Being A Steward

It Is Written Matthew 25:14-30, in the parable of the talents, a description of one of the things a Steward does.
A Steward is one who manages what belongs to another.  Whether we realize it or not, we too are stewards.  Since everything belongs to God, we are only using what He gave us to take care of.
Most, if not all of us, complain about things God has given us. This includes everything.  Not enough money, house is too small, the car is old, and so it goes.
If you gave your child a bicycle for instance, and he or she did not take care of it, how would you feel?  What if they complained about it all the time, and destroyed it through carelessness and neglect?  Would you give them a better one?
God distributes as He chooses, because He knows how each of us fits into His master plan.  Some people live in poverty to the point of starvation. Some people have more than they know what to do with.  God is anxious to see what we do with what he has given us to take care of.
We may drive an old car in cold weather, and that is a blessing.  Some people have to walk.  He gives us opportunities to use what he gives us to take care of, in a way that makes us and Him happy.  Appreciate what God gives you, use it wisely, be thankful, and your reward will be more and greater, as you earn His trust.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

Grace Through Faith

It Is Written, Luke 2:40, and the child grew up and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.
If you meditate on the above verse, you will probably reach the conclusion that we are spiritually like Jesus. We as believers are filled with the same Holy Spirit that filled Jesus and raised Him from the dead.
Jesus received grace from God, and we did too.  As we grow our faith, we are also growing in the spirit, and God's grace covers us.
Jesus was sinless in His life.  We are not.  There is no way we can be sinless in our lives on our own. God knew that to begin with, so He sent His Son to pay for all the sins we committed, and will commit.
When Jesus suffered, died, and rose again, our sins were not only forgiven, but we also became righteous in the eyes of God, through Him.  We became children of God and heirs of Heaven.  We were saved by grace the way Jesus received grace.  Ephesians 2:8, for by grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves;  it is the gift of God.   May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

Let The Child Out

It Is Written, Mark 10:15, assuredly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.
Have you ever promised a child something?  What happened?  That child probably expected that promise to be fulfilled immediately.  He believed, so he had every right to expect you to keep your word.
A child does not just walk away if the promise is not fulfilled on the spot. He or she will still believe, and keep reminding you of your promise.  Sooner or later they will outlast you, and they will get what they wanted.
And so here's a question that applies to most of us. When we as children of God ask our Father for something in Jesus name, and don't receive it right away, why do we start to doubt and give up?
Unlike man, God's Word is always true.  He cannot lie.  Numbers 23:19 says, God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will he not do?  Or has He spoken and will He not make it good?
Since God is completely trustworthy, why do we give up in doubt?  Find verses in His Word to remind Him of His promises.  Don't give up.  Let the child in you take over.  You are a child of God, act like it, thanking Him always for everything.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

Light of Life

It Is Written, John 8:12, then Jesus spoke to them again, saying "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life".
When we see a lighthouse in person, or even pictures of lighthouses, they conjure up pictures in our minds. They can look lonely, perched on rocks facing the sea. Lighthouses can also look peaceful and warm.
You can let your imagination put you on an old-time tall ship. It is night, pitch black, and a really bad storm is tossing the ship around like a toy. Everyone is worried about dying.
Suddenly, someone sees a powerful light piercing the stormy darkness. They know that that light will keep them from certain death on the rocks, and show them the way home to a safe port. In those sailors minds, that light means they are saved if they follow it.
You knew Jesus would come into this message somehow. Jesus is the light. His light pierces the darkness of this world. Just as the sailors were in a storm, so are we. satan is trying to make that storm we are in, cause our destruction.
The saving light is out there, ready to guide us safely home. That light is called Jesus Christ. Darkness cannot exist in the light of His presence. Just as a lighthouse helps those who trust in its guidance, Jesus will guide anyone who trusts in Him. He will get you home if you let Him. May God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Valuing Other People

It Is Written, Philippians 2:4,  let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Valuing other people is something we don't usually think about.  Even family members are not consciously valued.  It is something that we may not even know how to do.  In order to value a family member or anyone else, we must forget our own feelings, and think about how others affect our lives.
Let's use parents for example.  From the time we are born parents take care of us.  As we grow, they provide our necessities and wants, even if they have to sacrifice their wants and feelings.
Parents have what we call unconditional love.  They love us no matter what, and forgive everything. They are who we go to when we are hurt, physically and emotionally, and even in our storms of life.
Parents try to guide us in the ways to a better life in the future.  They show us by example, and they do the best they can.
If we stop to think about the value to us, what they do is priceless.  Instead of complaining about what we think they did wrong in our lives, we should realize what they did right, and treasure them. Tell them and show them what they mean to you.
This type of thought does not apply only to parents, but to siblings, friends neighbors, coworkers.  If we really stop and think about the people that we interact with every day, there are many people that help us, teach us, give us a kind word, even help us physically with a problem.
People such as the mailman, the policeman, and many others that we take for granted, are good examples, and there are many more.  I personally never realized how easy it is to take advantage of somebody, or not recognize what they do for us, because they just do their job.  I for one am going to make more of an effort to appreciate the other guy.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

Diversions

It Is Written, Psalm 82:5, they do not know, nor do they understand;  they walk about in darkness;  all the foundations of the earth are unstable.
Have you ever really thought about why most people ignore God?  How about when you are trying to follow God and struggling with it?
The answer to both of these questions is satan.  You may not even realize he is doing it.  He doesn't always use a lie directly, because some people may catch on to what he is doing,  so he goes about his business in another way.
satan wants to keep your mind off God,  and ignorant of the fact he is manipulating you.  He does it through diversions.  He has packed the world with diversions.  He will glorify illicit sex, tell you drugs will ease your pain, drinking is cool, and so on.
He tries to numb your mind, by throwing all kinds of temptations your way.  His goal is to take away your conscience, so that evil will become good in your mind, and you will not be able to tell the difference between good and bad.  He wants to make evil, and things your God.
You may say that the world does not affect you that way.  Well, do you have self-pity, envy, anger, and so on?  All are diversions designed to keep you from the one true God.  You can overcome satan by asking God for forgiveness and guidance.  He is waiting for you.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

What You Don't Know

It Is Written, Proverbs 19:2, it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge.  And he sins who hastens with his feet.
There is an old saying that says, "what you don't know won't hurt you".  It seems that many people still believe this bit of ostrich behavior.
If you are in physical danger, do you suppose denying it will make it go away?  No.  You must make an intelligent decision in order to avoid that danger.
In this crazy world, many people are in denial about many things, so they look for something that their minds can escape to.  Addictions to porn, drugs, alcohol, even TV and cell phones to name a few.
There is a Heaven and a hell.  It doesn't matter how hard you kick and scream, they will always be there.  Whether you realize it or not, you decide which one you will go to.
Hell is a no-brainer.  Just keep on doing what the world is doing, that's all it takes.  Heaven on the other hand is tough.  First you must reject what the world calls good, tolerance as the world understands it, and political correctness.  Now you must get directions to Heaven from God Himself. His directions are in a book called the Bible.  Again no matter what you may think, the truth is, the only way to Heaven is through Jesus.  No matter who tells you something else, they are wrong.  Again denial doesn't change the facts, and what you don't know will hurt you.
Jesus died for us to forgive our sins, and show us the way to eternal life with Him.  Compare eternity which is forever, to the little time it takes to know and follow God.  A lifetime is like a grain of sand in endless space.
Remember this.  It is what Almighty God says it is, and just because you don't care to know the truth, or accept the truth, it doesn't change the truth.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

Guidelines For A Perfect Day

It Is Written, Psalm 119:24, this is the day the Lord has made;  we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Just for today, I will try to live this day only and not tackle all of life at once.
Just for today, I will be happy.  Happiness comes from within.
Just for today, I will accept things I cannot change and not try to adjust everything to my own desires.
Just for today, I will take care of my body, and care for it and nourish it both physically and emotionally.
Just for today, I will try to strengthen my mind.  I will learn something useful.
Just for today, I will be agreeable, be courteous, slow to criticize and find fault.
Just for today, I will have a program.  I may not follow it exactly, but I'll have it as a pattern to follow.
Just for today, I will have a quiet time, all by myself, and relax.  In this time, I will think of God, so as to get a little more perspective in my life.
Just for today, I will be unafraid to be happy, to enjoy what is beautiful, to love and be loved.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

God's Way

It Is Written, Psalm 127:1-2, unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it;  unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.  It is vain for you to rise up early, sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows;  for so He gives his beloved sleep.
God prospers those who trust in Him.  By trusting God and doing everything His way, we have great advantages.
God wants us to have the best, and to be happy.  He knows every single thing that must be adjusted in the future in order for His perfect plan for us to work.  He clears the blockages, and brings the right people into our lives.
When God gives us a special assignment, He will bless what we started until it is completed.  We just follow what He tells us in faith, and watch miracles happen.  God will never tell us to do something and then abandon us.
When we do something without God, we are heading for trouble.  satan and the world do everything they can to try to get us to have other gods, and the destruction of our spiritual future..
The world considers God and His way foolishness.  1 Corinthians 1:18, for the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise The Lord!

A Simple Prayer

It Is Written, Psalm 145:19, and He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;  He also will hear their cry and save them.
You can watch just about any Christian preacher, and you will hear different ways to pray.  In recent years you hear about speaking to a problem in Jesus name, or about having authority in Jesus name to pronounce things such as healing.  The authority comes from the words Jesus spoke to His apostles and disciples just before His ascension.
I want to make it perfectly clear that I am not disagreeing with these teachings.  The problem I find with most people is that they slip into thinking that these prayers are dependent on them in order to be answered.  I have heard preachers say on many occasions, that we don't make it happen, but our faith in Jesus does.  We worry about it anyway though.
Most people get disappointed when they don't get immediate results.  Most of the time they don't expect the desired results, so they get what they expect.  So there is the dilemma.
One day I was relaxing, with a pretty uncluttered mind, and a simple way to pray popped into my head.  Take quiet time with the Lord, and speak to Him as you would your best friend.  Then thank Him and praise Him for the blessings and miracles in your life.  Then tell Him the desires of your heart, and tell Him that you know that He has the best way and the best plan for you.  Put everything you pray about in His hands with all your heart.  Thank Him for the answer, and believe it is done.  Remind Him every day until it manifests in this natural world.
When the average person does it this way, they have much less trouble believing, because they aren't in a position to rely on themselves for the answer to a prayer.  This is a good way to build your faith to the point where you can do it the way the preachers tell you. Taking the authority Jesus gave us to do things He expects us to do in His name.
A little helpful hint.  Look back in your life and see where God took care of you, when it may have seemed impossible.  As a matter of fact there are many times He took care of all of us when we least expected, and without us asking.  Read Proverbs 3:5-6, I think that will make everything pretty clear. In the meantime may God bless you and your family.                     Praise the Lord!

Judge Not

It Is Written, Matthew 7:1-2, judge not that you be not judged.  For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
The world is full of hate these days.  In God's eyes hate is the equivalent of murder.  1 John 3:15 says, whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
There are people in the world today that have so much hate in their hearts and poison in their tongues, that it appears they are possessed by, or led by satan.
Some people who pass themselves off as Christians, often see evil as good, and good as evil.  Israel, and the Jewish people are the favorite target. When you read some of the things they write, you can feel their frustration, because they cannot find words to describe their hatred.
These so-called Christians see only what satan wants them to see.  How are they different from Hitler or Stalin, or any number of other evil people from the past.
We must pay attention to what God says, not what satan says.  It seems to me that these Israel bashers have forgotten, Jesus was and is a Jew.  He says that He loves those who love Israel , and will bless them, and those who hate Israel He will curse.  Read Revelation, it will open your eyes.
By the way, this applies to all people, not just Israel.  God created everyone and everything, so it is all up to Him.  None of us can blink an eye accept by the grace of God, so how can we judge each other?  When we put ourselves above everyone, our pride will make us fall.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

Authority

It Is Written Mark 16:15-18, and He said to them, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned, and these signs will follow those who believe, in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;  they will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them, he will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
In these end times, a number of preachers have begun teaching about the authority of the believer. They mention the great commission given by Jesus to the apostles, and by extension, to believers of every age.
I have heard examples of authority, by using a policeman directing traffic. That type of example is good, but doesn't go far enough.
When I was working, I received a promotion into middle management.  I knew a good deal of authority came with it.  It was a large corporation, but they had few guidelines for middle management.
One day I was talking to someone at my level, but in a totally different area.  I asked for some advice, because I wasn't sure how much authority I had.  His answer was a surprise.  He said, just do what you think is best, until someone tells you to stop.  Then he added, no one will tell you to stop.
As I think about that conversation many years ago, a few things came to mind that helped me understand the believers authority.
Since we are dealing with the spiritual world, most of us are unsure what that authority means.  When that happens, satan steps in and tries to set really low limits, by planting doubt as to whether Jesus ever intended for us to have authority.
Since Jesus never set limits on how much of what He directed believers to do, we must remember that whatever He says is true, and He will back us up if we are following His directives.  So take what Jesus said we should do, and push it as far as you can.  He will never tell you to stop, or fail to back you up, if you do it His way.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

Victory

It Is Written, 1 Corinthians 15:57, but thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Another gem from Adventist.
When you are forgotten or neglected or purposely set at naught, and you can smile inwardly glorying in the insult or the oversight-That Is Victory!
When your good is evil spoken of, when your wishes are crossed, your tastes offended, your advice disregarded, your opinions ridiculed and you take it all in patient loving silence-That Is Victory!
When you are content with any food and raiment, any climate and society, any solitude, any  interruption-That Is Victory!
When you can bear with any discord, any irregularity, any un punctuality, any annoyance,-That Is Victory!
When you can stand face to face with waste, folly, extravagance, spiritual insensibility,  and endure it all as Jesus endured it-That Is Victory!
When you never care to refer to yourself in conversation, or to record your own good works, or to seek after commendation, when you can truly love to be unknown-That Is Victory!

It's in the Valleys I Grow

I ran across this at an Adventist Hospital, and thought it would be a good idea to pass it around.  I hope you like it.
Sometimes life seems hard to bear, full of sorrow, trouble and woe;  it's then I have to remember that it is in the valleys I grow.
If I always stayed on the mountain top and never experienced pain, I would never appreciate God's love and would be living in vain.
I have so much to learn and my growth is very slow, sometimes I need the mount tops, but it is in the valleys I grow.
I do not always understand why things happen as they do;  but I am sure of one thing, my Lord will see me through.
My little valleys are nothing when I picture Christ on the cross;  He went through the Valley of death, His victory was satan's loss.
Forgive me Lord for complaining when I'm feeling so very low.  Just give me a gentle reminder that it is in the valleys I grow.
Continue to strengthen me, Lord and use my life each day to share your love with others and help them find their way.
Thank you for the valleys Lord, for this one thing I know, the mountain tops are glorious but it is in the valleys I grow!
I hope this inspires you as much a s it inspired me.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

A Patch of Sand

It Is Written, James 1:2-4, my brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
If you stop and think about it, life resembles a golf course.  If you are not familiar with the golf game, let me explain briefly.  The object of the game is to hit a small ball, and try to get that ball to fall into a small hole many meters away.
In between the place where you hit the ball , and the place it is to go, is what they call sand traps. One of the things you don't want to do, is to get the ball in the sand trap, because it is very difficult to get out of.  The traps were placed where they were in order to make it difficult to get to the goal. What has this got to do with life, let's take a look.
In life we operate pretty much the same way, except our traps are called finances, jobs, depression, addictions, and all sorts of other problems. Many of these are extremely hard to get out of.  Just like golf it can really humble you.
In life, depending on where you are spiritually, these traps can be a wake-up call, cause you to grow, or crush you.
Fortunately in the game of life, we have rules that if followed, guarantees our victory.  It is called the Word of God.  If we follow His rules, and stick to it, the traps we encounter in life, are just a small test of patience.  It would really be nice if the game of golf was that simple.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

What Is the Bible?

It Is Written, Jeremiah 5:21, hear this now, O foolish people, without understanding, who have eyes and see not, and who have ears and hear not.
The Bible is the written Word of God.  It is the story of man, and the world, from creation to destruction.  It is more accurate than yesterday's news. Many people do not believe that, to their own peril.
The Bible tells us what is happening now, and what will happen in the future.  It was written hundreds, and even thousands of years ago.  God's Word was told to dozens of people by the Holy Spirit.  Because some of the things they wrote do not match what we think, we often dismiss them.
If you could get tomorrow's newspaper today, and you saw the winning lottery numbers, would you buy a ticket?  What if each day, you could see all of the next day's news, would you benefit?
The Bible has over 2000 prophecies that have been fulfilled.  Each one, 100% accurate.  The odds of that happening are like having a winning lottery ticket every week, until the end of time and an infinite number of years beyond.
Eternity is coming.  The Bible will get you to the right place, if you believe and follow it.  satan and this world can only cause your eternal destruction. The choice is yours.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

Eyes Wide Open

It Is Written, John 4:24, God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit.
There is no need to rehash what the world is like.  It is a tough, soul stealing place.  It always has been, and will be getting worse until Jesus comes.
You have probably heard of people they call doomsday preppers.  They are people who are looking to store food, water, and a place to hide, and a means of surviving when the cataclysm comes.
In a worldly way, I guess they have a good idea.  Unfortunately that is the wrong kind of doomsday prepping.  In a world gone nuts, when the time comes, all of their efforts will come to nothing.
Personally I think we should all be doomsday preppers, but in the spiritual sense.  It stands to reason that since human life has a short span, in order to live forever, it must be in a spiritual world.  Let us realize that we are spirits, because God is a spirit, and He created us in his likeness.  Therefore we must prepare spiritually.
Some people think God does not exist, and the Bible is foolish.  The biggest reasons they feel the way they do, is they never took the time to know God, through the Bible.  They bought the lies of satan and follow him.
Stop trying to make excuses for yourself.  There are many easy to read Bibles.  It tells it like it is.  If you read a book that told you that if you light a match to dynamite, it will explode and kill you, would you do it anyway, because the book is 200 years old?  What was true then is true now.
There are many people out there, including some in very high places, that lead people to go astray by telling them that anything goes.  They tell people that everyone will be saved because they know that that is what people want to hear.  It is all lies.  The best thing you can do is find out for yourself.  A loving God does not condone many of the things that this world considers okay.  For that reason alone, it is a good idea to get the real facts.
I do not understand how anyone would want to take a chance of spending eternity in hell, just because they are hardheaded or have a pride problem, thinking they are their own God.  If you look back at any period of time in your life, whether it was 20 years, or two months ago, can you believe it went by so fast?  The Bible says that Jesus could come back at any time. Maybe before you even take your next breath, are you ready?
God is the God of all.  satan rules this world only until Jesus comes. When that happens, all who did not believe, lose forever.  May God bless you and your family.  Praise the Lord!

Relax with God

It Is Written, John 15:7, if you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it will be done for you.
Many times we have been advised to "let go and let God", " cast your cares on God", let God direct your path as mentioned in Proverbs 3:5-6.
All of this sounds pretty good, but is it real?  Does it apply to me?  It is all true, but you must believe with all of your heart, and your prayers will be answered.
Let's look at some facts, if you are a believer.
You received the Holy Spirit at salvation.  He is in you and you received the fruits of the Holy Spirit, at the same time.  Galatians 5:22-23.
You asked Jesus to come into your heart.
Every Word from God is true.
Your spirit was healed.
You are thankful and are grateful.
You are compassionate, and loving.
You exhibit other fruits of the spirit.
When you put all of this together, you have the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and the Word of God in your heart. When you realize that all of this is true, it is no problem to act like a child of God, letting Him take care of everything, and putting you at total spiritual peace.
When you try to follow anything connected with God, you must realize you will have a battle on your hands with satan.  He will try everything he can think of to keep you from believing.  Remember you have power over him through the name of Jesus.  No need to be scared or terrified of satan, just tell him to get lost in Jesus name.  May God bless you and your family. Praise the Lord!

Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross for me.  Your blood washed away all my sins, by your stripes I was healed, your death and resurrection brought me salvation.  Please forgive my sins, and come into my heart as my personal Savior.
Thank You Lord
Amen

Just Ask

It Is Written, John 14:13-14, and whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the father may be glorified in the Son, if you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Most of us are familiar with the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32.  We focus our attention on the younger son, who it seems is very anxious to get out in the world and enjoy its pleasures.
This young man has no idea what is out there waiting for him, but he wants to find out.  Apparently he is bored at home, and wants to do everything his way, so he is gives no thought to leaving his father.  We know what happens when he is on his own.
Many of us can relate to his little misadventure.  He did it his way, and we do it our way.  We all run into hardship, regrets, and despair, until most of us finally wake up to see what we lost.  He knew his father loved him, and would forgive him, and welcome him back with open arms.  When we wake up, we go back to Jesus and receive total forgiveness and unconditional love.
The older brother was faithful to his father, and did all that his father asked.  He loved his father, and his father loved him.  When his father took the younger brother back and celebrated his return, the older brother got angry.  Apparently some jealousy and feeling sorry for himself was the reason.
We can also relate to the older brother.  He had his loving father, and we have ours.  Everything his father had was his, and everything our father has is ours.  He never asked his father for anything, and became angry at his brother because he did.  We for whatever reason don't ask our father for anything, so we miss out.  Many things from God, are for those who ask in Jesus name.  If we do not seek our fathers blessings, we should not be angry at those who do.
This little example of what the parable showed was mine.  It was not explained that way in the Bible.  I just saw myself both ways.  How about you?
