Greetings, My Friends;
Trust and faith are pretty much interchangeable.
You can't have one without the other.
Many people go through life, trusting things
instead of God. We trust in our ability to do our job, whether by education, or
experience. We trust in money. We feel safe, having money because you can do
anything if you have enough money. Right? How about investments that go bad.
Aside from money, we trust in many things that we
don't even think about trusting. When you eat, you don't worry about being
poisoned. You get in your car and trust it to get you where you want to go, and
back again. You trust that your house will be there when you get back. Each of
us can probably name dozens of things we didn't realize we trusted. Most of
what we trust in will end up in the junk yard, or diminished as in investments.
When you talk to many people, the ones who have a
lot, generally trust in themselves alone. Pride comes in and a feeling of
superiority over other people usually follows. It seems that the more
education, and better the job they have, the more they esteem themselves. They
have no need for God in their minds, because they had success from their own
efforts. If you mention that they are blessed, most will totally ignore you.
Then we have people that aren't so well off. A
great many of these people pray every day. I suspect that most of these people
have some sort of faith or trust in the Lord, or they wouldn't be praying. This
is not to knock those people, but many times it takes desperation to seek the
Lord. Whether these people trust the Lord and have faith or they are just plain
desperate and feel they have nothing to lose if only they knew.
Even for a born-again Christian, there are times
when it is very difficult to have faith. We must constantly remind ourselves
that faith is believing what you cannot see physically. It is that very
situation that counts the most.
Proverbs 3:5 "trust in the Lord with all of
your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."
The best thing I can say is this. Trust and faith
is a choice. Peace in your heart and blessings, you cannot comprehend is the
reward. Get in the word. Choose to believe. It may be hard to let go all at
once but start with small things. Baby steps will get you there.
Hang in there and have faith. We all have what we
think is a setback once in awhile, but stay with it. Those setbacks may in fact
be a step forward in God's plan.
Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep him in perfect
peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts You."
God bless you and remember,
Jesus loves you.
Prayer of Salvation;
"Oh God in heaven, I believe with all my
heart that Jesus has been raised from the dead. I receive Your Word and I
repent of sin. I renounce the past. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. I receive
my forgiveness. I receive the new birth, cleansed and washed in the Word and in
the precious blood of Jesus. Fill me with Your Spirit, in Jesus name.
Amen."
