more than you know. Repairing that kind of damage is very difficult.
To avoid all of this, remember God loves you and has not pronounced you guilty, don't do it to someone else. It is written "judge not lest you be judged".
God Bless You And Remember
Jesus Loves You
Prayer of Salvation;
"Oh God in Heaven, I believe with all of my heart that Jesus has been raised from the dead. I receive Your Word, and I repent of sin. I renounce the past. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. I receive my forgiveness. I receive the new birth, cleansed and washed in the Word and in the precious blood of Jesus. Fill me with Your Spirit, in Jesus name. Amen"
