The Word

 Amos 3:7

Surely the Lord does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.

Man was created in God's image as recorded in Genesis 1:26. Since God is a spirit, His creation is also spirit. Many people discount the Bible as fantasy, written by men. It is true men wrote it over hundreds of years, but the fact is they didn't know each other, and yet all of their prophecies fit together and tell one story. The story of Jesus.

When God created us as spirits, He did it so He could communicate with man through His Spirit. Since the fall of man separated man from God, it became important for God's Spirit to talk to man's spirit with the instructions on how to get back to Him. The prophets heard from the Holy Spirit in their spirit, and that is how they were able to write what we call the Bible. God's spirit direct man's spirit, with no one or nothing in between to confuse the message.

The Bible calls satan the great deceiver, and the father of lies. satan's mission in life is to get as many people as he can to follow him. He will twist God's word to make it sound like it is correct, but if the believer reads the Bible he can discern the truth. The Bible is such a powerful Word of God, and such a powerful message for salvation, that satan does everything he can to make people believe that God is evil, mean, terrible, and that the Bible is a work of pure fantasy. Don't be deceived.

2 Peter 1:21

.For prophecy never came by the will of man, but by holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

What most people don't realize, is that the Bible was written as a book of love, and instruction, to enable those who believed to get back to their creator. If we follow the Word as God instructs us, our life will be one of praise for, and love to our Father in heaven. We cannot in the flesh love Him the way we should, but if we allow our spirits to talk to His spirit, that will accomplish what we can not as do as humans.

The big thing to remember is that in this world  the only truth is found in the Bible.  God bless you and your family.

Enjoy Each Day

 Psalm 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Every one of us, has a lot of things in common. We may not like to admit it, but it is true. For instance, do you put off doing something you don't really want to do? Do you sometimes put it off so long that it becomes bigger and harder to do. Join the club.

How about this one. Does it take a serious illness for you to realize that you should be thankful for good health? Join the club. How about appreciation of family, job, home, and many other blessings. Will it take losing something before the value of it is recognized?

Life is full of ugly surprises. They usually happen suddenly, without warning. Regrets are a huge, ugly, impossible burden to carry. The way to beat it is to take advantage of g everything you cherish, right now. Think of the joy you had celebrating life, when you can look back without regret of any kind.

The biggest decision of life, is whether to accept Jesus as Savior. It cannot be put off, because it is so final. Eternity is forever. None of us knows when the clock of life will stop. The right decision now can produce eternal joy, and the wrong decision will produce eternal, unimaginable regret. We must all practice making decisions in the now, and not putting any off no matter how trivial they may seem to us. Someone once said, that it is the things you didn't do, that cause regrets, not the things you did do.

Who Is Really in Control

 John 14:26

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you.

If you ask a regular person on the street, they would probably say that they are in control. But are they? It may be pride, ego, or a real belief. The real truth is, none of us is.

We make decisions every day. Some are reflex, and some we have to give some thought to. The really important ones are based on facts as we know them. However sometimes emotion rules instead of logic. At that point lookout for bad decisions.

The cold hard fact is, that in this world, circumstances are happening all over the world that affect outcomes. If you follow the stock market, you come to the conclusion that most of what is happening makes no sense. It sometimes seems as if someone sneezes in China, your 401 or IRA takes a hit. The truth is, life is full of crazy things happening for no apparent reason.

There is an answer. That answer is found in today's verse. I have found over the years, if I ask the Holy Spirit to guide my decisions, he does. I'm not trying to say you'll never make a decision that turns out wrong, I'm saying Holy Spirit will guide you to really good ones, based on God's plan for your life. It just depends on how well you listen and believe what He is telling you.

We don't have all the facts, and how all the pieces fit, but the Holy Spirit does. Let Him handle it. Just ask Him, then wait for an answer. The result will come at the right time. What time is that, and how long will it take?  Simple, God's time is always  the right time.  God bless you and your family.

Praise the Lord!

Let Go Already

It Is Written, Isaiah 41:10, fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Does that verse sound familiar? Do you believe it? Here are a few things to think about, before you reject the idea.

We have all heard about how we should forgive others. Besides being commanded by God, it is just common sense. If someone does you  some harm or insult, getting angry and not forgiving that person, means nothing to them. If you don't forgive and forget, it could eat you up, your whole life.

Now we come to decisions and problems. God wants us to put all of our cares on Him. His word says so. The sooner we give our cares to God, the sooner we can be free of them. He wants us to, and there is no limits to His offer.

Life is a journey, just like any trip. When you choose to take a lot of baggage, it creates many unforeseen problems. Traveling light is much easier, and far faster.

Unforgiveness, and cares or worries, is one heck of a lot of baggage. When you do it God's way, the trip is much more enjoyable.

How do you want to travel the journey called life? God bless you and your family.

Praise the Lord!

Kind Act = Praise God

It Is Written, Luke 10:27, so he answered and said, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your strength, with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.

When you ask someone how to praise God, you may get a blank stare. Most people believe it is too big and too difficult for anyone to be able to do.

Let's take a realistic look at it. In the first place, if you have not accepted salvation, praising God would never enter your mind. Since that is the case, how difficult is it to praise God? Impossible.

Read Galatians 5:22-23, the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such there is no law. If you follow these verses as guidelines, you will see that this set of guidelines, is the way Christians should live.  When you live by these ideas as much as possible, you are following the Word of God and you are indeed praising God.

Let's take it a step further. As you go through your day, you can thank God for all of your blessings. Be sure to include things like, your site, your hearing, your breathing, and countless other things most people do not even think of as blessings.

By our very existence, living according to God's Word, and being thankful, we are praising Him. One more thing. Prayer is better when we just talk to God from our hearts, rather than reading someone else's words.

That wasn't so complicated, was it? God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

The Only Answer

 John 15:7

If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

Thomas Paine wrote “these are times that try men's souls”. He wrote these words at the time of our war for independence. It was true then, and it is true now.

It was said, if  we don't know our history we are doomed to repeat it. George Santayana, an author from the late 19th, early 20th century, came up with that pearl of wisdom.

Our founding fathers believed that a Republic of free people must rely on the grace of a loving God in order to succeed. For nearly 200 years, the majority of our leaders believed it too.

History does repeat itself, over and over. If you read the history of the Roman Empire, you'll see a strong resemblance to our current situation. The greatest empires in history were conquered from within. Same story over and over.

It is not too late. 2 Chronicles 7:14, clearly states, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

According to the Bible there are many occasions in the history of the chosen people that they sinned greatly, suffered the consequences of their choices, begged God for mercy, and He healed their land.

As it says many times in Ecclesiastes, there is nothing new under the sun. The time for salvation is now. Prayers for our country is now. God is still there, waiting to hear from us. 1 John 1:9, reminds us, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God bless you and your family.

Praise the Lord!

Unconditional Love

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

If you are a Christian, you recognize the truth of both of these verses. God loves you! As a matter of fact, when Christ died on the cross, He had you in mind. He knew each of us, and knowing we would sin, He forgave us ahead of time.

Romans 5:8, doesn't tell the whole story. As we go through life, we ignore God's Word, we do things we shouldn't do, we make bad choices, we associate with the wrong people.

The sad fact is we might live that way for most of our lives. There is however, something most of us don't realize until we accept Jesus as our Savior, and realize we need forgiveness.

That one thing was the fact that Jesus and the Holy Spirit helped us along the way, and steered us toward  salvation.  Yes we had rough times every so often, but that was allowed by God to get our attention. We also found out, that our bad decisions, had consequences, even though we were forgiven. So if you are down, frightened, overwhelmed by what you see in the world, remember this important fact. God loves you unconditionally! God wants you back with Him in heaven.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the one who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

God bless you and your family.

Finding Trust

It is written Psalm 32:10,
many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.
Have you ever trusted in someone with something very important? Did they let you down? Were you surprised?
Some people just naturally don't trust anyone, even God. Most people however will at times trust someone else, to do, or not to do something.
The level of trust we assign to someone, is usually based on how well they do what they say they will do. Take your parents for instance. As you were growing up, you trusted your parents because you knew that they loved you and would not hurt you.
Even your parents let you down at times, probably due to circumstances they could not control. If parents let you down, think about how friends can let you down. The ugly truth is most people care only about themselves and not others.
If you look at the track record of our Father God, you'll find that He loves you more than anyone else can. He controls circumstances, circumstances do not control Him. He will keep you from things that will separate you from Him, and ends up giving you more than you expected. So just relax in God's love, and enjoy trust in someone who will keep his word always. God bless you and your family.
Praise The Lord!

Bible Fulfilled

2 Timothy 3:1-5

But know this, that in the last days, perilous time will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away.

If you talk to a number of people about reading the Bible, you'll always get the same old excuses. I don't have time, I can't understand it, it's just a bunch of stories. You can find new people every day, and get the same old excuses.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All  Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Bible scholars the world over, unanimously agree that all of the prophecies written in the Bible until now, have come true. It is therefore reasonable to assume the rest of the prophecies as written in the Bible will also come true.

People who read the Bible know what is going on in the world. They know what to expect and where they stand. They know the end is near, and that now is the time for salvation. Read Matthew 25:1-13 to give you an idea of what I am talking about. Find  time to do it, it is enlightening.

There are many of God's people out in the world, waiting for someone to show them by example and work, that God is real, and loves them through us, God's representatives on earth. The world desperately needs Jesus, and many don't even know it. They can however meet Him through us,because by our works, they will see Christ reflected in us.  God bless you and your family.. Praise the Lord!

The World Needs You

Matthew 28:18-20

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and now I am with you always even to the end of the age. Amen.

Here is something that you probably never heard before. We know that we need God, but did you know God needs you? Sound crazy? Check this out.

Since man left the garden of Eden, sin has been a problem. Sin has grown much more, and much faster than man. Over the years, God has tried to wake people up to the fact that they were sinful. Even the great flood didn't change man.

Since God created all men as His children, He had, and still has, a parental desire that they all come back to Him. For that reason, He sent prophets to teach man His way. It didn't work.

God then made the ultimate sacrifice, His only Son Jesus. We know what Jesus did, and how some people were saved. After His death and resurrection, He would no longer be on this earth. As today's verse tells us, He expects us to do His work in His place. We even have the same Holy Spirit that He had.

So here we are, 2000 years later. The world has an enormous number of people, and even more sin. Fortunately there is a decent number of God's people to reflect Jesus light to the world. Many are left that will be saved if we do our part. We are like farmers. Remember the parable of the sower? The world is the ground, and we are the sowers. So what seeds should we plant? We find the answer in Galatians 5:22-23.

Galatians 5:22-23

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness (patience ), gentleness, self-control, against such there is no law.
Two
These are some of the seeds that we plant, by our works,  in order for the Holy Spirit to make them grow. The time of the harvest is coming soon. Probably a lot sooner than any of us realize.

So it all comes down to this. The world needs Jesus, and we must do our part in helping everyone find Him. God bless you and your family.
