My Time With Jesus Tuesday

The Authority Of The Believer

Matthew 10: 1, and when He had called His 12 disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sicknesses, and all kinds of diseases.

All believers have the authority to act in Jesus’s name and carry on the work He started. The instructions He gave the apostles, still apply to us today. We are in effect, His Hands, His feet, His voice, on this earth until He comes back.

Jesus told us what to do and how. Many people do not believe that we have the authority to access his power. Some even think it might be heresy or blasphemy to even think that way. Well, my friends, we not only have this verse to go by but even the Great Commission. These verses pretty well spell it out.

Matthew 28: 18-20, Jesus came and spoke to them saying, all authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and love, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

There is a fairly large group of believers who accept the idea of authority, they just aren't sure how to tap into it. Some make an effort by listening to preachers and trying to do what they say. There are many good preachers, but unfortunately a lot of the believers  inadvertently turned that instruction into a system of rules. At that point it usually becomes just words.

The biggest problem facing most people when they pray, is they don't believe fully, they think the outcome is the result of their efforts, and they don't believe God will do it for them. As a result, they get stressed out, and their doubt negates the prayer.

Let's take the mystery and stress out of prayer. Read the word regularly and get to know Jesus and the Father.

James 1: 5, if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

When you do, you will hear the Holy Spirit in your heart. Follow His lead. If the voice does not line up with the word, don't do it. When you pray with authority in Jesus’s name, keep it simple and to the point. When you're finished praying, relax and leave it up to the Holy Spirit. He will always answer prayer to the advantage of the one prayed for. There's a little example that might help you. Consider yourself as a hammer and Jesus is the Carpenter. He uses the hammer to build His projects. Praise The Lord we are a tool in Hs hands if we choose to be. God Bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus Loves you.

Prayer of Salvation.

My Lord Jesus Christ, I Thank you and Praise you for what you did on the cross for me. By your Stripes I was Healed and your Blood washed away my sins. Your Death and Resurrection made my Salvation possible. I confess my sins, and I ask you to come into my heart as my personal Savior. Thank you Lord

Amen!

Praise The Lord!

God's Promises Sunday

God in your life

Ephesians 2: 8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Most of us at one time or another say a prayer for God to do something in our lives, but we aren't quite sure if it will happen. There is a way you can know that your prayers are heard and will be answered.

When you know how much God loves you, and you see all the little things He does in your life, it helps your faith to grow. Don't forget that God loves us so much that He saved us through grace. We did not have to do any kind of works to be saved, and we don't have to do any works for God to answer our prayers.

I have found over the years that you have to work at faith. It isn't just one and done. satan is always trying to get you to go his way, so it makes sense that in order to stay with God you have to be close to Him.

I have found if I cast all my cares on Him, and believe, He never fails to answer. That does not mean that's the end of it. As you are waiting on God's timing, you have to realize that no matter what satan tries to do to get you to think otherwise, God almighty did hear you and He will answer you.

It may seem silly, but as I go through my day, I talk to the Holy Spirit and I say things like, Holy Spirit I don't know how I'm going to do this, or Holy Spirit how do I do this. I am never disappointed.

Another thing that happens to most people is they start to get a little bit of doubt creeping in. There is an answer to that too. First of all, it is a normal thing to happen in this day and age. The answer though, is you calmly go to our Lord God Almighty and ask Him in Jesus Christ name, to help you stand strong and believe. He will.

As time goes on you will find that it becomes easier and easier to approach the Lord with whatever is bothering you. If He loves us so much that He grants us salvation by grace, why would He not answer prayers? Almighty God cannot go against His own words, nor can our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, if sometime you start to feel a little doubt about something, don't get in a panic, that's what satan wants. Just go to our Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit. It doesn't matter which one you pray to because they are all one.

All of us need to get along with our lives, keep in touch with our Heavenly Father, and know that you are not alone in whatever it is you are going through.

As you know by now, all the promises of God, and the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are written right there for us to read and believe. Just ask Him to help you believe, and you will.

Jesus Christ in your life

John 1: 1, in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

When thinking about the Lord Jesus, we should ask ourselves whether we know Jesus, or about Jesus. There is a big difference between the two.

Unfortunately, many people only know the Jesus that is portrayed by Hollywood. Movies over the last 50 years or so paint different pictures of Him. Some movies portray Him in a way that gives you a reasonably decent picture of Him. These movies are respectful of Jesus and tell of some of His miracles. They are a good start to the story of Jesus for children.

The other type of movies are the typical Bible kind of movie, which is generally a combination of special effects and pure nonsense. Very little of it is even remotely true. There are also a couple of so-called Jesus’ movies that are beyond disrespectful. I guess they were made to play to a corrupt part of our society.

John 14: 6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.

If you really want to know Jesus the person, it will be necessary to discover the true version as written in the Bible. In the Bible you will find out why He came and what He did. We see His tremendous compassion and unconditional love for everyone. His grace is freely given to us so that we may be saved.

Romans 10: 9-10, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We must look at His heart, and how much He wants us to be with Him. If we look just at His miracles, we are missing it. Because of Jesus’s love for us, He gave His life for our sins to be forgiven. He paid the ultimate price, so we don't have to.

We are righteous in God's sight because of what Jesus did not what we do. Reading and studying the Bible is a small price to pay in order to get to know the one who died for you. I speak often about eternity, and where we will end up. I tell you this for your own good. Since we decide what will happen when we pass, do you want to make your judgment according to a suspect movie, what someone else says, or the true written word of God?

Since there is so much to talk about with the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no room to do it in one message. Find out for yourself by reading the Bible, and don't trust anyone for your salvation.

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

From The Natural To The Spiritual

Ezekiel 36: 26, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the hardest stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Miracles are the result of having faith and trust in our hearts. There are dozens of verses that tell us how important that what we have in our heart really is.

Your brain determines belief in God or some false god such as money. Good or evil starts in the brain. It's all about how you perceive things, and that is what gets transmitted to the heart.

Psalm 66: 18, if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.

Proverbs 23: 26, my son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe My ways.

Proverbs 21: 2, every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.

A lot of people think that their mind knows and believes, but they don't really feel anything in their heart. So how do you get from your head to your heart? I believe the heart of every man longs for the Lord. There's a feeling in the heart that knows only God can  satisfy. The heart is telling the brain what it needs and wants, but the brain is ignoring it in many cases.

The average brain is ruled by the body, and that is the problem. Even though the brain knows deep down what is right, it wants to take what it considers the easy way and follows what the world thinks.

This situation is not hopeless. Think about this. You have Jesus inside of you, and the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ our Savior. Realize that the presence of the Hoy Spirit is the boss, and the rest of you, including the brain must obey.

The only way to make your heart happy and full of faith is by prayer and God's word. Tell your brain there is a new boss in town, and it better start obeying. The word says draw closer to God and He will draw closer to you.

It all boils down to your brain being trained to make your body read God's word, for the message to get to the heart. It takes faith in your heart to get prayers answered. Your brain is just a messenger from God's word to our hearts. Think about that.

God Bless you and your family.

God's Promises Sunday

Bringing Sadness To Almighty God

Ephesians 3: 6, that the gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel.

It's pretty easy for most people to picture an angry God. What they have trouble seeing, is a loving, caring, just God. The sad part is most people only know what other people say is in the Bible. They never find out for themselves what the real truth is.

Once you find out what the Bible and Almighty God are all about, reading the Old Testament will tell you a whole different story than what you think, because the truth of everything is revealed.

There are some of us who are so hardened against God we wouldn't recognize or acknowledge a blessing if it hit us right between the eyes.

John 3: 16, for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Our Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died for us, so that all of our sins, past, present, and future were forgiven. By His stripes we were healed. The Lord Jesus conquered death and satan, and as a result we will too, because salvation was now possible through Jesus Christ.

God has given believers the right to unlimited blessings in Jesus’ name. All we have to do is receive them. Many people do not receive anywhere near what God wants for them because they don't know, or they mistakenly think they are bothering God.

It saddens God when we don't accept what He has given us and will give us. When we lack faith or trust in His word that too saddens Him. When we don't read His book of instructions the Bible, that saddens Him. When we don't talk to Him in prayer, again it saddens Him. When we don't recognize what Jesus did for us, it really is a slap in God's face.

We should all answer the question. If we were God, would we give our only son to suffer and die for mankind? If the world treated that son the way the world feels about His Son, would we still love them? Don't let second or third hand knowledge determine your eternity. God Bless you and your family.

My Time With Jesus Tuesday

 Nothing Bigger Than God

Colossians 1: 16, for by Him all things were created that are in Heaven and that are on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through him and for him.

Most people will tell you that God can do anything, but in their hearts it's usually a different story. Why the disconnect? Most people judge what God can do, by what man can do, And that is the problem.

If you believe in God to begin with, He is only as big and powerful as your mind lets Him be. We limit God by our thinking, and then we judge Him for it. Sometimes we limit God by what our friends think. Will they ridicule you, or make you the butt of jokes? Are you thinking about you, or about God?

So, think about this. God created everything, so it stands to reason He can fix anything. Since God is a spirit, He can be everywhere at once. God can perform miracles that are so impossible to us, that even if we witnessed one, most people wouldn't believe, and look for another explanation.

Genesis 1: 1 in the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth.

When you realize in your heart that God is a supreme being, then raising the dead, growing new limbs on a person, or any other thing that we consider impossible, is absolutely no effort for Him.

When you know in your heart that He has no limits, He will start working in your life. He is as big as we need Him to be. Just believe it. Look around you if you need proof. God Bless you and your family. Praise The Lord!

Remember Jesus Loves you.

God's Promises Sunday

The Least Of These

Matthew 25: 40, inasmuch as you did it to the least of these, my brethren, you did it to Me.

Luke 9: 48, And He said to them, whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For him who is least among you all will be great.

As you can see from these verses, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a very compassionate as well as just person. These verses are easy to understand and are very powerful. The Lord tells us in plain English how much it means to Him. So why do you suppose the average Christian ignores a lot of what Jesus said?

For starters, how many of us know that these verses are in the Bible? If we know it, are we overwhelmed by it to the point of helplessness on our part? What can we do? Can it possibly be that we find it too hard to do?

First of all, there are many people in this world. About eight billion in fact. We are bombarded by so many charities on TV and in the mail, that it makes our heads spin. We don't know how to help because there are so many, and a large percentage of them are scams.

Matthew 25: 34 through 36, then the king will say to those on his right hand, come, you blessed of my father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.

This story goes on for a few more verses and it really explains the types of things we need to consider. Even though some of these charities might be a scam, the thing we should do is talk to the Lord about it before we give, and if He leads us to give, do it. If by chance it is a scam the Lord still gives us credit for it.

I know at one time I received so many appeals in the mail and on my computer that it made my head spin. I've talked to the Lord about what category of charities I should be looking for. I checked a few of them out. It would be a good idea to select charities that also teach the Word. Talk to the Lord about it and do what is in your heart.

Next, pray for these charities with a sincere heart. Keep your eyes open for someone to help. It doesn't always have to be money. An encouraging word or prayer works according to God's will. Before you dismiss it as most people do, think about it. Do unto others is the old saying and it's true. God Bless you and your family.

Remember Jesus Loves you.
