Does God Expect Too Much ?

It Is Written,  John 3:16,  for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,  that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
We should ask ourselves what is it that God does expect of us?  Do we think it is reasonable or unreasonable.  When you ask yourself that question, make sure you try to keep emotions out of it.  How you answer that question will determine how you spend the rest of your life.
God expects you to believe that He created everything that exists, including you.  When He created us, He didn't want a bunch of yes men, or robots. He wanted us to love Him, and spend eternity with Him.
God knew we were weak and would occasionally mess up.  He knew that we could not possibly pay for our sins by ourselves.  So He sent His only son to pay for our sins.
God expects us to believe His Word, and accept His son as our Savior.  He wants us to love and rust Him.  He doesn't want to buy our love, He wants us to love Him, because He loves us.
How do we love Him ?  By trusting Him, loving our fellow man, and following Him.  When we do that, and repent of our sins, not because of fear of punishment, but because we hurt Him, we start to get closer to Him.
God also tests our faith once in a while, to show ourselves and our Creator, that we really do believe, no matter what, because He said so.
So the bottom line is this.  When you look at your life, and consider everything along the lines of this message,  Is God expecting too much, or Is He  not expecting enough?  Another question to ask yourself is simply this. If you were in God's position would you be as merciful, kind, and loving, to people that generally don't appreciate it?  I think we all need to really think about these things.
We cannot possibly love more than God.  Have a blessed day.  Praise the Lord!

Life Is ?

It Is Written, James 4:14, whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow.  For what is your life?  It is even a vapor that appears for a little time, then vanishes away.
Have you ever really thought about that statement?  Take a look at your past.  Think about an event in your life from years ago.  Does it seem like yesterday?  It is amazing how time appears to operate.
If it was in the past, or really enjoyable, time goes by fast.  If you are waiting for something, or you are having a hard time, time just seems to drag on.
Most of us go through life chasing things.  Whether it is stuff, pleasure, or self-fulfillment, it is all the same.  Most things that we chase are elusive, and cause us stress, frustration, and unhappiness.
We wake up one morning, and we are many years older, and still searching.  We think about things that were important in the past, and realize that they no longer matter.  That my friends is normal for most people.
I was listening to a preacher one day, and he said that if a person used Proverbs as a guide, his life would be worthwhile, and successful.  I would add that the rest of God's word is also needed. If you allow God to direct you, you will never have regrets.  Just a reminder.  We get only one shot at life, we have to make it good the first time.  Have a blessed day.  Praise the Lord!

Faith in Inability

It Is Written, Mark 9:23, Jesus said "if you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."
Sounds like a funny title, doesn't it?b But if you think about it, we do it all of the time.b Let me explain.
Almost all believers believe in God's ability to do the impossible. Cure a headache, grow a new arm, replace a heart, put a new eye where there was none, all simple for God. bWe have no doubt that He can do these things.b Our reasoning is, if He created it, He can fix, change, or replace anything in this world.
Here comes the tough part.  While we believe all of the above, we doubt that He will do it for us, or we don't expect Him to.  We actually begin to have faith that a miracle will not happen.  We are so convinced of it, that it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
Do you wonder if you will take another breath, worry if your heart will keep beating, or if you will be able to see five minutes from now?  Of course not.
Believing God has the ability, and will do a miracle in your life works the same way.  Start taking God's love for you for granted, do your part(trust) and relax.  It is finished.  Praise the Lord!

My Father Loves Me

It Is Written, Proverbs 13:1,  a wise son heeds his father's instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.
When I was growing up I knew my parents loved me,  but we were not a warm family.  We were not close, and I guess we really didn't try to be.  My dad was a nice guy, and we certainly didn't suffer hardship because of him, but he never took interest in what I did or wanted to do.
When I first found the Lord, it was very hard to accept that God the father loves me so much.  I didn't have much of an idea of what that meant.  Yes I read plenty of verses about His love, but like most people, the verses were nice, but they didn't really touch me.
Like a lot of people, I just lived  my life my way, and didn't think about it very much. Then one day, I had an awakening.  After a bad decision on my part, I suddenly realized that a little voice inside me, kept telling me not to do what I did.
I started thinking about other things.  I finally realized that my habit was to pray about something, then do it my way.  How many times do you have to stick your hand in a fire, to realize it hurts?
I started to look at all of these verses again, but this time I looked at myself and my two boys.  Did I look out for them, was I interested in what they wanted to do, did I try to guide them, did I really love them and show it? The answer was yes.
It became obvious to me, that if an imperfect person like me tried to guide his kids for their happiness and well-being, how much more would God do?  Obviously no comparison.
Now when I read the verses, I see the absolute truth in them. Since God sees all, and loves me unconditionally, how can I go wrong following His lead?
I found it helped me to be a better father, when I passed on wisdom from my Father.  Believe me when I tell you, the words in the Bible are not just words.  They are life.  Have a blessed day.  Praise the Lord!

Dear God

Taking a Trip

It Is Written, Hebrews 4:9, there remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
When most of us think about taking a trip, we have a destination in mind. We imagine a place, and the things we would like to do when we get there.
It is hard for the average person to make arrangements for a place they never saw.  Everyone would like the best places to stay,  the cheapest way to get there, and so on.
In order to lessen the chances of a total disaster, we look for travel agents, or websites that have a good reputation, for knowing what they are doing. We put our faith and trust in these fallible people, and we don't worry about the trip.  We spend our time visualizing a fantastic vacation.
How many people consider their eternal destination?  Most people get nervous if they think about that.  Now this my friends is a trip where you really need to put your trust in the right place.  There is no eternity.com to help you, but there is the Word of God.  As you know the Word of God is a guidebook, written by the supreme being, for our eternal peace and joy.  It also gives you faultless directions during your life so that your trip and your destination are just as good as they can possibly be.
Just remember we can forget a bad trip, or a bad choice of destination. Those are actually minor, and they are over in a short time.  Eternity is forever, with absolutely no "do overs".
So as we go through life, doesn't it make sense to include the most important trip, your eternal destination in your planning?  It is never too early, or too late.  Seek the Lord with all your heart, and you can't possibly go wrong.  Have a blessed day. Praise the Lord!

Are the Poor Faithful?

It Is Written, Luke 6:20,  blessed are you poor,  for yours is the kingdom of God.
It Is Written, Matthew 5:3, blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.
At first glance, these two verses may seem different. But are they?  Both refer to people who are spiritually lost.  At the time Jesus was teaching the people about God, the only real teaching about God was from Jesus, not in the synagogue.  Religion as they knew it was just rules and regulations that were impossible to do.  They were ready to hear what Jesus was teaching.
When you look at people in the physical world,  you see people that depend on God for a living, such as farmers.  The weather and how their crops grow are a result of God's actions, and they know it.
In many places on earth, people have nothing.  Their lives seem without hope. When given the opportunity to hear about God, they endure hardships to hear the Word, that most people in the industrialized world would not even dream of doing.  They realize God is their only hope, and many cling to him.
The sad part is with most people, the better off they are, the less they depend on God.  They feel that they accomplished everything by themselves and don't need God.  They don't even want to hear about God.
There you have it. Two ways to look at those verses. Nothing has changed from that time until now,  because people and circumstances have not changed for the most part.  Have a blessed day.  Praise The Lord!

God Is Always There

It Is Written, Psalm 145:8, The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.
When some unfortunate thing such as an accident or sickness happens, the first thing most people do is question God.  Why did He cause this or allow this?
First of all,  God does not cause these things to happen.  satan does.  Even an earthly father would not bring these things on his children,  much less God.  So there must be a reason that satan can get away with something like this.
God is always available to us.  He never takes a vacation,  or a day off.  A better question would be, where are we?
Each of us has a choice.  Live a life with God,  or a life with the world.  God provides us with His help,  protection, and grace.  He looks after His own.
A worldly life opens us up to attack by satan. We have a free will, and God honors that.  If we prefer a life without God,  we should expect attacks from satan, with no interference from God,  because He will not go against our wishes.  When disaster strikes,  blame satan and your choice to live without God.
God is waitng for you to come to Him.  Where are you?  Have a blessed day.  Praise The Lord!

The Real Meaning Of Charity

It Is Written, Philippians 2: 4, Let each of you look out for not only his own interests, but the interests of others.
Charity as defined by Christians means love for man as God loves man. The ancient Greek calls it agape, or unconditional love, non judgemental.
Unfortunately most people look at charity as taking from themselves, and giving to someone who they consider isn't worthy or deserving in most cases, and may even be dishonest.
If God loves everyone so much, how can we claim to love God,  if we ignore, judge,  or look down on  those He put us here to help?
Jesus said we are to love our neighbor.  What ever we do to or for someone else, we do it to Him.  Giving from the heart is what God expects. God gave to us, so that we could share with those in need.
When you see thousands of starving children on TV,  don't ask why God doesn't take care of them.  He did.  He sent you and me.
If someone is in need and asks you for something,  look at them as a child of God, and don't try to judge in any way.  Help them with all of your heart. If they are dishonest, God will take care of it.  In the meantime your helping one of God's children, and you are actually praising God.  No one ever came up short serving Almighty God.  Have a blessed day.  Praise The Lord. Amen.

Consult With God

It Is Written, Deut 31: 6,  Be strong and of good courage,  do not fear or be afraid of them,  for the Lord your God,  the one who goes with you,  He will never leave you or forsake you.
You have undoubtedly heard something like this before,  but did you believe it?  Maybe you thought it was just something to make you feel better. Not so.
The Word was not written just to make people feel better.  It is a book of facts, and promises from God to us.  It is a guide for life eternal from God Himself.  As a result of this book,  people who live their lives by what the Word says,  have a much happier life.  They are more able to withstand trouble when it comes.
If you take the above verse literally, several things will happen. You will have a constant companion in the Holy Spirit, so you are never alone.  As you speak to your companion, and get to know Him, you will start to hear His voice in your heart.
Once you realize that He is with you, you will begin to talk to Him, and ask His advice about everything.  Since the Word says He was sent by Jesus to help us, you will gain added wisdom by talking to Him, find His guidance invaluable, and life changing to the good for you.
I know there are scoffers out there, who will probably never benefit from the presence  of the Holy Spirit, because their pride won't let them,  or they think that the whole idea is foolish.  To them I say, it is foolish to not take advantage of The Holy Spirit's presence in your life.  He is waiting for you to wake up.  What have you got to lose?  Think about that last statement! Have a blessed day.  Praise The Lord!

Repeat Belief

It Is Written, Psalm 27: 13, I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Faith is a matter of knowing what the Word says about God, including His promises to us.
After quite a few years, I have finally figured out how faith works for me, and I know it will work for you the same way. You start out with the fact that God cannot lie.  If He cannot lie, what He says must be the truth.
Faith is a matter of trusting God to use His power to make something happen. You choose to believe that God keeps His word, and all you have to do at that point is to trust Him for the result.
When you stand on the Word and speak the answer, you receive it.  Just keep repeating the answer every day, and your faith will take root,  and the miracle will be released. I know this for a fact. You receive your miracle when you ask God, and do your part. That part is to believe it before you see it, by relying on the Word and love of God for you. Have a blessed day.

Be A Doer

It Is Written, James 1 :22-23,  But be doers of the Word,  and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.  For if anyone is a hearer of the Word,  and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;  for he observes himself,  goes away,  and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
This does not refer to works which cannot save, but the operation of the fruits of the Holy Spirit received at salvation.  Galatians 5: 22-23.  Love , joy, peace, longsuffering (patience ), faithfulness, gentleness, self control.
There is far less benefit to just reading the word, than studying it.  We must also use the Word as a guide to living our lives.  Knowing about the fruits of the Holy Spirit, is not the same as practicing what they are.
If a person doesn't know or practice what is in the Word,  he becomes an easy target for satan.  It is like anything else,  in that if you don't put in effort and practice, your skills and memory fade, and you are no better off than before you started.
Knowing and doing what the Word says is too important to have a casual attitude toward it.  Have A Blessed Day.  Praise The Lord!

It Takes Time

It Is Written, James 1:2-3,  My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials.  Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
It is natural for people in this world to want results instantly.  After all, we live in a world of instant everything.
People get discouraged with prayer, because results usually take a while. The average person does not realize  what is involved in the spirit world in order to answer a prayer.
As an example, take a look at painting a picture.  A photo is instant, but a piece of art takes time.  First you find a place to work.  Then you have to get the lighting right,  get a canvas, paints, and brushes.  All of these steps must take place before you even begin to paint.
When you pray according to the Word, your results start to take place in the spirit world. There may be a hundred things in dozens of places, all timed perfectly, in order for you to get your answer.  It can take a minute, a day, or a year, so keep your faith.
A word of warning.  Fear, doubt, and worry stops the process. When you get true faith back, the process starts all over again.  Just as an artist sees the result before the picture is even started,  you must see your answer.  A painting is one brush stroke and color at a time until it is finished.  At some point the artist is one brush stroke from the finished work.  You may be one minute from the answer to your prayer.  Don't give up, trust in the faithfulness of our Lord to get it done.  Have a blessed day.  Praise The Lord!

Casting Out satan

It Is Written,James 4:17, therefore submit to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Talk to most christians, and you will find that they are aware of the devil. Many are afraid of the devil, and try to cast him out in their fear.  It doesn,t work.
The best way to deal with the devil is prevention.  Do not give him a chance in the first place.  How do you resist him ?
Do not accept thoughts he puts in your head.  Trust in God,  and do not worry about anything.  Have no fear about anything.  Make sure you have no unforgiveness in your heart toward anyone, about anything.  Fill your heart daily with the Word, and love of God.  Stand on the Word so that the evil one cannot trick you into something.
Remember this important fact.  satan cannot rule over you, unless you invite him into your heart and mind.  Jesus said " begone satan ".According to the Word, we have the power in Jesus name to say  "begone satan in Jesus name " and he will flee.  If you read the Word, you know where you stand, and you become the victor, not the victim.

Do You Claim Blessings ?

It Is Written, Phil 4:6,Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving,  let your requests be made known to God.
I have heard many people over the years, talking about the fact that they don't " Bother " God with little things.  I used to think that way too.   All of us were wrong.
God is a loving father and wants the best for all His children.  In order for Him to do that,  He came up with a plan for each of us.
When we constantly tell the Lord what is on our minds, and in our hearts, we are actually asking Him if we are following His plan.  For instance, if you want to go somewhere, and ask God about it, you are really asking Him if it is in His plan for you.
Since God knows His plan is best,  He is very happy when you ask Him first. You honor Him, and benefit yourself by going to Him and asking.  He never gets tired of it.
If you don't talk to God, you may miss His plan, and the blessings that go with it.   Have a blessed day.   Praise The Lord!
